oh wow that dude is fucked
shh, dont give them ideas. its the only sci fi left untainted by braindead devs
A game just came out using it where you find hidden aliens.
?
Because it doesn’t sell
No one cares about your old retro bullshit
because it looks dumb and gay?
Game devs don't cater to boomers anymore, go play your atari 2600 old man.
You were saying
Please, no Todd, not again! I beg you!
Prey (2017) used the setting well
The only one I can think of is Deadly tower of Monsters.
same reason a lot of interesting settings like Dieselpunk aren't often used: they require a modicum of originality and pose market risk
It's used in Fallout quite often nowadays, which is a shame, because the first two Fallouts and New Vegas were less about le epic pre-war 50's aesthetic and more about the society created after the war.
Bethesda just flanderized the franchise. Bastards.
Because it would require thought creativity funk and/or soul and those things are no-gos these days.
Thats what I thought, now go buy my masterpiece Fallout 76
Because everyone who is young enough to be a part of the games industry is to young to remember or understand that aesthetic on more than a superficial level. That aesthetic was created by the greatest generation and they are all too old to care about video games or are dead.
