JET SET RADIOOOOOO
jet set radio is a legitimately bad game. looks nice though.
Earthbound. Out of those three it's the one with the weakest gameplay for its genre. JSR is a fun score attack game if nothing else, and Third Strike is one of Capcoms best fighters
RADIOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
Jet set radio because the same faggots will literally say it's better than Future. A game they also never played
Jet Set Radio obviously for the music. I love the games themselves but realistically most people who are mildly interested in it are going to look up the soundtrack over the other two you mentioned.
How many people praise JSR over JSRF? A ton of people played JSRF because it was bundled with some Xbox consoles along with a racing game nobody gives a fuck about.
This, all style. JSRF, on the other hand, still holds up pretty well and is pretty fun
Cube
it was free at some point
???
>JSRF is actually great guys
Based retard lieposter
Zoomers here never owned an og xbox my friend.
Planescape
percentage of people who installed and played JSR that completed chapters 1-3 and the tutorial
I tried out JSR once. It was real boring, and the vocal soundtrack was locked at the start and had to be earned, so I had to play the first few levels with a much more generic version of the OST.
its a hell of a lot better than the shovelware dreamcast game
niggawat
Come to think of it people who played both are a real anomaly. There's the OG Dreamcast niggas who still recall it as Jet Grind Radio, the Xbros who got the bundle, and the JSRHDfriends. I know people in all three and its impressive how sheer enthusiasm for JSR as a franchise keeps things from getting too divided, and those who played both are either lucky or they really went out of their way to do it.
WHY WON'T THEY PORT FUTURE TO STEAM; MY TOASTER CAN'T RUN EMULATORS ABOVE TWENTY FRAMES
FOR THAT MATTER, WHERE THE FUCK IS SPACE CHANNEL 1
t-they'll listen to me if I buy tickets for the new sonic the hedgehog movie, right?
I want to _______ cube's ________
sega gt was a solid racer for the era. played it on release and still enjoyed it last year after finding an xbox at goodwill.
Earthbound
Third Strike is praised by people who watch rather than play because they don't know what the fuck a fighting game neutral is supposed to be. They think Evo Moment 37 is the pinnacle of fighting games. They think parries should just allow fundamentals to be bent over and raped because they allow for MEGA COOL UPSETS DUDE WHOOAA
You show these brainlets an example of a traditional neutral and they call it boring because 50/50s aren't being shat left and right every few seconds.
Refuel
Cans
I've played through JSR probably ten times on ios and my vita and it drives me insane how many "huge JSR fans" are excited to play it for the first time
JSR because of the music. Most people probably heard if before playing. The game plays like shit anyway
>JSR
Genuinely mediocre game with a great aesthetic and fantastic OST. I can't blame people too much for praising this game without playing it because they're not missing much and the things it's loved for are actually really good.
>Earthbound
Never played it lol. I think Mother 3 is way more beloved by frauds who haven't played it, though.
>Third Strike
Most overrated fighting game of all time. OST is good and the sprite work is nice, (albeit nothing to write home about) but the game is legit not that great. The source of the praise is for... what exactly...? The Daigo parry? Not sure where the sudden influx of love for 3S could have come from in recent years other than noobs trying to fit in by loving old fighting games. People are too new/young to remember that Street Fighter 3 in all its iterations was loathed back in the day.
I dunno how you could be a Sega fan and Dreamcast guy back in 99-01 and not pick up an og xbox. I felt like thr console carried the torch from Dreamcast. I had jsrf preordered
Nobody was discussing that, nobody plays earthbound for the gameplay, it's for the world and story.
Most earthbound fags have beaten dome of it, large number of 3rd strike fans have played it a few times and just list it for clout because it's the "hardcore" fighting game
I first heard of JSR when I saw some videos of it on Youtube in 2007. I bought it on Ebay right away and got JSRF a year later at Hollywood Video.
> The source of the praise is for... what exactly...?
I personally like it because it was the last 2D fighter I played in an arcade. As late as 2012, I would still go to the local arcade and spend a weekend playing other regulars and having a blast. There was also an 11 year gap between 3S and IV, so it had plenty of time to gain a devoted following.
>People are too new/young to remember that Street Fighter 3 in all its iterations was loathed back in the day.
That's probably a true, but I was in HS school when it came out. I'm sure the old school SF fags hated it, but again, the fandom had time to develop and grow.
the funny thing is daigo ain't even like third strike
spoken like someone who has never played the game
I wish SEGA would make another JSR.
