Is there any calculations how much DPS skill speed give us? Raw numbers. After all both Fire and Wind have 40% damage up.

So basically, to get your super holy you need to spend 3 GCDs on healing, which could have otherwise been doing by using your oGCDs. That's 3 GCDs you could have spent on Glare equalling to a total of 900 potency (the same potency as Super Holy). Except now you need to spend an additional GCD to cast Super Holy, meaning you've lost that 300 potency.
The reason you'd want to use Cure II instead of the instant Lily Cure II is because it outputs the same healing potency, using the same GCD, except you don't have to commit that 3 more GCDs to getting Super Holy back to return the value of your lost GCD.
The part where you get an instant GCD every 30 seconds seems nice on paper, but WHM already has one of those in the form of Regen which works out as being more healing per GCD compared to Cure II and Lily Cure II.
The free Medicas might be okay for doing healing, but it's still forcing you to commit to finishing off the Super Holy with more Lillies down the line. A Medica III cast gives substantially more Healing per GCD. Cure III is a similar argument.

Really, all this does is make's WHM easier to play for bad healers. For good WHMs, it's yet again a trap where lillies are better of ignored over just using your regular tools.

So I see you fitting in 4, maybe 5 basic combo actions in, giving you 600/750 potency from that alone, along with 6 attacks from automaton queen, bringing that up an additional 900, and assuming at the bare minimum you fit in on OCD between each attack giving you another 600/750 potency, you could get up to 2100/2400 potency, no?

Heat Blast has a 1.5s recast, so just spam it. All the tool weaponskills trigger the global cooldown so you don't want to use them during WF.

What? If you're using Cure II then the GCD is already spoken for and there's no reason not to use Afflatus. You've lost the potency regardless and if on your fourth GCD you're casting Glare you could've been casting Misery instead for a 600 potency gain over Glare. Why wouldn't I use Misery instead?

Any BLM mains around? Or anyone else really. How much potency does BLM fire 4 have in reality? Tooltip says 300 but then I'm not sure if I'm taking all the other buffs into account. First there's magick and mend 2 which is 30% so +90. Then there's enochian which is 15% so +45. Then there's astral fire 3 which is 80% so +240. Total 675 but I'm not sure if there's something I'm missing or if magick and mend should even be accounted for. I feel like I don't know what I'm doing so can anyone who actually know BLM tell me if I did something wrong?

DPS healers is a fucking problem. If you have downtime, yes, go ahead, throw some rocks. But healers are HEALERS. They don't need and should not want a full fledged "dps rotation".

THE ACTUAL ACT OF RESTORING HP should be the interesting part of being a healer. If that part isn't interesting, don't as to be a discount DPS, fix the core fucking problem.

We don't have information about shadowbringers raiding at all. If raids now puke out damage, using 3 gcds every 90s isn't exactly anything out of this world since WHM already does it with cure II and medica II.

Paladin looks pretty awesome. Also do all tanks have a spam phase now? Paladin still has holy spirit, but also holy circle for aoe and atonement during the physical part of the rotation. Warrior still has inner release for fell cleave/decimate I think, and dark knight now can spam bloodspiller/quietus with delirium.

Actually I don't think Gunbreaker does, but maybe that whole rip, tear and gouge is the gimmick.

You have the right of it, around 675 potency is its true value after all passive buffs are accounted for. It works out to a shit-ton of actual damage because of how other damage-additional calculations (ie direct and critical hits) work and BLM's rotation revolving around spamming that one high-potency skill.

Reminder that Yoshi confirmed that healers will be expected to do more healing in SHB. You'll actually feel the damage soon.

Parry unfortunately still exists, they've just been phasing it out since its worthless in game where 99% of meaningful damage is magic.

Enmity rotation and dps rotation are just different looking 123 combos. Really no reason to have both, especially since enmity rotation is only used sparingly.

