I'm guessing Kojima doesn't know how fucking stupid this stuff sounds to actual English speakers. It's like when some characters have fancy names meaning something in latin or some other dead language but people don't register them as silly names since they can't speak the language. So Kojima is using his galaxy brain to name these characters using English and getting high off his brilliant foreshadowing while it sounds dumb as fuck to English speakers.

Sam Lake manages to do this way better but I guess it's because the names are tongue in cheek.
