I can't control myself from saying nigger.
This. Was actually typing this, but this faggot was faster.
>leave any other job for 48 hours
>get fired
>good luck finding another job because your reputation is ruined
But oh noes not the 40K SUBSCRIBERS
I have no charisma and I'm bad at video games.
the struggle are real
>leave any other job for 48 hours
Do you know what a weekend is?
even if it's a job that requires charisma, which is the one complaint i here from streamers
almost every other job requires it, and you get paid to play games all day
yes i'm mad
Do black people get banned for saying nigga and nigger and do gays get banned for saying faggot?
>leave any other job for 48 hours
>get fired
Is this what America is like?
He wrote the tweet like a twat, but he does raise a point about the need to be streaming consistently to maintain an audience. Personally could never be a dedicated streamer I'd prefer to just keep games as free time and not as my job, or if anyone ever cares about what I may do I'd stream myself playing whatever I want for extra cash like Danny Brown with Persona 5
I get 5 weeks vacation, nigga.
Because I haven't tried.
I dunno if I'm charismatic or not and I'd have to stream to find out and that's effort.
Also, I'd play old ass games instead of relevant shit.
Do Americans not have vacation days or sick days?
Knowing my stupid self, I'd accidentally release private info, and I don't talk much when playing.
Do you think people just work every single day with no breaks?
I hate the sound of my voice and don't wish to inflict it upon others
Streamers always say this but I don't understand why. When you subscribe to someone, isn't it for a set period of time? Why would they all suddenly expire?
I want to know how how many fuckers you need on the regular to actually make it a job
I thought a middle class income was doable on 1000 regular viewers but i see motherfuckers pulling not even 200 doing this as a full time thing, how the fuck do you even make money with less than 200 regular viewers
>Leave a notice with work saying I'll be gone for a week
>Leave for a week
>Come back
>Still have a job
WOAH
Sounds like the average streamer to me.
>leave a job for 10 days because hated it so much
>"sorry, my sister died"
>get no paycut
>don't even have a sister
twitch has a policy that lets blacks say nigger I believe
>leave any other job for 48 hours
>get fired
oof
wow such a hard worker!
sorry user
the faggots a multi millionaire what's he bitching about
Twitch streamers don't get paid based on viewers, they get paid based on subscribers - $2.50 a month per person.
I'm too busy installing microwave ovens.
It was later revealed that most of those 40k subs were people that didn't renew their free twitch prime sub. He got 35k+ subs a few days later.
The problem is I'm a massive asshole who tks and trolls my teammates. I fuck around too much and rarely have a kd higher than 1.0.
To be a good streamer you have to have skill. I just don't take games Seriously and play my favorite characters/weapons.
NEETs really think work is like this huh
As I've grown into my 20s I've realized I can no longer understand the average consumer mindset nor can I feel any sort of enjoyment from the same meme spamming Everytime some interesting happens on screen
I'd be interested in twitch went it went back to the olden days of shitting on retards and calling people nigger faggot rather than today's version of
>DUMB NIGGER REACTS TO X
I think people have become retarded
LTG got suspended multiple times for this
No one is forcing him, he has enough to retire so at this point you either do it because you love it or do it because you know nothing else. Twitch is a get in/get out job, time to get out.
You can't get big unless you leech off bigger streamers, you will be permanently at the bottom.
It's a highschool for autists.
LGT isn’t black, user
That's because your audience are children buddy they're fickle hyperactive little creatures that will move on to the next guy
3 weeks here. On last 3 years I have used a grand 3 days. I'm fucking anxious someone will messed up in the office when I'm absent.
I wanna die
Out of curiosity, I went and looked at his numbers.
>January 2018 28,664
>February 2018 69,680
>March 2018 285,054
>April 2018 197,533
>May 2018 251,721
>June 2018 123,601
>July 2018 95,935
>August 2018 106,936
>September 2018 82,354
>October 2018 62,950
>November 2018 54,063
>December 2018 41,447
>January 2019 33,759
And he's been under 30k since February. In fairness, that's a pretty insane level of subscriber churn he went through in the course of a year. But 22,000 subs is still like 50 grand a month.
I leam towards this as well. He has been so successful that he could stop right now and be set for life. Even if he dialed it back so that he could have more of a life he would still make a ludicrous amount of money.
