If they were to make a Sparda game prequel to the DMC games what do you want in it?
If they were to make a Sparda game prequel to the DMC games what do you want in it?
At least for gameplay and for the story that is...
and what would be different about this?
also post some sparda art.
For them to very explicitly and clearly explain how the fuck Sparda died instead of just vaguely going “Oh, he died when Dante was a kid.”
Gameplay over story.
Definitely not that shitty Beethoven design from 5.
Less cheese more hockey RE style take on the narrative.
I like your style.
how heavy would the violence and stuff be?
Thanks for reminding how fucking awful the DMC5 Sparda looks
I'm sorry friend, surely we can have it changed the fuck back in the sparda game.
Have it span different eras and parts of the globe. First couple of missions could be the dark ages when he first rebels against Hell, the next could be when he rules Fortuna, then he travels around fighting demons until he settles down in Redgrave.
Last mission is him dying in battle against Mundus' hordes. He's sad that he won't see his family again but has faith that the boys will protect the world in his stead. Credits roll, cue stinger of Dante answering the phone in his office.
THAT WOULD BE GREAT, YES, THIS SO MUCH.
imagine all of the cool artwork going into the game that they might add for the extras.
the intro guys
it's perfect
youtube.com
actually, maybe that's not a bad thing.
what kind of powers does sparda get ingame?
Or would you want that to be a surprise?
TWO
W
O
>if we got a sparda game, we would have cutscenes with nevan and beowulf again
This, I like.
His battle against Mundus.
Mundus' backstory.
His meeting with Eva / saving her.
I've been waiting for Devil May Cry Origins since fucking 2001 I'm not even kidding.
I'd bet sparda would have something similar to Dante with his styles but a reduced amount
Say for example swordmaster jester and royal guard and maybe near the end he gets Yamato as an extra style
Oh my fucking god same, like can we get one now please we waited for years.
What was Sparda's personality like?
Was he cool badass like Vergil or cocky cynical like Dante?
What about a mix of both?
I've been dying forever to find out.
Why won't Capcom even make this game? It would be such a great ideas, seriously.
I don't want one. I like all the mystery surrounding Sparda. Besides, the Netflix show is probably going to focus on that anyway.
Sparda was Sparda, he acted like himself, he was gentle in some cases and tough when he needed to be, he had the mindset of a true warrior and honor came first.
He had his light moments and when he got very angry it was powerful to watch.
that's fine, but we do,
you don't have to play it.
>it's the autismo plebbit fag
kys we aren't getting one
I would because I like the DMC series and I'd at least be curious enough to see how they deliver on it, but again the Netflix series is probably going to cover that stuff.
Do you really think they'll follow through to it's core the way you'd like?
I unironically don't want Itsuno going back and turning Sparda into an overdesigned, undersaturated, and limp-dicked manchild like he has with the other characters.
At this point just give it to Kamiya and let him fuck it up. At least that way the characters and look of the game will actually remain consistent to previous entries.
It'd be interesting to see how that would play out and see what made them driving mad.
For one, DMC: Origins would be a chance to get more DMC Gothic kino a e s t h e t i c instead of urban cyberpunk demon shit.
Something in the likes of William Blake's Marriage of Heaven and Hell.
Also Mundus was so fucking cool, I want to know exactly why he became corrupt, his relationship with Sparda, how Sparda came to protect / love humans.
There's seriously SO MUCH potential for an amazing prequel if done right.
But modern Capcom would fuck it up, probably.
If you're referring to the Netflix show then no. I think it's dumb they're doing a show on DMC in the first place, but I'm just saying I feel like that's the most likely avenue they'll take.
I feel like the gothic aesthetic of the first game came from Kamiya. I don't think they'd be able to capture the same feeling again.
I'd rather have the prequel game, but I hope the anime turns out well anyways.
>Something in the likes of William Blake's Marriage of Heaven and Hell.
Moving away from the Divine Comedy and out into oh-shit-nigger-what-the-fuck-are-you-doing territory is why we're stuck with dumbshit characters like Nero and Sanctus to begin with. DMC5 taking that even further into an entirely different author is how we got stuck with pointless dumbshit like Urizen and V.
I'd rather have neither but here we are
You know... it'd be a great chance to play as someone a little more original in terms of style and use the sparda sword before they fucked it up twice in a row in the 5th game.
Eh, I understand the sentiment, that's why I said modern Capcom would fuckit up if they were to embark on the project.
But the gothic art direction could come from even Itsuno or another game director. It's just a matter of wanting to go there in the first place. Kamiya did it well at the time because of Castlevania/Resident Evil/DinoCrisis influences. DMC1 also was conceived as a horror game in some way. They would have to try to get that feel for Origins as well.
>I feel like the gothic aesthetic of the first game came from Kamiya
It didn't, Kamiya hates spooky shit, he even hates ghosts and zombies, the gothic aesthetic came from it originally being an RE game
I guess in terms of aesthetics....
It could resemble Demon's Souls's darkest portions mixed with DMC1's hell a small tad bit.
Who would be your first pick to motion capture and voice as Sparda?
I really hope that the low-fidelity plastic/polished mud look of the Souls games doesn't start some ironically ugly wave of games a few years from now.
I want for it not to exist period. The opening of DMC1 should always have that cool mystique surrounding it, fuck you faggots wanting to ruin that.
Me too buddy, so do I.
>Definitely not that shitty Beethoven design from 5.
Wot?
I think modern Capcom's competent enough to do well, but I don't think it's smart to try and chase things from an era that's been and gone. That gothic aesthetic was only in the first game and I don't know how well it could be recaptured today after the change in tone the series has gone through.
