You can have video games without shooting or killing stuff but it requires creativity and excellent use of interaction in the world.

E3's main benefit nowadays is that it lets you get your hands on games. But the actual conferences and shit are just a waste of time and money for everyone. Sony especially, they've really hacked it up the last couple years, but even ubisoft, EA, and MS have phoned it in. EA moved out of the E3 space entirely and now host their own event, though they still have demo booths set up I guess. Ubisoft is just whatever the fuck they want to do that year, and MS has been so caught up in moneyhatting marketing rights for E3 multiplats that they forgot to talk about their own games. At least sony is recognizing E3 is a disaster and pulled out, a bit like nintendo.
