All the people on the island are called eldians and are a stand in for jews, 100 years ago the eldian king decided to seal himself and as many of his people possible away on the island and set up the walls
But there were still eldians left on the mainland and they all got imprisoned by people in a country called Marley and rounded up into fenced in neighborhoods and they all have to wear armbands that show they are eldians and treated like 3rd class citizens
Eren killed their leader though and now the entire world wants to kill the eldians because they fear the titans

I do the same for books, if the ending is good i'll be more hooked to read though it all

that's not the plan, zeke wants to use the founding titan's power to turn all eldians sterile so that nobody has to be born into his situation.

And Silent Hill.
And Fatal Frame for that matter.