It is better than Future
lol nah bruh
Nice argument. JSRF was a casualized remake for amerisharts
Bought and played jsr. Kinda sucks ass. Tutorial is crap. Also the movement just feels weird. No way to ensure a lockdown on grinding rails sucks too. The tony hawk games pretty much do the grinding and movement and momentum far better. Jsrf looks pretty good though.
Jsr is still a comfy game, but the fact that all of it feels like a mini game, or some arcade game, kinda loses is playabilitiy imo. Jsrf did it right by being more open world.
>nobody was discussing that, nobody plays earthbound for the gameplay, it's for the world and story
Which makes it easier for people to pretend they like it, they just need to watch a play through or read the lore and act like they are the biggest earthbound fans even though they e never actually played it or seen the whole thing.
JSR plays perfectly
you guys just fucking suck and can't appreciate a game with a learning curve
You grew up with the game or have incredible patience. The game has issues. Recognize them.
>MFW so many poseurs pretend to love JSR that they don't even know that its JSRF everyone loves
Dont know if im retarded but I never got past the challenge that let you unlock giganigga with the boombox after that other girl
Earthbound is literally the most hipster choice by people who actually think every RPG is FF.
Nobody really cares that much about JSR nowadays and those who have actually played it like it for what it is.
And third strike is interesting. Yeah yeah people dickride it a lot but at least they admit it and don't really care. It's only a problem when they insist it's the best fighting game ever.
Oh boy a tryhard
I played the game for the first time around 4 years ago.
Don't blame a learning curve that greatly rewards skill for your lack of it.
The gameplay is meant to mimic the rollers motions on the stick, while maintaining momentum, height and a couple other factors when it comes to movement.
This is why people think it's "stiff", the gameplay is trying to give you complete and utter control over your movement.
Specially momentum, using it correctly lets you glide across the entire fucking map without getting even close to the ground.
This. Y'all are a bunch of faggot lil babbies. I like future a lot for being open and whatnot, but the original is a lovely game. I like the characters, running from the cops, unique great soundtrack. I can see not liking the time limit, and getting all the achievements is a bitch, but me and a buddy both played through it start to finish and enjoyed it in like, 2013. It's not bad. I like it more than future but I've never seen the fanbase this divided until I saw this shitty thread.
Third strike is my fave street fighter but I'm not much of a SF fan. It's just stylin and fun to play. Earthbound is a game I've always wanted to get into but the combat is crappy as hell and I just never could get into it
I don't understand what's going on here.
I don't like it, not at all.
If you grind and point the stick slightly off straight, all your momentum is now put in that direction, so getting off course is easy and very hard to stear in air. People on roller blades can turn quicker than you can in the game. Seems like moon gravity is always on, tony hawk games made you more grounded which made grinding and doing tricks way more satisfying and quicker.
Seriously, play a tony hawk game. They get everything nearly right for game feel. Even turning is better and skate boards are stiffer to turn with than roller blades in real life.
Also dashing kinda sucks and tony hawk games, yet again, implement the system way way waaaay better. Its far snappier
Take it easy.
Jet Set RADIOOOOOO
>Which is the game most beloved by people who haven't actually played it?
Played 3rd Strike as well. Fucking sucks, only SFV saves from being the worst SF. Alpha 2 & 3 all the way pleb
Earthbound, no question.
>parries allow you to fuck people who know fundamentals!
But the clip you posted is of a guy who jumps in raw as if 3S does have air parries, but then proceeds to spam high recovery moves in the corner to hit someone falling as if the game didn't. Not to mention a parry is only useful if you read your opponent, so it's easier to make an argument that it's an extension of fundamentals rather than a punishment for them.
Wrong. By numbers alone of the system and units sold there's more people who played JSR instead of JSRF.
Even more due piracy and now Xboxlive/Steam meanwhile that failed reimagination known as JSRF got stuck in a system were its little success was among a small part of the company's country unlike its superior game which was worldwide.
it was free a few years ago
plus you'll find that a lot of games seem to have almost nobody actually playing through them, even after buying them
The PC port isn't the best to go by due to
A) It being constantly offered for free
B) The fact that many people still experience problems getting their game to save
lick
navel
Future is a better game. Don't fool yourself.
Tbh, Jet Set Radio actually relies on skill, while JSRF holds your hand and praises you, as if you're a mentally challenged child, so it's not surprising that manchildren like future
Played for the first time a couple years ago. On PC with a fucking keyboard
You're wrong. Game is cash, amazing even and its issues doesn't mean a bad thing in a first installment of all things, just space for improvement.
