I like arcade racers!
I like simulators!
[spoilers]FUCK SIMCADES[/spoiler]
opinions on this game
let me help you with that user
Shut up, GRID is fucking amazing.
>F1 has a game
>nascar has a game
>the fucking european truck championship is getting a game
>indycar doesn't
FUCK TOYOTA
god i hope they announce gran turismo 7 in e3.
Just picked this up, its stupidly fun
>kartshit
>everyone is welcome
I need a new game that has fucking awesome drifting. Can I get some suggestions?
will probably be a PS5 "launch" game, gt sport is still active and updated monthly
all those fuckers have to do is making a more fleshed out career mode with qualifying sessions and dynamic weather
including people that don't like kartshit faggot
SHAPE
Proper rush sequel when?
Aaaa I hope Microsoft has daytona usa on sale
Thanks
I had seen that edit and tried to lazily replicate it, and kept it because I thought the " Video Game " was funny.
they should bring back all tracks from previous games too.
i would fucking kill to have ssr11, hong kong, costa di amalfi, seattle circuit, and other tracks back.
I've been playing Grid 2 lately and it's fun as hell. Pretty hyped for the new Grid that was just announced.
I also bought Burnout Paradise Remastered because I loved Burnout 3 and never played Paradise, but I fucking hate paradise. Open world is so pointless and the races not actually having tracks annoys the shit out of me. I'm sure some people really like that about the races, but it just doesn't do it for me.
Been playing DiRT Rally as well, but that game is so fucking hard. And it's kind of a bummer that most races are on singletrack so you don't get to actively race the other drivers, just their times. Still a great game though, and the cockpit view is the best I've ever seen.
you didn't list any arcade racers, you listed kart racers. Totally different games
>Ridge Racer gets no love
youtu.be
what are you thinking you did a paradox now we'll have to
they should bring back all the original and city GT5 tracks plus spa francorschamps and monaco for teh lulz
thoughts on this one Yea Forums?
for me, its a great fucking game. the psp version (which i played a lot) is the most superior one since you can play it pretty much everywhere. the ps2 version is fine if you want graphics.
>Never ever getting Rome Night from GT2 again
Jalopy isn't racing, i know, but can we talk about it? Are there any games quite like it?
fuck, didnt upload the image
I knew about the initial d games but the cars in videos always looked like they are running on tracks if that makes any sense. Haven't actually tried playing to see if it feels better than it looks yet though.
Fact:
Mario Kart is the only fun racing game
Lads...it got updated. TIME TO UPDATE!
youtu.be
Everyone should play this game, it's absolutely amazing
I need to get this game.
i also like sim-lite games like gran turismo and forza but eventually the races get too long. also racing actual race cars with realistic physics is tedious and i can't believe many people are really into it.
you cant judge it from vieo alone, you need to play itm realise how slow you are, watch someone fast, learn what he does and then do that, now you know how to D
I still have ps1 ridge racer with the steering wheel and pedal rig. I haven't forgotten.
>Totaly not wipeout.jpg
I just want a new midnight club lads...
if anything the races in gt are too short and don't leave room for strategy
la is absolute kino, thank you for fighting the good fight user
keep flashing those beams
Whta does Turbo add in comparison with the phone game?
i haven't played gt since 4 but that had incredibly long races including an actual 24 hour race
Simcades are good for when you just wanna relax and not deal with the complexity and difficulty of sims, but also don't want something too mindless like an arcade racer
yeah but most races are max 10 laps, compared to games like F1 where most people do 25% or 50% races
it also doesn't really feel like a race since the AI is mostly following a line and not attacking or defending
It's totally Wipeout...and that's a good thing!
iirc, last year someone who works at sega mentioned in his twitter they were working on a new daytona usa project. I wonder what happened.
Also it's sad they never ported daytona hd to pc.
yeah us poorfags who can't afford a wheel need games too
also simcades are usually more polished and provide a better "game" experience
You mean wip3out
And yes it's that just better
>faster
>mod/workshop support
>3 physics modes
>challenging yet fair
Best game
Grid 2 still looks pretty nice as well, meant to post a screenshot
it looks like the track is moving around the car instead of the car moving through the track. It's definitely weird
sad.
>And it's kind of a bummer that most races are on singletrack so you don't get to actively race the other drivers
that's just how rallying is, besides rallycross
motorstorm apocalypse is the only racing game I've ever liked
I haven't found anything even close for ps4
Play the other motorstorm games.
I miss the weekly threads
We should have some again
It feels better in first person, but this is a common problem in jap racers they feel too twitchy and weightless never striking a balance between being arcade but still having cars with weight.