Actively working towards the Super Holy because it's "big 900 potency!!!" is the same reason you don't currently want to use Lillies to reduce the cooldown of Assize, for example.
Forcing yourself to use a GCD for the sake of earning something later is a sunk cost fallacy. You'd be better off just using Cure II and not committing yourself to having to use another 3 GCDs again down the line to try and make back your potency loss.
In fact, you'd be better off just using Regen since it's instant, low mana cost, and has higher healing potency at the end.

Sure, but telling me to use Cure II instead of Afflatus makes absolutely no sense in the event I do have to GCD heal. If they do the same thing except one has an instant cast and builds a resource that eventually leads to 900 potency, there is no mathematical reason I shouldn't use that instead. I can use it while moving because it's an instant-cast, for Christ's sake.

A HoT is not a replacement for a GCD heal unless they are receiving no damage in the time it takes to reach that point.

In Stormblood BLM will win for DPS-over-time because it can do those hard-hitting attacks normally instead of having to build up attacks the way SAM, the second-highest DPS job, does. I'd have to crunch numbers (and will probably end up waiting until release to do so accurately) to figure out how BLM and SAM stack up to eachother in ShB though since SAM seems to shit potency in short timespans now.

It's sunk cost fallacy. Using it once is now dedicating yourself to having to use 3 more GCDs on casting the 900 potency attack in order to try and make back what you've lost. That's all the 900 potency attack is - making back what you can potentially lose.
The only time where this isn't the case is when you're using your healing during times when the boss is intargettable, at which it does become useful.
But those situations are exactly that, situational. Using it for active healing entraps you in to having to continue towards using it - which isn't an ideal situation to be in.
Whenever I play WHM doing Ultimate tier content, I never have to use Cure II due to how my co-healer and myself coordinate. I never have to use Medica either for the exact same reasons.

The design of the game is the root problem. Fights are all boiled down to "Kill it as fast as possible". The meta is even centered around the efficiency for the fastest kills, not efficiency around smoothest clears. As unlikely as it is, If we're lucky the shit in ShB might be more like the latter. Some shit where fights aren't strictly just enrage-timer races to the finish with occasional speedbumps you have to get good at predicting/memorizing

Considering the new mp only system is tied to all the job changes and wouldn't work with the current set up I don't think so.

Its probably a Bardom's mettle situation where multiple factors stack up to have everything shit on your tank a lot harder than you expect.

No you are not, because those spells are not the same thing. First off, you're falsely assuming only Solace will be used and not Rapture; Rapture equals Regen if you hit four party members and outclasses it if you hit more. Secondly, Regen is a REGEN in that it heals over time, if I need that healing asap then the boss isn't going to wait kindly for four ticks of regen (TWELVE SECONDS) that it takes for it to beat Solace. There's a reason Solace is a new spell and not a replacement for regen; they serve different purposes, and it's up to you to figure out what is better where.

No it doesn't, because that's an absolute nonsense point. "Lilys are bad because using them efficiently can maybe cause you to make inefficient decisions"? Alright. I'm looking at the new tools they both have now and it seems like BLM was mostly unchanged. It has a ST flare they can finish fire with and their new foul is a bit more powerful (in ST) and instant but that's not really much. Compared to that SAM got more shiny stuff and shiny potencies. If BLM stayed (virtually) untouched while SAM got shiny stuff, could one not make an argument that in SHB SAM will just deal more by nature?

If I was healing in the first place and reaching for one of the two spells then I've lost nothing by farting out a Cure II or Medica with instant cast-time. "Sunk cost" makes no sense, you're telling me to do something that's a bigger waste of time so I don't get "trapped" into expending my job-gauge. In and of itself you're treating the Afflatus heals as though they're just wasted GCDs and that doesn't make any sense either when they're "spell, but better and builds job-gauge". I've lost nothing if I was reaching for a GCD heal to begin with (I actually save MP and cast-time that could otherwise be spent popping a different oGCD as the situation demands) and your proposed math doesn't check out or even come anywhere close to it.