Nope.
>Please stop pushing my shit in, Noize Tankz!
It rewards patience to put up with dated and bad controls.
Not everyone can nail 3d mobement games their first time so its not that big of an issue to most. Well, unless you gre up with it. In qhich case I assume you will defend the game mediocrity to the end.
There is a reason why people reminice on the music more than the game
Meant to quote this fag
Play a tony hawk game. What it lacks in style it makes up with actually good skating controls. If jst played like american wasteland or any later instalments besides pro skater 5, then it would be a really great game
Id literally smack the fedora off any fag irl that says jsr is better than jsrf
I forced myself to play through Jet Set Radio to try in fit in and outside of god tier aesthetics and OST I honestly hated it. It’s gameplay is extremely flawed and movement is frustrating. I just wanted to be in the cool internet crowd who played the cool hip game. I’m a faggot I know but I would honestly recommend anyone who’s even vaguely interested to just listened to the OST and call it a day. I see people say Future is a lot tighter and fun but I have no way of playing it
Your example is wrong.
JSR is THPS2, JSRF is AW.
Based the achievements were pretty fun to get and the game is pretty cool when you get used to it
I mean, yeah, in that sense of gameplay you are right. Im talking specificaly about the skating part.
Honestly same. Insufferable fags.
How is the steam version of jsr
Briefly tried the game years ago and couldn’t into the controls. Kinda want to give it another shot.
perfect bar the 30fps hard-cap
I see no errors in it and you can mod it to put your own graffiti into it if you want.
Yes you can make your own already, but you can upload some high quality shit now
>what are copyright issues
Also awful bold of you to assume that most of those sales for JSR didn’t come from being heavily discounted and flat out free at some points. JSRfags are truly this delusional, huh?
I feel like the last time I played the game ran at 60 fps?
It seemed really smooth to me...
I played JSR for PC for the first time less than a year ago. It was my first introduction to the series and IMO it holds up, zero nostalgia required. The controls are a little janky and 30fps is a bummer, but the music aesthetic, and level design makes up for it. I've never played Future because I'm a zoomer that never had an original Xbox. But I'd like to play it if it ever comes to PC or the emulator gets good enough to play it.
>or the emulator gets good enough to play it.
It had better because I'm still seething over what you zoomers did
Ask me how I know you haven't played either.
Doom
Of the three? Earthbound. But the true answer is Touhou.
>and the vocal soundtrack was locked at the start and had to be earned, so I had to play the first few levels with a much more generic version of the OST.
Why are you lying on the internet?
THPS 2 was straight up arcade with great OST with while THAM was more open world, focused on missions with a forgetable soundtrack in comparison.
Now replace them with JSR and JSRF, it stays the same.
Do not speak such high words if you did not know JSR is a game from DC, they make you look weak.
Jet Set Radio, because people are probably thinking of Future, which was great, whereas the Jet Set Radio is tepid dog shit.
dwarf fortress
Shit character. Why not go after someone actually worth a damn, like Gum?
beep boop nigga
hyurk hyurk hyurk hyurk
>forgetable soundtrack
Concept of Love> all
Based she's all you need
>The game has issues. Recognize them.
stop talking like a social jewish warrior
>JSR
Beautiful game that still holds up well by today's standards even though the controls and camera can be a pain sometimes. I've yet to play Future myself as I never owned an original Xbox, but from what I've seen it definitely looks like an improvement on all fronts. The shitflinging is cancer though, they are both great games. Stop being a faggot.
>Earthbound
I played it not too long ago, but I put it on hold after Poo joined my party cause I had some shit going on. I've yet to return to it, but I liked everything that I played. I will admit that I had beaten Earthbound Zero and Mother 3 before I started it.
>3S
One of my favorite fighting games of all time next to MvC2, CvS2 and Melty Blood. The first game to get me into fighting games, learning inputs and what a shoto or a charge character was. I don't think it's the end all be all of fighting games, but it's a damn good one. I don't get why some of you faggots need to get up on a high horse and act superior because you don't like it.
gum's the basic bitch for secondaries who never played the games
>Which is the game most beloved by people who haven't actually played it?
None of those. It is astounding how many FF7 fans have never played the actual game. Oddly they seem to be who square has catered to in everything after the original game.
>The game has issues. Recognize them.
