The idea is actually pretty genius. After self inserting as Joker for so long, you get to see some other nerd guy who is probably more similar to you than you'd like to admit, but then the game goes "yeah, but he's getting dunked on and you're not". It makes you feel like you're nothing like him when in reality you're very much like him.

I mean the parts where they convince her to go out to the beach and get swim suits or some shit.

And this is why the Persona franchise will never reach its true potential and remain as a waifu simulator. Protip: A cartoon isn't your waifu

I loved P5 but the way they talk about "adults" as a separate type of human from adolescents was jarring and stupid and definitely made it feel very kiddy.
