NINTENDO

>Anal bead level design
>3d
Naw boy.
Nothing is fixed here.

Soulless as fuck
06 is supposed to be shit for fucks sake

SEGA

>supposed to be shit

not sure if your memeing but I loved how shitty it was when it came out, desu It was my most hyped game of all time during my autistic sonic years and nothing could stop me from loving it

With as fast as Sonic is, would an open world even work for Sonic?

>seemless transitions into the other parts of the level

SEGA should just remaster the whole game like this it 06 could easily be fixed into something decent with little work

Of course not, retard, but automation at every second isnt gameplay

youtu.be/yudNWnnAOPU?t=7 You posted the wrong video, OP.
An actual 3 Dimensional game actually lets you play it.

Insane boost Sonic? No. Sonic without boost? Absolutley. Just look at the Adventure games, Sonic World and Utopia.

>the amount of cinematic segments with no freedom of control
modern sonic everyone

Leave 3d to Mario. Sonic just can't compete. In fact, leave 2d to Mario as well.

I'm glad people are still modding generations.
Though a little sad the rest of the Melpontorations levels were abandoned.

>:43
>dead stops

Yep it's gay.

Generations movement is so fucking janky. I can almost feel how difficult is to control Sonic precisely just from watching.

>click randomly ahead from the start a bit
>1:00 to 1:20 is a completely on-rails midair bumper / loop festival with absolutely no reason to stop holding forward
HARD pass

NINTENDO

Nah, go for the real thing

Does Sonic actually control decently in this? Always hated how sharp his turns were in the original.

He feels a lot better than regular 06. Turning is still a bit sharp but the added momentum does actually make things a bit more harder to control. Aside from that, spindashing, homing attacks and jumps actually working properly is great though.

IF U JUMP JUST AS U LAND ON A WALL

I truly don't understand how people would prefer the boost mechanic over how the adventure games handled speed

>Soulless

The fuck does that even mean? I swear you all use this buzzword to sound deep or something.

YIKES
adventurecucks think this is good

>not Sonic Robo Blast 2

2d Sonic is shit
3d Sonic trying to be 2d Sonic is SUPER shit

HIRE THIS MAN

>06 is supposed to be shit for fucks sake
06 is a lot of good ideas in a fundamentally broken package where it's very obvious that the final game is a pre-release version salvaged to work around technical issues.

it mean you can tell if it's a labor of love or not. I guess.

My theory is that the SEGA devs are blaming the catastrophic failure of 06 on its adventures-like gameplay design.
06 really is SA3 in basically everything except execution (they could've added a chao garden to the hub world and the resemblance would've been perfect).

Which I'm guessing means boost mode is forever, adventures-style homing attacks and all-directional movement is no more.
It sucks that SEGA doesn't just listen to fan criticism; literally all they need to do is make a non-buggy sonic adventure 3 with good movement and a chao garden and it'd probably be a return to greatness.

I don't buy that theory because Unleashed was originally planned to be Sonic Adventure 3, which sucks since the Generations team could have legitimately pulled it off. A (good) Sonic Adventure 3 would probably make one of Sonic's best selling 3D titles, but I don't know if current day Sonic Team could do it.

Unleashed team*

Unleashed was never Adventure 3, just because it had adventure in the Japanese title doesn't mean anything since rush adventure came out just before. I really don't understand where people get these ideas on which games are part of the adventure series when there's only been two and officially they're labeled under the Dreamcast era which Heroes is a part of.

It could. But you'd have to make a very large world (like Utopia for example) to accommodate Sonic's speed and have level design so you're not running through something bland like say Soleanna's various hub worlds.

I didnt say Unleashed is Sonic Adventure 3 (nor do I think that it is), I said it was originally planned to be a sequel to Sonic Adventure 2, before they came up with the concepts that led to Unleashed.
>"As a development team, we originally started off this project planning to create Sonic Adventure 3", Hashimoto revealed to the magazine.
web.archive.org/web/20080412234659/http://www.computerandvideogames.com/article.php?id=186523

looking at this stuff now, it makes me really sad that this game came out as a piece of shit.

I'm just glad its finally getting the justice it deserves and it'll be something even better than what Sonic Team originally envisioned.

>boostshit

no thanks, have an remake/fixed version of 06 that actually keeps the adventure style movemnent/physics

youtube.com/watch?v=VUJS39ADmxo

>Added mometum

Fucking why? The instant responsiveness of the adventure era titles is one of their best elements.

>Literally on rails press-foward-to-win
Yeah, no.

>He's incapable of identify something as soulless
Imagine being a dumb teenager with no taste.

>i like the unruly controls
>I hate the unruly Controls
The sonic fandom Ladies and Gents. None can even agree on how sonic should turn.

Are you an expert on anal beads, user?

Turning on a dime is literally the opposite of how momentum-based movement should be

Having a character turn when you push the input to turn isn't "untruly", it's called being responsive.

Correct, but the adventure games don't have mometum based movement, and I like that. I would take a game where your character responds to your movements and actions rather then being contrained by a physics engine any day.

It is when you go 100 miles an hour and when turning keeps your momentum (just like in sa1/2)

>MOMENTUM BAD
>WEIGHTLESSNESS GOOD

In the context of how the SA games function, yes. They could maybe use some slight tuning so perhapos the acceleration isn't 100% instant, but really only barely

>nd when turning keeps your momentum
Good, having turning arcs fucking sucks, it's why SM64's movement is shit.

But... there are physics.

Imagine that but fucking 20 times faster.

the fuck is this game?

One of many proof of concept fangames.
youtu.be/w1CEN5gVs5Q

fuck this looks cool

Boostshit works fine. It does this because at high speeds Sonic doesn't control like a platformer, but like an F-Zero car. The only real downside to boostshit is it requires good level design (something all Sonics require, but due to boostshit actually being fast, Sonic covers more ground, and there's more level is required).

Play the demo, sempai, it's great.

You guys ever played that Zelda DLC level in Lost World? That's how I'd like a 3D Sonic game.

Very odd

>Conservation of momentum and a turning radius
Absolute garbage, Sonic should control like you're pushing around a cotton ball just like nuh perfect Adventure games

Not sure if serious or dicking around honestly.
