I'm using this weapon for the first time and I feel like I'm missing something.
It's slower, has worse range, less stagger, and seems like less overall damage than the moonlight sword and kirkhammer I'm currently using.

Get flat arcane gems (from the brainsuckers in the chalice dungeons) and only use the transformed running R1s.
Boom you are a PvP/PvE God.