>lose 40k subs
>still get donations from the other 60k or whatever the fuck amount of subs he has left
Such a struggle.
Mainly its because I cant get any viewers. I have come to terms that people people dont like me well enough to give me a chance.
>twitch apparently takes less than half the sub fee from the big boys
oh no 150k that's like 20 bucks to him, STREAMERS RISE UP WE'RE MIDDLE CLASS JUST LIKE YOU THIS IS A REAL JOB AND I DEMAND RESPECT
LTG is not black you Diddy Kong looking burnt ape
it's funny he actually made a scene about that a little ways back how it's not fair that people only root for someone to take out the leader and cheer competition
>To be a good streamer you have to have skill.
I've heard streamers talk about this and apparently it's a real fucking existential crisis for them, where whenever you're playing, you're like "I should be streaming this." I can't imagine never having any gaming time just to myself. Sounds horrible.
>caring about your job on the vacation
???
>But 22,000 subs is still like 50 grand a month.
I legitimately don't even know what the fuck I'd do with that kind of money
I tried before, couldn't gather more than 50 viewers
Thats japan
>t.niggers
I know that, but extrapolating on what some popular streamer explained on youtube, regular viewer count may allow a ballpark estimate of 2x the amount of monthly subscribers
So a dude with 200 viewers can maybe have 100 current subs or 250 bucks a month
then you throw in miscellaneous tips and endorsements maybe you shore up a little bit more
I'm not a white "fuckin'" male
>Twitch streamers don't get paid based on viewers, they get paid based on subscribers - $2.50 a month per person.
They can be payed based on viewship with sponsors and running ads. Most partnered streamers that actually have an audience make $3.75 per sub even heard of four dollar contracts.
Subscriptions cost 5 bucks and I think the streamer gets half of that, so. How much times 2.50 do you need to make a living?
I am. I just started streaming most evenings for a couple hours for fun. It's a hobby that motivates me to actually try to beat games as a series.
I'm happy to get the odd person watching my stream or if I get a comment. I've had both already which is good considering I haven't advertised my channel or anything.
Most amount of views so far is 17 for a stream, and 25 for a clip. (Though I feel like I cheated because said clip I did post on Yea Forums. But it was relevant to the advice I was giving at the time)
Can't say I'm massively entertaining or anything. I'm just a regular guy with a mic on his bed, recording himself playing games like a twat.
>don't even have a sister
Well, obviously now.
Just cause he doesn't tolerate coonery doesn't mean you get to talk shit about his blackness. He's been blessed with the BBC. Matter of fact, just for that.
GET THAT ASS BANNED, motherfuckers!
had I known I could have had a money harem of zoomers I would definitely have started a channel years ago. Too late to get big now I think
your typing is pretty whiny too mate
>To be a good streamer you have to have skill.
The battle royal genre killed this and even with enough personality streamers bad at games grow.
>payed
There would be at least one day were I withdraw it in cash and just roll around in on the bed, then deposit again the next day.
I know Yea Forums isn't going to side with this opinion, but he is sort of right in a way. The streamers who are successful put in tons of hours to be consistent. Some of them literally don't take any days off over multiple years so they can build up a huge fan base and as soon as they stop for even a short period they start seeing big losses. Also, streaming is pretty mentally taxing. It doesn't feel the same as just playing vidya with your bros. I used to have a stream on twitch back in 2013 and would get up to about 100 viewers only. I never planned to make it a job, it was just a fun hobby. But streaming passed a couple hours, even when you're just doing it for fun starts to get pretty exhausting in a weird mental way and it sort of took the fun out of it. If I was some dude with a McJob I understand how hearing a video game streamer complain about things is retarded, but it isn't as black and white as you would think. I would honestly hate being a streamer for a living compared to the comfy office job I have now.
I am pretty sure the base split for subs is lower than 50/50 when you start out
And you can also negotiate higher than 50/50 (in your favour) if you've got a large subscriber base
Oh no, he won't be able to buy another yacht!
What a bitch.
There's some convincing subtle gunk in that picture, I was scratching my monitor like a jackass trying to get it off.
You know how high powered lawyers with billable hours get the itch to do work just because, since every hour you're idle means you could be raking in hundreds of dollars an hour? They work even though they're swimming in cash to the point of kiboshing their mental health because its fucking money on the table.
