Post your Sony E3 predictions

Stages were nice; but, they always resulted in fluff like the shitty Sony presentation last year, or the dumb car reveal at Xbox the year before. Even last years games focused Xbox show had far more time wasted on transitions relative to a Direct. Something is lost with the stage; but, the main appeal, watching live simultaneously with everyone, is preserved in a Direct.

All I want out of e3 is trailers though.
I dont want to sit through 10 min of flutes

Guess what: you always had that. Nobody ever forced you to watch the conferences and the trailers were available online just a few minutes after the conference. So you always had the option to watch only watch the trailers and never had to whine about too much talking or whatever.

But now I don't have the option to watch the conferences oldschool style anymore. Soon everybody will pull a Sony and just spoil the event by uploading all relevant trailers beforehand, or do it like Nintendo and make cringy sketch videos.

Thanks for ruining one of the last few big events I looked forward to during the year.

Confirmed for not watching E3. The last time they did those was 2015. Nintendo Direct is just a leaner stage show without the live audience, prefer the actual stage show if you like, but don't pretend they're more different than similar.

Sony is done for, after this e3 they have given up an entire gen to xbox again. Its so sad how sony cant even win when we tell them to. Time playing around is finshed we are going to fix the industry now.

Why argue semantics? And, you just ignored being refuted on actual points like not knowing they hadn't done skits in four years. It's the same thing minus the wideshots of the people in the theatre when you wanted a fullshot of the trailer, and having to hear tasteless journo's clap for dumb stuff. There would be more Wii Music stuff if they went back, so as to please the financial reporters and investors who would be in the theatre.

We're just different people. You probably only want infos about games. That's it. I want the entire hoopla around that stuff. The new Death Stranding trailer? Didn't even watch it. I mean, why spoil myself parts of the game? The only reason I watched trailers during E3 before and enjoyed them was because it was a big community event. It's the difference between watching a normal soccer game and the finale of the world champtionship. Soon I'll just wait for the games to be released and then check them out because I have zero interest in watching trailers for unreleased games UNLESS the trailer feels special due to its surroundings.

It's the last thing I actually remembered despite watching Nintendo every year. Probably because there just isn't anything memorable left.

It still is? The journos and investors in the theatre just got cut out. The surrounding's still feel special because it's livestreamed, everyone is watching, and the prerecorded format allows higher excitement by removing transitions and dead air from the old format.

Nope. Sony uploading the Death Stranding trailer several weeks before E3 already shows where this is going. Soon everybody will just upload their trailers whenever and people will watch it on demand whenever they feel like it.

And watching something that isn't live simply isn't special. It's not happening right now and they just did a million takes until everything turned out the way they wanted it to. There's no more room for something enexpecting to happen, like for instance a live demo not working as intended (Skyward Sword).

Yes that's what I've heard too. But in a podcast I listened to, they speculated about Sony's and MS's colaboration even going further in order to fend off other big players stealing the gaming market from them (i.e. Amazon).

Death Stranding trailer was livestreamed not uploaded, albeit I understand you want it as part of a larger event which is agreeable. Death Stranding is just an exception, since Sony opted out this year; however, I don't see a reason to expect them or anyone else to drop out next year or in the immediate future. Keep in mind it's a good sign that Death Stranding got a hyped up livestream when they opted out of an event this year; since, it shows that live content is still a priority.
If you want imperfection that's strange, but I get it. I still would argue that it's more similar than it is different, and you still have Ubisoft or Bethesda, if you want laughs and cringe.

topkek. the feedback you and the majority of people are giving is: "just show games, don't bother with any of that other shit" Why would Sony or any other company waste a couple million bucks on big events if they can just upload trailers to satisfy their target audience?

Are you retarded? Trailers are made in advance. There was nothing live about that "live" stream. No event shown was happening the time the audience saw it. It being a stream was deceptive. I also didn't notice any hype since I completely missed it but that could be my fault.
