Zero could be a Metal Gear plot if we take out the planes. There is also the "militarized corporations taking over the world" thing in AC3 and the way every other character goes on and on about how war is bad and there are no villains or heroes, etc etc.
It hits a lot of similar tones but the series as a whole has a lot more in common with Gundam than MGS.