From my experience with the game on the PS3 port the game feels extremely awkward when you start playing it, getting on rails feels finicky and it just seems like a clunky mess, but that is because the game doesn't hold your hand in the slightest. It's entirely skill based and when you get down to it and actually know what you're doing it has a wonderful sense of momentum that makes it an absolute joy to play.
The game is a great little arcade game, you just need to get good at it to get enjoyment out of the game, otherwise it will be too unwieldy.
Don't talk to me unless you have high Tag skill, you Cubeshitter.
She's really useful when you are trying to get jet ranks in jet graffiti though
>Street fighter III: Third strike
How are your Daigo parries coming along?
youtu.be
What don't you like about the dashing? If it's the cooldown you can hop to keep chaining them and gain speed fast.
as if i mained her only, pussy nigger
Why should you have to hop in the first place? In tony hawk it follows skateboard rules pretty well. The lower you are to the board the faster you go. Conservation of mass and what not. Kicking also gets you some speed. You kick natrually while moving but hold X to get low.
In jsr you press a button and you start moving faster. Like you said, it seems there is a slight exploit with it, but why could it not work like actual skates? How they do a sort of push slide carving skate to get speed and momentum? Or maybe just have it like tony hawk's games since conservation of mass works the same on skates as it does with everything.
I honestly don't know what the meaning behind that was. My guess is that they wanted you to rely on the environment for speed (and thus have to pay attention to it and plan your routes) instead of having an easy "go fast" button.
>not maining that black shirtless dude with the Sonic necklace and Jet!ing all levels with him
Is that even possible? Are there infinite grinds in every level to abuse?
People don't really pretend to play or love the games though. Many openly admit to not even knowing that they exist and just like it because it's posted literally everywhere and the art is cute.
Garam?
>High power
miss me with that gay shit
Right, I'm just confused how more people have finished the first chapter than the tutorial. It's been a long time since I've played it but isn't the tutorial the first thing in the game?
I feel like tony hawk does that as well. You only go so fast while holding X. You can "bank" into ramps to get way more speed, and grinding on rails gets your momentum up too.
Some missions in american wasteland wanted you to bank into ramps off of 4 story high buildings to get enough speed. Building momentum with the environment is also a pretty big emphasis in those games. They just implemt it in a different way.
WHAT'S YOUR NAME?
>garam
fucking patrician my man
also i'm certain there's a shitload of infinite grinds you can abuse to get jet ez everywhere, plenty of videos if you wanna check those out
Earthbound by a landslide.
To end the tutorial you need to do 50 tricks, which is kind of hard for most beginners.
The tutorial is a misnomer; instead of a basic "how to play", it's a thorough training session on every possible trick and technique in the game, including the advanced ones.
Earthbound by far, but SFIII fans are loud as fuck.
That and the main game itself gives you an actual tutorial when you begin playing. It's weird.
How do you know you don't like what's going on here? Have you played it?
JSRF > JSR
Played like 5 minutes of JSR and it's hot garbage. JSRF has a few gameplay issues but it's infinitely better.
>Played like 5 minutes of JSR and it's hot garbage
That's why you don't like it.
Is JSR the real casual filter?
spray
midriff
Literally the person OP is talking about detected
>mfw these zoomers don't know we always just called it "Jet Set Radio" because the first game was Jet Grind Radio to most people before all of these digital re-releases
Except I've actually played the game, friendo. And I know that you're not going to enjoy the game if you spend five minutes with it, not taking the time to learn it.
it was still jet set radio here in europe iirc
If you want jet ranks, YoYo is literally the only character you should be playing
It feels so good.
I found the rolling numbers system fun. I also just generally enjoy JRPG gameplay, so I just ended up enjoying the grinding et al.
Improvise>Grace & Glory>Everything else
JSR>JSRF
He da man.
Birthday Cake>>>>>>>>
you call that a holy trinity?
>JSR
>Chu Chu Rocket
>Power Stone II
get on my level, DC-lite
I bought JSRF for 5$ what am I in for? I never had a Dreamcast so I’m new to these games
> earning curve
This game has literally zero depth to it, what the fuck kinda "learning curve" are you talking about
>all these people bashing jsr for its old control scheme
I am sorry the game isn't like your usual cinematic 3rd person experience.
Gum does the job just as well and Yo-Yo isn't available from the get go. Plus, why not just use Noise Tank at that point?
No one even talks about those two games, user.
>This game has literally zero depth to it
Next time try a little harder.
>Those games
I want to Cum-Cum on Gum-Gum!
not even episode one?
