I then replayed day 2 twice because I mismanaged my time and could buy beef one time, and canned food another.

I'm on day 4 my first game. Hunger meter is busted, it should easily be half the speed with these prices. Hunting for food literally ruins the immersion because you play like pac-man.

day 4 is when food seems like it is not big problem with Lara giving a you a lot on that day and you getting a daily food/money bonus for healing people.

This. Hunger in general seems really poorly implemented. I think its really just going to put new people off at the start of the game and like you said after Day 4 you get a shitton of food everyday for doing hospital shifts so it ends up not mattering.

What happens to your various meters when you die? Are health, thirst, hunger, exhaustion and immunity all reset? Does dying cure the plague?

Are the rolls for character deaths/infections done at the start of the day? I gave sticky the best antibiotic I had but he still died because the needle landed right at the very bottom. No matter what I do by reloading saves and doing different thing all the needles all land in the same places no matter what. I basically have to use a shmowder on him to keep him from dying.

But ALL the characters have their needles stop in the exact same positions no matter what I do. Either these rolls at midnight aren't random and they're all predetermined or they're rolled at the very start of the day.

Is it even a good idea to sell herbs? Seems very limited and tinctures are very important.

I go out to the steppe to gather swevery and as a result I get tons of the other herbs. Medrel+ and the occasional immunity booster is enough to keep me healthy, and I brew enough of the others for diagnostics.

If the plague is spreading by air and the main method to get infected is by breathing, I suppose that gas masks would be quite effective provided that they can filter those huge black particles in the air

I never noticed that dead characters show up in the gameover theater. They only have 1 or 2 lines but I kind of want to get everyone killed to see what they say.

I think this game would have benefited a lot if they made a distinction between the main quest and other quests like in the first game. As is you could completely fuck yourself out of important stuff because you wanted to go do other things which turned out to be complete wastes of time.

Most Main quests are im the middle and are bigger than the rest on the journal.

It's relatively easy to stunlock enemies in this game 1v1 (I've done it plenty of times with a 0 durability knife) and if there's any thugs nearby in the house you'll hear them pretty easily. I don't think they open doors unless they spot you first so if you're careful you can loot a bunch of rooms before encountering any and I occasionally see guards in the house to that get into fights with the bandits so if you hear a constant loop of sound clips that's probably what's happening.

Anyone know what triggers this one? Or does it come automatically when the quest comes?

Yes. If the hunger bar hits full it'll start draining your HP which could kill you in your sleep if you sleep for too long since there's no way to 'wake up' once you've selected the amount of time you want to pass.

yeah the combat isn't janky its just that the 'lol i spin u around when you look away' mechanic is kind of unfair since it pretty much happens automatically if you try to run away from any hostile within a certain distance.

just go for back thumps, it usually stunlocks them. if not, remember blocking completely negates punch damage. by the time you reach the double worms, you should have the knife you get from the herb hoochies

Except these guys has an unblockable attack that does a ton of damage if it hits you while blocking and leaves you dazed so they can get more hits in afterwards and kill you.

So any gameplay ways to make big bucks discovered yet? Im only at day 3 and im starting to starve, there is barely enough time to visit all marks, check some trash bins on the way and mostly are empty, and then sleep a couple hours. I heard something about farming herbs but it seems to be only 50-100 a piece and I dont have real life hours to farm any decent sum. Barely getting by and I dont think it will get easier, passed the curing tutorial, you need a truck of opiates, a couple tinctures at best, and specific antibiotics, i dont have all that shit and probably nevet will. Tried visiting infected houses, most containers are locked and I dont have immunity to visit more than a couple of them. How the fuck do you make the ends meet? Its hard just to keep your hunger at bay let alone waste huge chunk of resources on curing people and all the other shit. There are not enough barter items out there so past couple days barter doesnt save your day anymore. Send train.

I did resolve the story shit, still you can't enter them after, and any loot in them is lost.

They're in the game, and better than in the original, but they were gonna be fleshed out a lot more if they reached that stretch goal. More side quests and that kind of stuff.

This should be your day 1 or you're not doing it right. Your nights after should be spent on the steppe getting herbs, and from day 4 on ward you prioritize maxing your fun. Between those two things and hoarding food, you should be set.

Heal people. You actually get paid very well for it.
You can make decent money by selling herbs, but only if you get lucky and they're paying for any of the common herbs.

