I think the third game is on Switch now. Should I get it?

I bet my left nut that Saints Row 5 will be announced at E3 this year.

How do you escalate from 4?

Space?

Complete reboot, it was one of the endings in Gat out of Hell

Either that or something like a baby between saints row and mass effect

Time.
I guess there was some sort of time travel already but I mean earthly-historical time travel. Ye Olde Saints

agents of mayhem trash it fucking removed customization for diversity squad

Cop ending would make a great sequel.

The port is terrible, avoid.
The Third isn't even that good they should've just gone straight to IV.

Saints Row 2 is my favorite game of all time but as it gets older and more info and future games came out it became known that it was only good due to dev mistakes and accidents. My favorite thing is despite the game having huge bugs they added a shit ton of unique NPCs around the world a few weeks before it came out

>gat out of hell
>preset protagonist
>removed customization
that was fucking garbage volition are fucking morons

They made Agents of Mayhem as the rebooting of the Saint's Row universe but it failed to catch on.

>Didn’t port 2, the best Saints Row
>Port 3, the worst
>No Septic Avenger while curled up for the night

a think it was okay, not a complete bullshit like agents.

nobody wants to play fucking gat over the boss. even saints row 4 shit on the boss to prop up fucking gat nobody gives a fuck about him.

GoH didn’t have much going for the story over 4 while that’s not saying much but the gameplay and length of GoH made it better from a gameplay standpoint

2>3>1>GoH>4>Agents

3>4>2>GoH
2 might get a bump if it gets a better port. PC version is balls.

Gat Out of Hell was basically just a standalone expansion pack with a popular character, I find it silly to complain about that. Now if they did it for one of the main games that would suck.

Cop ending is literally Agents of Mayhem

they did it's called agents of mayhem

Agents of Mayhem is not a Saints Row game, relax.

I hear the GOG version of SR2 is a better port than the Steam version but I haven't verified if that is true. Which is ironic because I own it on both.

I have a feeling there are some stealth shills for a new Saints Row game around
Way too many SR threads recently

Might be because 3 got re released on Switch

As far as I know they are both the same ports except one of them, can't remember which, has a framerate cap and the other doesn't work as well because it doesn't have a framerate cap. The guys running gog have the source code, they actually did the port themselves, so they could fix it if they felt like it. They obviously don't.

They're pretty terrible shills since 90% of Saints Row threads have ops asking how to fix the series or where it all went to shit.

He'll try to tell you that's just their tactic for keeping people discussing the game because apparently it's easier to believe that everyone on the board is a shill than maybe people want to discuss a video game that they just recently got reminded still exists. On the fucking video game board.

Well obviously they haven't announced another game so they have nothing to advertise. I'm just saying they're getting people talking about Saints Row so they won't be drowned in obscurity like Agents of Mayhem was.

>On the fucking video game board.
but user, this is the eceleb and twitter screencap board

>Well obviously they haven't announced another game so they have nothing to advertise
Deep Silver said they have exciting news about Saints Row dropping soon or something like that a couple of weeks ago. What can it be but the announcement of another Saints Row game?

I was having major lag on GOGs port, that I eventually gave up playing the game.
The lag was so bad on driving, it practically made the game unbearable since you're pretty much driving at least 70% of the time.
Eventually, I pirated a version of SR2 that is not GOG and it seems to have worked for me.
The port is still kind of bad, but it made the game playable during driving.

There was a massive staff turnover between 2 and 3, and a few key people, like the lead game designer, left after 4. It'll be basically impossible to have a game as good as 2 or even 3 again, like Agents of Mayhem proved.

Where did they go? When this kind of thing happens you just follow them to their new project.

Man, 3 is great on PC, but the features are severely lacking when you've had a taste of 2.
In 3, the main missions are fun but everything else feels just empty.
In 2, I'm having fun just going around the city doing activities and diversions.

>There was a massive staff turnover between 2 and 3, and a few key people, like the lead game designer, left after 4
Considering one lead designer for Saints Row 2 went to Ubisoft and made the last two Assassin's Creed games and the other went to Bungie and made the Destiny games I wonder how awesome they actually are.

>Complete reboot, it was one of the endings in Gat out of Hell
That's Agents of Mayhem

Well the last two Assassin's Creed games were considered some of the best Assassin's Creed games in a long time so maybe that one is actually pretty good.

2 is the most overrated shit

This. 3 is the best followed by 4. 1 and 2 are shitty GTA knock-offs.

>saints row gets rebooted as a cop game ala true crime
a shame. that ending had genuine potential for the future of SR, but AoM sure fucked that up

1 is a shitty GTA knock off. 2 is a really good GTA knock off.

Before AOM, I imagined it would be a time travel game. Or maybe something with sword & sorcerery.

>shitty gta knock off
oh piss off. SR was one of the first solid open world sandbox games of its generation

>SR was one of the first solid open world sandbox games of its generation
It was basically the ONLY open world sandbox game of its gen when it came out. It came out something like 9 months after the 360 was released. Even Volition acknowledges it was jank as fuck.