I think it's kind of like that.
The problem is that I am a fucking idiot nigger faggotboi
>they start seeing big losses
When the loss means they only make ten grand a month instead of twenty I legitimately could not give a single fuck
I had the same, but with multiplayer. "Why bother playing if I can't measure myself to others on the fly?"
I still do. It's hard to play single player games unless it's something that makes me want to drop some acid.
no I mean I didn't have a sister
I mean before that
wait no
agh fuck please laugh
You can save your time explaining and just call it greed.
Christ, I can hear his voice, good job.Good Job.
I understand watching a game to see if you want to buy it but sitting and watching someone play something you could be playing is just fucking silly. I feel ashamed for the generation begging mom and dad to feed these boring entertainers money. Think about how many people working hard ass 9-5 jobs just to have their kids grab their money to pay streamers.
That sucks, we literally get in trouble if we don't use our vacation. Based government work.
I don't care. I just don't want to stream and do bad in front of a whole audience. I mean shit I have a nasely voice and play old shit. Nobody wants to watch that.
Plus donations on the side. Though, he is probably getting over half of his income taxed at that rate.
fucking kek well played
Some streamers just spam the shit out of ad breaks if they only pull 200viewers. The good streamers that pull 2k+ usually have enough subscribers to keep ads at a minimum.
That's only the subs. He gets donation after donation every few seconds and the minimum amount you can donate to him is $10
It's sort of true, but at the same time
>Oh no 40 thousand people who were giving me 2.50 a month for no reason at all stopped for some reason
Wanna laugh? Twitch is testing sub only streams.
read: cam shows.
285k subs to 33k is hemorrhaging.
If he invested his profit he will be ok. If not he's gonna need a job.
>Suddenly everyone on Yea Forums wants to be a famous Twitch streamer
YES IT'S AN EASY JOB, YES IT'S EASY MONEY, NO IT WON'T HAPPEN TO YOU. Y'all either need to get a Youtube career or something equivalent because otherwise nobody gives a fuck about your autist ass playing video games. Even top streamers aren't entertaining, they're just scamming kids by giving them some brief validation due to them already being big in the first place. Either really grind your way to the top .1% of a game's competitive scene or just be happy streaming casually to your friends.
Yes, when it's the absolute top of the top tier streamers who gives a shit. But pretend there's a guy who makes 50k a year streaming and if he stops for a few days he could lose 15% of his income. It's a thing in the back of your mind all the time that puts a lot of pressure on you to constantly put in hours. Whereas if he was just some average joe that had to show up to the office making 50k a year with paid vacation you no longer have that pressure. I'm just saying there's more to it than "XD playing video games for money!"
>all those subs were prime or gifted subs.
What an idiot.
You're right. I didn't notice that until now. Probably because the rest of my monitor is just as dirty.
>where whenever you're playing, you're like "I should be streaming this."
>tfw i'm not even a fucking streamer yet i still sometimes think this
You got a soirce on that pic? Tried most of the RIS engines, but i can't find it.
This actually describes me pretty well and I stream.
I got some views on my Sonic Adventure DX stream actually. Hell even Aladdin for Genesis got like 9 views.
Small views, but someone out there is willing to watch a little bit 'o retro user.
Honestly I feel similarly towards most of the entertainment industry including professional sports. And since That's just part of life at this point I don't have a huge problem lumping streamers in with although they're relatively new.
you can donate less, but it won't show up on the stream
>But pretend there's a guy who makes 50k a year streaming and if he stops for a few days he could lose 15% of his income
Then perhaps this hypothetical dude should stream on the side and get a job as his main source of income
Natch. I was just counting only his subs. I'm sure he's rolling in money from donations, bits, ads, sponsorships, everything, he's fucking Ninja.
Point is, I can see how if you went from 251k subs to literally half that in a month and then under 100k the next month, you'd start seeing ghosts. You and I can't even fathom that much money but for him it must've just felt like thousands and thousands of dollars worth of potential income flying away.
