I liked the ryona in there

best n64 game of all time
no contest

Game's fuckin' cool. Proud to own a copy.

Also, you can hear the stock computer sound effects from that game in every tv show ever.

It was hard as balls and my 10 year old self couldn't beat it years ago...just got a copy recently and finally cleared it it was still hard as balls, it was quite cathartic.

Very fun and underrated gem, still don't understand why Vela got all of the intense as fuck stages though (Ichor, Goldwood lodge, etc)

I loved it as a child. I worry that playing it again after so much time will bring it down so I haven't touched in years.

Also, it was the first game I played where the soundtrack really impressed me. I do go back to the tracks every once in a while.

One of the few games that I beat as a kid that I look back and think "Wait how the fuck did I beat that as a stupid child".
The final boss took me months.

I never understood why they made him so ridiculous compared to the other bosses. I understand he was the final boss but holy shit nothing came even close to how focused you had to be to take this asshole down, I was not prepared.

They are ded, so Nintendo commissioned Platinim Games into making a spiritual successor. Seriously, the MCs are twins tyqt work for a futuristic police force, they have heavy blue theme (their hairs also turn blue when the stand is active), the stand has a dog form and there is even a robot buddy.

It was a different time.

A better time

also her butt is hanging out

A fantastic game with a top tier ost and feel. I played the absolute FUCK out of it as a child but I never beat it because I refused to gather the 200+ bears. I finally did it recently for its 20th anniversary and I will be beating it 2 decades later. Wish it got a sequel or remaster, but at least a RARE interview showed the devs still care for it.

Are you me, user? It is a game desperate for a remaster with stable FPS and better controls so the game doesn't rely so much on autoaim. The weapons are awesome and it has a ton of small details. Being able to shoot grenades out of the hands of enemies is fucking awesome.

It's not

Good game. Considered an underrated gem even during the N64 days. Before the internet was big, it felt like I was the only one who even heard of it. Come to think of it, it was probably my first experience with a shooter.

I never beat it though. I made it to Mizar's palace but don't remember much after that.

The best part really was the music, which went from bombastic to dramatic and thoughtful. The boss theme is one of my favorites ever.

I smile whenever I run into a jfg fan. If you can give the xbone version a try. It's got an update to the controls and has wide-screen support. What's funny is that the enemies and their bullets move at twice the intended speed. It was a rough wake up call for me, but it makes for a thrilling experience.

Personally I only recommend people play up to the first 4 bosses. If I recall, the game immediately switches to backtrack hell where you have to just search these giant levels for useless space parts. I recall that entire section of the game being boring and confusing, with no bosses to tide you over until you finally fight Mizar the second time at the end.

It's been a while since I've played it though, so maybe it's not as bad as I remember. Either way, working up to those first four bosses was still amazing to me, and I think you get most of the experience by doing so, music and all.

How do people get off to this? Like, ryona's not my thing, but I can least see where people are coming from when it comes to fighting games or games with a lot of intricate death scenes with a lot of moaning and screaming or whatever. But here she just does a flip and then lies there, what's the appeal in that?

I can see Microsoft rebooting it down the line.

i hate women

you could make a file where you already got all the tribals and space ship parts then copy it. i used to do this for this game and wind waker, another game with unnecessary padding.
