Fairytale cardboard cutout character, could've been cool if her betrayal had more depth to it, but whatever. Also:
>Unlocking the final party characters literally one or two dungeons before the end of the fucking game
It was a cute idea, but it really could've used more polish. I can't imagine Ubisoft will ever bother with another entry, though.
I'm surprised anyone still remembers the game, have a bump.
sad we won't get a sequel
they won't because it doesn't fit their current business model. makes me scared for beyond good and evil 2 if a little indie game was denied for lacking Gaas qualities
Did it sell badly? While I wouldn't expect another entry any time soon with how big of a cash cow Ass Creed is it was a pretty charming game. It would be a shame to have it be a one off.
Yeah the Aztec warrior dude was a total bro I always get pissed remembering neat settings and characters that never get more material.
i heard it sold well enough. the game was developed with a shoe string budget and had a price to match it.The issue is that ubi seems to be focused HYEUG games now and see's no need for small titles
that mentality is so bizarre when you consider even EA has a fuckin division devoted to small games like a way out and unravel
I might be making things up because this was quite some time ago, but I thought Child of Light was part of a project Ubi had of making more artsy titles on the side.
>did it sell that badly
lmao no. It simply isn't AssCreed so Ubi jus ignores it.
Same old story for their franchises that aren't at least a 10 million sellers.
Best girl.
I wish it didn't end up rushed to the end because of ubishit, I was actually enjoying this game
They even threw PoP under the bus, those fuckers.
First they try something new and it doesn't work out and then they go for "Remember Sands of Time? Have it again but more forgettable".
The AssCreed cow can't last forever, can it?
Hard to forget the game when it had this track:

>not older Aurora
Your preferences disappoint.
Aurora is already best daughter.
Remember Splinter Cell? They don't even care about that one either.
Dark Aurora is better. Very comfy color scheme.
>Child of Light
>Main character becomes an adult for half the game
You don't say "I'm the adult of my mom", do you?
Yes, my mom's little adult.
She's still the child of light though, since she was born of light.
Based.
Art and music were god tier
I was so fucking mad, she was so cute.
> wasted potential: the game
fucking ubisoft
>stopped playing around the giant boss fight in the mermaid village
Any tips
I stopped playing right after going down into some underground/underwater fish village or something. How far through the game was I?
End of the second third, I'd say.
Can't remember but I think I used Aurora (my main DPS), the kategida guy (my tank) and Rubella (my healer), plus maybe Finn. Use Igniculus to slow the guy down, kill the dogs first, guard and heal when possible. It took me a while but I did it in the end.
Nearly at the end, just one or two more areas that are quite beautiful. You're missing out.
Same. Any other publisher would have let this game be completed. I still enjoyed it, though.
Might finish it then. It felt like the end but it didn't stop giving me new party members and I made me feel burnt out.

The music was god tier in this game.

The ending song is amazing.
Yeah, that's a strange quirk the game has. It won't stop giving you party members.
Good to see the thread is surviving, guys.
Have a bump
She was so good too bad she betray you
also i really wish this game had some kinda of post game
It doesn't have that much side content, you wouldn't be left with much to do.
Never would've expected a thread on this game, this is nice. It was a really great little game but man did it need at least one or two more dungeons, there was a lot of hidden lore they just never followed up on and it ended so suddenly. Still really good and a damn shame they never made a sequel. I never did play the DLC, did anyone else? How was it?
I haven't. Can you even get it now or is it stuck on Uplay, thus making it unavailable in last gen?
Make sure you cancel the big attacks when possible, be efficient with Igniculus and use everyone in your party as needed. Buffing can be a bit awkward with just two but everyone has good situational abilities. I remember debuffs actually being helpful too.
I don't know, I got the game on PS+ for PS4 and still saw it on the store last time I checked which was a while ago. It seems a bit cynical to even have DLC for a game like this (especially the gem shit), but I thought it was funny it came with yet another party member.
The gem crap (there were also consumable elixirs if I remember) I give a pass because it's just Uplay stuff you get with units you can get in-game, not real money, so it's not so bad. But it's still silly, yeah.
What would other games like this be?
Good.
It just seemed pretty tacked on though I'm sure I saw real money stuff as well, I forgot about it soon enough but the game being so enjoyable yet so short always had me wondering about that extra DLC area. I never did NG+ either though, it's nice that's a thing although I would've liked a little more challenge in the main game. The gem system was pretty cool too, got pretty satisfying making some of the best types.
One of the main reasons I liked it was because the combat system was a half copy of Grandia which is one of the best JRPG combat systems around that no one copies for some reason. I guess Folklore has a similar fairytale/real life crossing over setting as well as also being criminally underrated, very deserving of a sequel and having a cute girl.