I'm sure he has sponsorships and shit, he's probably fine.
because the "pioneer" streamers are established. fresh blood now has to bust ass maintaining 5 average viewers. and they will see a slow growth...in a matter of years?
sure the person matters. but only a fraction of people on Earth actually have the personality to cut it.
they're the most vain, two-faced people ever. you would be too if you had a chat feed your ego tripping, every day
id probably kill myself before i bother whoring myself out like that, noty
>no reason at all
It's just entertainment they want to support for the continued growth of it. It isn't that complicated. Instead of giving HBO 15 bucks a month to watch whatever garbage shows they find streamers more entertaining and give money to support them instead. You guys keep trying to make it sound more arbitrary than it is.
>play video games for a living
>live off kids bux earned by their parents
>complain
are popular twitch streamers the pinnacle of entitled cunts?
Possession on the BBC gene does not make one black like the rest of you coons.
But that's exactly what SingSing does and he has a stable following.
Pretty much.
Popular streamers either need personality or skill
Both would be ideal, but not necessary
Twitch is all about nepotism. Unless you have connections with big streamers you will never get to the top of the directory.
You could stream for years and never get above 100 viewers without help.
Have sex!
Invest 95% of it duh.
Yeah those streamers talk I barely have anything worthwhile to say since I only have videogames in my life.
>chill streamer taking questions
>pay streamer 1000 bits for the fuck of it
>ignores your question
feels bad
unfortunately that's what happens if you actually care about the job, you start thinking everything will fall apart if you're gone
Obviously. But it's still a staggering amount of money. Once it's invested, it just gets bigger too.
Once I've got a house and a steady income, what the fuck need do I have of even more money?
>implying people don't want to see that kind of content
I miss the old Halo 3 betrayal montages of the late 00s
Sorry I took a philosophy class recently.
luxuries/travel I guess
I dunno user. I think it's possible to get over 100 views on at least 1 stream. And to do it, you need clips and highlights.
I've experimented by making some clips and highlights of my own streams and some clips have lead to more views on my overall stream.
If you get lucky and have a few bits of comedy gold per stream it could cause a little bit of a snowball effect.
having traveled a lot, it's honestly a meme maybe if you stick to a luxury beach it would be nice, but most of the time it's shit and never go to the jungle unless you like botflies and swampass
Get outta here, I work as hard and efficient as I can to get bonuses and be of value. I take 7 week vacation once a year without a care in a world about this shithole. They can burn my work place while I'm not there for all I care.
Vacation - free time to relax.
oh no i have to play more video games to get my subs back
woe is me
truly the biggest struggle on earth
Like everything else you build a tolerance
Maybe you get a nice house but then you start looking sideways at even fancier houses. Maybe not xbox-hueg houses but maybe slightly nicer in a nicer neighborhood.
Your tastes in cars, clothing, consumables gradually creep higher and higher as you can afford them
Whatever hobby you already have will probably be the first victim as you rice out your car if you're a motorhead or stuff two RTX2080ti's into your computer if you play on pc a lot
>pay 100p bits
As someone who doesn't use twitch. Are bits just their converted fun bux? Like$1=10bits?
Because I play with Yea Forumsros alot which usually ends up with one of them screaming nigger and other shit like gay erp that offends people will get the stream taken down pretty fast even though it would be fun.
I just can't risk it these days especially when everything can be traced back to you in the future.
>What's this you ran a stream and we're with some guys who said the N word? You reputation is going to be ruined!
I have twenty days of paid vacation every year. Every year I take it as a big block, and the work falls to my boss to do. Every year I come back and things are far worse than I left it because my boss has no idea how the day-to-day of the company is run. I feel your pain.
>or stuff two RTX2080ti's into your computer if you play on pc a lot
Yeah, and that's a fucking fraction of 50k. And I wouldn't need to be doing that every month.
but everything does fall apart and i cant even relax because i know i will spend my first week back fixing all the basic shit people cannot do
most streamers get big off other streamers/leeching off bigger streamers. i'm just noting most current streamers are leeches to some degree.
Because i only have got 2000 followers but 25 average viewers in 3 years.
Which is more than i expected since i do literally nothing in Maplestory all night.
