People keep making shitty, awful, barebones Mario 64 and Zelda graffix demos in UE4. And like always, Reddit just slurps that shit up, especially in the Youtube comments.

He didn't, he just recreated the movement from Mario 64 (probably stole the model and animations) and imported it into various already existing Unreal Engine 4 demos.

Not really for general Nintendo fan work, it's supposed to be used for "remakes" that completely miss the point of the original's look and just try to make everything look as realistic as possible.

people constantly shit out these over-detailed unreal engine adaptations of their favorite nintendo game, usually with the following attributes:
>completely stock grassy field and blue sky, assets from free asset store
>completely default engine lighting
>horrible motion/animations if any at all
>again, uncomfortable levels of hyper-detail/realism in the way the character is textured/lit, because it's "better graphics"
>what the project actually shows is that they modeled mario/link (or downloaded a model) and rigged it to a skeleton, and figured out how to make a launchable .exe
>sometimes they've modeled an environment, and you see the character hopping around in it. maybe an enemy!
>invariably endless comments beneath the video in absolute breathless awe. "NINTENDO, HIRE THIS MAN!", "HOLY SHIT, KICKSTART THIS!"

Whenever someone makes something old look new and pretty but nothing else someone normies think that makes them more than qualified to work at a company who clearly does not give a shit about graphics

it also happens a lot with sega. I'm not saying these engines are really nice but at the same time physics aren't everything for Sonic; you need to actually design levels

the other point is that the "games" never have actually any modified physics. the jumps are pathetically floaty, etc. with the character just blinking off the ground into a perfect parabola