They were in the original too, termitory for sure, but pretty basic. They are locked from the beginning of the game though, I havent yet played much but in the original iirc you visit it briefly for some quest later on. I guess the goal meant making them into a full fledged unique districts with people and activities, not just some quick small quest location (or maybe nothing at all).

I had a bit less food but whats the point if it will only last you a couple days at best? You have no money left and as far as i see there is no decent way to make money yet, how are you gonna afford all the heal items for yourself to raid infected districts and plot characters, some clothes and maybe weapons for occasional fights? This food will run out quick, it only gets more expensive and rare as time passes by. This inventory isnt a long term solution. Also there isnt much time to wander in the steppes since there is so much things to do even if you remove hunger, and you still need at least 4-5 hours of sleep.

On Day 6 or 7 the hospital quest is is to bring in 4 survivors from outside the theatre but there are only 3. I even went to a plague district and it wont let me take survivors from there. Is this just some BS quest meant to be incompletable and waste my time running around the theatre?

You only really fucked up their quests if they died or got infected. Even then, I wonder if some characters are just fated to die.
Anyhow, it's intentional. Haruspex is just a third of the story, Bachelor and Clara will have different interactions with every single character.

user I'm on day 9 now and none of what you said applied to me. You can continue to hoard food all through the first 5 days, the inflation doesn't start getting drastic until around say 6 onward and then on day 8 you can't buy food anymore anyway. Once you get your base unlocked after day 2 EVERY SINGLE NIGHT should be spent in the steppe, period, gathering herbs. If you do this, you will achieve three things:
>you can sell excess herbs at the bar and get some food from him too, use that money to buy even more food
>more importantly, use the medicine you make to diagnose and treat patients to max out your fun, which gives you a VERY big reward for even more food. You will need to trade for antibiotics to do this at first though, but you can make your own later
>A whole bunch of tincture+ which you will use not just to keep your bound safe, but you go through infected districts to loot/trade/harvest infected blood/treat people
This game is all about momentum. If you don't build up the proper momentum in the first half of the week, you'll fail before ever making it to the later half. And even then, no matter how well you do int he first half of the week, things will go VERY BATSHIT from day 9 onwards.

Plague houses have great loot which I only loot when rescuing a baby.

Just make sure you avoid infected drawers and you should be able to loot entire houses as long as you watch out for infected people

For my next playthrough Im considering looting normal houses in districts that will get infected soon since reputation doesnt really matter for infected ones. Neither it does for the normal ones desu, all you get is access to random houses for a bit of barter at night and access to shops which are all over the place anyway, i think its worth ruining reputation with a district or two if you have spare lockpicks and nothing better to do. Thats the hardest part, there is so little time that deliberately going for looting raids is kind of a rare activity.

You can get one on Day 2 in the playground near the Theatre by playing hide and seek.

You can get another on Day 4 by trading the leash for a powder in Nutshell.

They can be found in children's stashes sometimes, at the Dead Item store and lets say between 1/10 - 1/15 when trading with little girls each day.

I did, it was worth it on top of healing a few people, 7k, food, coupons and pills. I used the money to go buy a shotgun off the barber thug then kill him immediately after. Shame Bad Grief bugged out so I couldn't finish the quest.

I don't remember which day you go into the Abattoir/Olonngo/cave but you can get like four bottles of panacea blood in there if you kill all the worms and make sure to bottle it all (i.e. don't fuckin drink it).

It's a sort of reboot, some stuff has changed enough that it's worth it to play the old one as they're more or less different stories at this point, only one route is out right now.

Clara can be found near Rubin’s house, after having talked to Grace about the list.
Its a bit shifty though as sometimes there’ll be an actor or nobody at all instead.
But you can just talk to the nearby kids and they will mention that Grace can talk to the dead too.
Dont know what happens though because I refused.

I got the good ending with like half of my aspirants dead.

Murky's method doesn't work. I think it completes the circle, but it tells you that she confused the buzzing of insects around the herbs with the voices of the dead.

Looks like that circle is completely unrelated to speaking to Isidor. I loaded an earlier save, had Grace put him on the line, and it didn't change Murky's dialogue or objectives.

I'm garbage and the abbatoir is kicking my ass. Any advice?

sneak up on them, hold left click to do a power attack, then spam regular attacks until they die.

Another user posted a good strategy. Worms do a sing that hits three times. Block all three hits (block a punch makes you take no damage), then after the third hit swing at them. Then block their next attack and repeat. Enemies only do guard breaks if you stay in block, otherwise they never will.