I had a dude at work effectively disappear for 5 days straight to the point that I had motherfuckers ask me if I could contact him. needless to say his ass got fired that day.
yeah pretty much they just take a bigger cut the less you donate, plus it's nice if you want to be user and donate without using paypal
"{A few people have been doing the maths in various streams and have worked out how much twitch takes from cheers. Apparently, twitch takes 29% from the 100 bits, 26% or so for 500, 24% for 1500, 22% for 5000, 21% for 10000, 19% for 25000, very rough numbers but that's about it
So at $308 donated the streamer gets $250
Compare this to Paypal is 2.9% + $0.30 from paypal}"
I never take these threads seriously before, but the delusions are starting to annoy me since Yea Forums has threads constantly now full of sad cunts lamenting why they aren't famous for sitting on their ass and doing what 70% of other sad cunts do in their free time. Even if you did have the skill, personality, and time to be one of the best streamers it doesn't mean people will notice or appreciate you. Most of you would be fucking miserable acting like a children's show host for zoomers everyday and don't have the skill for super high traffic streams anyway. Not to mention some of you might just not be dumb enough to be famous, sometimes people become famous because they're such a train wreck of a person that they're hard not to watch. It's not embarrassing to not have a massive Twitch following, so much more goes into that then just you being a likable person and skilled "gamer". If you're having anxieties about your Twitch account, you're not going to make it. Subtle things come across very easily, and nobody wants to watch a stream just to feed your ego. Stream if you like it, don't do it at all if you don't. Trying to be a top streamer is a waste of time, it's only going to happen if it happens naturally and because you spent a lot of time at it because it's fun for you.
>you stop streaming for 2 days
>people who have subs running out let them run out instead of renewing immediately
>they do this because the streamer is away and they can't get their headpats until the streamer returns
For someone who is the most successful twitch streamer you'd think he'd know this.
frankly I think they have it coming. We have gotten to a point that if you have to exhaust yourself because of the must need entertainment running 24/7 mentality.
Found it. Atelier ayesha art by hidari.
i feel you homes. every time i be taking a shit i think damn i should be streaming this
Legitimate answer: I don't want to turn my relaxation, fun and chill out time into my job where I'm worrying that I'm playing a poor game to stream for fun meaning I make less money. I much rather keep fun and work separate.
Test
>the struggle
>be me
>19
>get a job as a forest technician between school
>the job requires me to navigate woodlots marking on maps where fish bearing streams are and where the roads and bridges will go, marking trees
>day of job interview
>tells me to meet him at his office
>go to the address
>his office is his fucking house
>knock on the door
>standing there for 5 minutes knocking every now and then
>he comes to the door all pissed
>asks why I'm late
>I tell him I've been knocking for a while
>he fucking gets me to walk AROUND HIS HOUSE to the back yard, through his patio and then the back of his house to his home office
>during the interview he points out pedantic errors in my resume and asks why I put my previous job as a camp counsellor and 4H experience on the resume as it had nothing to do with the job
>he gives me the job
>I work with 2 other people a bit older than me but they have a few years experience
>the crew meets at the boss's house so we aren't allowed to park our vehicles there
>I'm expected to walk and not drive my car
>the people who train me and get along with me well
>the job is pretty fucking hard work, but I grew up on a farm and was always fit so it wasn't something I couldn't handle
>clambering over fields of dead trees covered in snow in the pouring rain, hilly terrain, swamps, soaked head to toe while carrying 50lbs of shit
>always walking as fast as possible
>the people who train me have to do a performance write up
>no complaints
>they tell me that the boss isn't happy
>next day work, I'm working with the fucking boss
Cont.
Damn, so what'd you do with the bodies afterward?
It's really hard to "get out there". You could try your hardest but only amount to atleast 20 people.
a guy at my job suddenly left for a whole month then suddenly came back like nothing happened. he wasn't fired, it was just weird
How fucking underage are you
bout to. gotta buy some equipment
>The struggles of streaming over other jobs
>Struggle
Holy fuck shit. Forget about the gamers, streamers are peak entitlement.
What a whiny piece of shit. I'll be glad when his time is up and the fickle kids of fortnite move on to the next big thing.
I know there's a market for fat, dickbag slobs with brain damage that I could capitalize on, but I'm just not a social butterfly.
>paying streamers
no reason when watching them is free
If I was a girl with big tits I could exploit Twitch so easily. Alas, I am a man.
Why would I ever want to become a children's entertainer when I actually enjoy my job?
>don't show up to work
>get fired
WTF BROS???????????
How about you work 8 hours a day for $1000 a month and then come back to me and we'll talk about "struggle", you rich, entitled fuck who just plays video games.
wtf i hate capitalism now??
Think again, faggot
youtu.be
Everyone please feel sorry for the world famous millionaire videogame player.