You're not wrong with that horror aspect originally coming from the initial RE4 plans, but those concepts still came from Kamiya.
any other aesthetic you picture going into the sparda game?
>Who would be your first pick to motion capture
No one. Just animate it like they're supposed to. Sparda doesn't need to look like a giant power rangers monster with overly expressive body language that you'd only see at a party full of drunk Italians.
>voice as Sparda?
Drew Coombs for the callback.
Based. There's a simplicity to it all that works well, especially for DMC which was more scaled back in a lot of ways compared to later entries.
No offense but no, I want a totally different voice.
Something that sounds like Sparda for real.
How many missions should it have?
20 of them again or much longer than other DMC entries?
0
This genuinely gives me DmC vibes and that's not a good thing
Oh yeah, he looks silly. I figured since he's supposed to be a full blooded demon he'd look more like his costume alts. He'd want to keep himself looking young and attractive for his wife after all.
As long as it's not Langdon it'd probably be fine. But Coombs would still be better than any other choice regardless.
How would Mundus even be like in this game?
I'm so bloody curious mates... shit it's been a while since we got a game like the original dmc1...
Everything in DMC5 was DmC influenced. DmC went for that "realism" face-scanned look first, and wanted that neon-punk shit that Nero has become entirely. Also everything about Vergil is Vorgil inspired to the extreme, they even fight the same.
I agree with that one at least.
desu I'm glad that Dante did not have to fight Sparda's form with his brother with Arkham being in Sparda's shape, it would've made me sad...
It still felt like DMC 3 and 4, but that image definitely doesn't
Well we're certainly not gonna do that shit in a Sparda Prequel... It needs gothic tones insteads.
DMC5 took all the good ideas from DmC (that were likely added by Capcom themselves once they got involved into the DmC development) such as the style announcer and slow-down on the final hit of a fight, and abandoned all of the shit.
They're mature game developers that can pick apart good and bad pieces instead of writing everything off as "shit" because you don't like the entire package. They're adults while you're still stuck with a childish mentality.
Nobody is going to defend DmC, but it had a couple good ideas that were taken.
You think it should have enemies that can only be fought in one difficulty?
You're right, keeping it digital would make for a better playing experience....
I liked DMC3's ability to be able to pick either yellow or gold...
it is weird that they added that shooting airplane thing at the end of DMC1 with the battle against mundus.
This looks like such shit compared to Sparda's concept in DMC1's art.
would like to play him in demon form, his devil trigger should be like nero, a stand-like avatar, puff the dragon which dante summons in the battle against mundus. devil bringer would be nice, nero must have inherited from him. as sdt sparda could transform into a physical version of that dragon as his true form
He looks classic in that DMC1 Sparda human form.
Wonder what the theme music should sound like....
huh, that might be a cool tattoo idea? thoughts?
get it in the color purple.
in terms of level design... what could they do a lot differently in Sparda prequel?
And no, I don't want the gothic style of DMC1....
I want the hellish style for a Sparda game
>They're adults
Then why is DMC4&5 so superficial and childish?
At this point I just want a new director, honestly. I'm so fucking tired of these fucking garbage enemy rosters. How the fuck do you manage to not make an enemy roster that's as solid and near perfect as a near 20 year old game.
Now your arguments are devolving into dreadfully wrong territory and I don't think I have it in me to continue to gratify you with a response. Goodbye.
Eeewwww....
That's not an argument it's a critique, retard.
>went for that "realism" face-scanned look first
There was no face scanning in DmC and DMC2 had a pretty realistic face render if you asked me
>and wanted that neon-punk shit that Nero has become entirely
That has nothing to do with DmC though...
>Also everything about Vergil is Vorgil inspired to the extreme, they even fight the same.
And everything about Vorgil is Vergil inspired to the extreme, they even fight the same, what's your point?
>He thinks shit-story half demon sentai weeb shit isn't childish.
That's the whole series tho
Why is DMC1 the only DMC game that's actually fun to play on DMD.
Well the Sparda game will definitely be more mature.
It's amazing how DMC is a near two decade old franchise and there is not a single fucking render of Sparda using Sparda.
I know it irritates me...
because most of the shit that was attributed to Sparda has been retconned somehow.
What would retconning have anything to do with a render of Sparda wielding his own sword? The only time you ever get to see it even remotely is DMC1's intro.
closest we have is a mod
And Vergil is getting his ass handed to him by dad...
Can someone do this in DMC4 so I can use a Sparda that doens't look like total shit
That was already made I think...
what would the music be like for the soundtrack? a mix of DMC1 and 3 with an older feel to it?
can we fly in the sparda game?
youtube.com
youtube.com
these two combined.
Now if only they didn't fuck up the design in dmc5 for the sparda sword that would have been cool.
Can we get alternate costumes in the prequel game as well?
this is touching.
Oh my god... the DmC Sparda concept art... Is surprisingly good.... Too bad the game was shit.
>Fake concept art
What did he mean by this?
I meant fan-concept-art...
If you could even call it that..
this pic is sad and happy
It's just fanart for a reboot Sparda that doesn't look like DmC Sparda
it looks cooler than the actual DmC version of him.
>went to Momocon
>saw Reuben signing autographs
>guy brings him a pizzabox to sign with a slice still in it if he's hungry
>Reuben says he's on a diet but thanks him, signs the box and the pizza
What did we do to deserve this man?
he signed his autograph on the back of a pizza?
he signed the pizza and the box
jpg that up some more thanks
Can't find anything like that in higher quality for some reason...... Sorry.
Yea Forumsros I can't take it...
my mind is imagining me playing the game for me and it looks so wonderful...
Imagine getting the autograph signed by the voice actor for sparda...
so precious
