Rool, but it does seem weird to me that he's in smash, DK himself is the original Nintendo villain, so having a villain from his franchise being recurring seemed redundant, so Retro Studios decided to change things up, yet Sakurai of all people wanted to revive him, I love seeing the old evil croc king return, but seeing people shit on ashley made me very unhappy

Ashley and K.Rool's Rivalry is nothing but typical v shitposting user. The only reason its a thing is because both characters represented such different aspects as representation for their series, K.Rool was a classic villain and long awaited but suffered from relevancy and nintendo forgetting his existence. Ashley has a newer game and could offer another Wario rep, but was also considered too much of a minor side character (plus v's obsession with arguing about pedo shit). I've always been an avid K.Rool fan and I never was against the idea of Ashley getting in, but thats the nature of v, if there is a war that could be had, it will be. Now a days shitposters have just spun the whole thing on its head, K.Rool use to be irrelevant and dead, but now he is "Super important to the DKC series" and very relevant, so he can be used to argue against other characters being included. Not much you can do about it really I'm afraid.

But the thing is, most of us Waluigi fanboys learned to suck it up and moved on to supporting characters that have an actual legitimate chance in Smash such as Banjo Kazooie, Erdrick, Doomguy and Minecraft Steve. Actual Ashleyfag here, most of us moved on from rosterfag discussion. We're not the big evil boogeyman that plagues Smash threads because the state of Smash threads took a complete nosedive after we left. I think it's about time for everyone to realize that the cancer that has been ruining Smash threads has always been rosterfags themselves, not one single special group, but it's rosterfaggotry in it's entirety. K. Rool is technically a Donkey Kong character. While it's true Rare created him, it's more like a fan-fiction character than a true representation of Rare.
I mean, if you ask me, I feel Rare doesn't actually have any original characters. I always thought they had this habit of aping their games off of other things. Banjo-Kazooie is their version of Mario 64, after all. But Banjo I think is still more of an iconic, original character from Rare than K. Rool.
That said, my personal pick for a Rareware rep would be battletoads, even though they're Ninja Turtle knockoffs.