Why is Forza so much better than Gran Turismo? I play them both equally, but something about Forza is more fun. Not even talking about Horizon, but the mainline games.
yeah, I don't fault the game for it. I just really like racing against opponents so I can hit them or block them
forza feels like it was made with love
gran turismo feels like it was created with autism
>2019
>simulated head motion in cockpit view still isn't a standard mechanic in sims
Playing Assetto Corsa with the plugin made it very hard to go back to cockpit modes in other games, it feels so much more natural what the hell
This is the best cartoony/kart racer ever made and nobody played it except me. Its only flaw was reusing environmental assets from Excite Truck.
you mean the camera moving in the direction of turns?
F1 and pcars2 have that
Yeah exactly that, hope it sticks around never even thought I needed this feature until I tried it
Why would I be sad when I'm going so fast?
I had Excite Truck, what a fucking blast to play that was.
simcades truly are a cnacer
I saw a webm in a racing thread the other day. It was a low poly future racer. Help me out, boys.
your right
>if it feels better than it looks yet though
it doesnt
>Driving down a straightaway
>Chase view behind car
>The faster you go, the more the camera zooms out
Games with this feel?
Hey Yea Forums, you've ever been to the top?
Die in a car accident
I played this and I don't remember liking it. The pressure to do stuff besides race is stupid.
There's already plenty of CTR threads so...
Wacky Wheels.
Posting the best racing game ever made.
youtube.com
It had great music, I'll give you that
nice word salad in the copy
Fuck right off, dude. I've played every single RR game, even Unbounded, and this was easily the worst.
>Changed the soundtrack from pumping techno to bossanova shit
>Forced lame narrative structure that barely changes between teams
>Worst unlock system to ever come out of the series
About the only good thing to come out of this was Move Me. Play Type V, or DS, then come back and tell me this is peak racing. Fucking pathetic.
I prefer V or RR2 (psp)
>so I can hit them or block them
so youre an asshole.
Gran Turismo 1 and 2 provide more content and less jank on the same system
Initial D Zero is so lame. I was able to play it on a 3 day trip our class took to celebrate grad. It’s a massive step down from 8.
>No Eurobeat (there’s a couple tracks but they’re low tier and you have to unlock them. It’s a grind.)
>Less cars than previous games
>Story mode gimped completely
>Costs to play are high as fuck
>So obviously another reskin of 7AA like 8 was
It just screams low budget.
great idea, decent execution
I make two trips a month to the Round 1 here to play Maximum Tune 5 and Outrun 2 SP (has a CRT screen and everything pure authenticity).
I love the credits in Ridge Racer V.
youtube.com
If you'll let me blog abit...
The arcade I worked at had Ridge Racer V Arcade Battle but it was using some weird ass third party replacement wheel and my requests for a new gas pedal (would only get the cars up to 40 mph) were ignored. Eventually a fat black woman sit on it and snapped the seat in two. The machine was removed, and nothing was added. We closed 8 months later.
Played RR5 few days back.
Holy shit! That game oozes style
>Boom Boom Satellite
It's based
I also had the game in my arcade. It's dead now though. RIP
BNG should be a shining example to all indie devs attempting to do retro game clones/throwbacks, it does everything right and manages to surpass the games its paying tribute to in most ways plus having custom content just makes it so much better. Soulful, unironically.
>Grid 2
I liked the Career Mode
>Burnout Paradise
I always view it as Hot Wheels simulator, treating cars like toys and open ended tracks like sandbox.
Half the fun for me was learning the map and figuring out the best route; takes time by it's oh-so worth it
>Dirty Rally
You haven't watch the greatest racing game video of all time
youtube.com
>devs would later on make dead space
pretty interesting
Anyone else grab Team Sonic Racing?
I'm having fun with it.
>I love the credits in Ridge Racer V.
These zoomers spout "SOUL!" nonsensically without actually understanding it.
Here is pure SOUL!
SEGA fucked up the regional pricing on Steam, so I'll have to stick to All Stars Transformed
>I am Alpha and Omega. The beginning, and the end.
I got the chance to play this on LAN recently with a buddy as strange as that sounds. it's fun
Grid 2 was fine back then but I have learned that the drifting was suuuuper oversimplified in that game. I have some good memories driving 1v1 battles with randoms and if one of us was left behind the leader would wait them... And then we would try to drive next to each other as fast as possible but without ramming into each other. And sometimes we would drive backwards.
fug I forgot to paste this: webmshare.com
Reminder to buy Driveclub and it's DLC before it's gone forever
OHH TAKE YOUR TOP DOWN
PLAYA, TAKE YOUR TOP DOWN
YOU BRAVE PLAYA, RIDE AROUND WITH YOUR TOP DOWN
TAKE YOUR TOP DOWN
PLAYA, TAKE YOUR TOP DOWN
YOU BRAVE PLAYA, DROP YOUR TOP DOOOWN
I wish Disney didnt kill Blackrock so we could have a sequel for this game.
Ballisticng
>does everything right
>sharpest turns have 15 degrees max
nope fuck off with you baby straight line tracks
Best song in the history of mankind:
youtu.be
Is this game like OutRun or any other old arcade racing game?
I did and I can't enjoy it
the physics are arcade yet they're so fucking strange
arcade racers should be easy to play
theres demo for that game in Steam. in my opinion the game was god awful and has only the style going for it.
Not him but nigga the tracks are harder than the real wipe for the most part, the campaign is really hardcore to gold
Any Initial D games I can get easy enough on PC? or any that I can get in Euro for PS4?
>New Need For Speed won't be at E3
Fug. Guess it's GRID, F1 2019 and the FH4 expansion only at E3.
You can add as much of slowdown by touching wall as possible to ramp up the difficulty but it wont change the fact that you are still racing in a straight pipe. The tracks unironically are soulless trash, not to mention it lacks style or a coherent design.
>F1 2019
would be cool if the shut the lights and played this
youtube.com
before the presentation
retarded or uou didn't play the game. The track are literally harder than any other entries
You honestly sound like a shitter, those straight trends end up being more tense than twisty ones because it's all in very fine steering control and careful air brake usage vs just drifting into corners. With that said BNG has everything
The theme was in last year's game and Codemasters said they worked with Brian Tyler to make a more "Dynamic" version that changes as you move through the race day menus for 2019 and has different variants if you win the race, make your race objective or lose the race objective. It's out at the end of June so it's not going to really feature at E3. The only games likely getting stage time are Forza and The Crew.
What's the best simulator?
Assetto Corsa / Competizione
iRacing
rFactor 2
Something else?
Does anyone even play this or do they just post music/pics of the girl
How can I become a ridge racer and get a cute girl?
verstappen plays rfactor 2
>gold
>webm shows hairpins and 90°+ turns all over the place
>straight pipe
Stop shitposting
>full plat
yawn
HOW YOU FUCKING SUBHUMAN
Like holy shit I had no issue plating HD/Omega but BNG just rape me.
Racing games have the ebst soundtracks
Be rich. This isn't a poor man's sport.
HAND OF BLOOD
> implying you can't become a ridge racer with a fiat punto 1.2 80hp
that's not Ridge Racer 64
Assetto corsa meme value
Where else can you race with a mustang against a kei car, a 4wd integra, a corvette swapped ford dually, a tommykaira with a jet engine, an 86 with a 458 engine and a alfa romeo giulia with a racecar engine
That's more a NFSU thing.
Completely different physics, forget almost everything you learned in new Wipeout. Learn opposite braking to keep your ship stable, bind pitching to shoulder buttons and start pitching up more often, pick Diavolt/Scorpio for races, use boost and recovery lanes for time trials, practice track/ship combos in speed lap, and get a bit lucky with the AI.
Lol I owned this game. Haven't played it in like 20 years. I'm sure it doesn't hold up as well as I remember.
Driveclub is going to he awful solo.
Me too bud
That second precision track made me want to kill myself holy shit
Just finished beating normal mode on this game and the soundtrack was top tier.
Practice practice practice
It's crazy when you perfect a time trial, still dont meet the goal, and then the next race beat your perfect run by like 2 seconds
>tfw they remixed my favorite track from the game
youtube.com
Nicely done, the second track was nightmarish for me too at first but now it's one of my favorite layouts in the entire game, maybe it's just stockholm syndrome
Just brake bro
There's also extreme handling in the options
iracing is where all the nascar pros and dirt racers play
Is Forza Horizon an arcade racer or not?
forums.forzamotorsport.net
Post racing game soundtracks
youtu.be
>mfw the electro bagpipes kick in
that was like worst soundtrack in the game for me. fucking ooga booga out of nowhere
Ridge Racer is always relevant. Shame it's fucking dead.
My fucking buddy. You mean the red and black InterAct wheel and pedals? I've got a set of those and a NegCon for maximum kitsch.
You don't need good physics to do nascar
The entire region is focused around a surviving earth civilization that adapted native american culture. There literally could not be a better song for screaming past giant redwoods, under waterfalls, and through caves all decorated with totem poles and wall carvings
this is kino
Engrish word salad is inherently a part of Japanese auto culture.
IS there a fucking port of Daytona 2.
Please, I beg you, AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH
I love that franchise, a lot of bang per buck and you can play it like that or as somewhat of a realistic sim.
Horizon is definitively the most arcade one.
V is alright but has the world's most boring announcer. Good cars, though, even if the handling definitely takes some getting used to. If nothing else it's one of the high points before nitrous was introduced; after that I'd have to say RR2 PSP, because I'm biased to any game that includes the Crinale in its original appearance instead of the various future-hovercar-whatever redesigns it's gotten.
Horizon is weird. It's running simcade stuff underneath (same as Motorsport, actually) and has simlike tuning out the wazoo, but veers into arcade territory because tire grip is increased so dramatically compared to Motorsport and the abundance of destroyable props by the track, off-roading, constant collisions, etc. I'd still stick it in simcade though, at least if you're playing with assists off (which you should be).