So are you continuing?
>act like a cuck
>treated like one
heh
people with fat wallets willing to donate to your patreon/paypal.
technically all you need is 1 or 2 rich sugardaddies with loose wallets.
What do you do?
>lose 40k subs
>in 48 hours
>when a sub lasts 720 hours
Thinking emoji
That's true. We know at least one or two that got some momentum from Yea Forums too though they wouldn't admit it now.
I couldn't stand the idea of plugging my own stream so blatantly, not unless it was like the Dragonball streamer guy we got who makes it a fun event for us to pick characters and have them fight in a tournament.
I feel like that guy deserves the love. The Unsung Hero of Yea Forums
It's hard being rich from playing videogames all day. You just don't know user, it's a struggle.
>having 40k subscribers in the first place
thats what, $100k a month?
Bad at multitasking. I can't sit there and hold a conversation while I'm playing a game or watching a movie. It's either one or the other.
Oh no, can't comment now, the horror
500k a month
none of you have any idea how hard it is to play a videogame
>And he's been under 30k since February
that's because around Jan/Feb he quit streaming normal games and just plays FFXI on a private server now.
People can only watch someone sit semi-afk in South Gustaberg camping pic related for 12h so long
No, twitch gives bigger shares to streamers with more subs. He is probably making 3.50 or 4.00 a sub.
Be a smelly NEET of course
>gives me shit for wearing my work boots in the truck (which was filthy), says that I have to throw them in the back
>he stops at the ATV store to yell at some guy because his ATV got stuck in the mud (not joking)
>on the drive to the woodlot he gives me shit for "rubbing my hands together weird"
>he gives me shit telling me that my rain pants look like what my dad probably cleans trucks with (my dad owns a trucking company)
>at this point it's summer so the mosquitoes are really fucking bad
>he apparently forgot his bug spray and asks if I have any
>I tell him I don't and that I wear a mosquito hat
>he gets pissed and calls me a child for wearing it
>demands me to remove it
>I'm staring bullets at him at this point
>always been an outspoken guy who has gotten into a lot of fights so this was hard for me
>continue on work
>cloud of mosquitoes around my head
>he's yelling at me for walking too fast
>at this point I've about had it
>he notices I'm not wearing gloves
>demands that I wear these big bulky fucking gloves to tie ribbons onto tree branches
>then he yells at me for tying the ribbons too slow
>I say "hey big boy, do you wanna try?"
>he fires me on the spot
>he says "I would make you walk back to the truck but I think you'd get lost because you're too stupid"
>tell him to get new material, because the other employees told me how often he said that
>he's fuming
And that's how I got the motivation to start my own business at a young age and never work for somebody again. I hate boomers so fucking much.
>>leave any other job for 48 hours
>>get fired
Imagine being so bad at your job that you get fired on your days off.
>that's because around Jan/Feb he quit streaming normal games and just plays FFXI on a private server now.
That's...kind of based, actually.
christ that fucking sucks. i can't imagine the pain he's going through losing all those subs
you're right and your post is 100% why I stopped streaming just as my channel was hitting the turning point of making big #'s of viewers/subscribers and taking donations.
it got to a point where I was playing games I didn't like or I was sick of nearly constantly in my free time and god fucking forbid you take a night off. people chimp the fuck out.
A dude came into my ~15 person stream and said that he donated 50 bucks to Ninja and he didn't even read it.
Also, Ninja has made more money in a year than most people will see in their lifetime. He could quit streaming tomorrow and not worry about it. I would just be coasting if I had a year like that.
>2018
at least post something relevant
actually stop posting these stupid twitter cap threads altogether
Im on the Streamers side on this. How much adhd does one have so they unsubscribe from a person cos they had 2 days off? That's pathetic
Aye. You make a good point user. Nobody should ever expect anything from streaming, and content creation in general.
If you're going to do it, do it for yourself first. For the fun, for the craft and learning of skills. For your own perverted voyeurism.
Nothing wrong with being a little fish, as long as you don't fool yourself into thinking you're a big fish.
Boomers are the worst fucking generation of all time, they literally ruined civilization
I wish I could have an army of autistic 10 year olds with mom's credit card giving me money.
Better question, why would you trust your livelihood to something that goddamn unstable?
if you're bold enough people won't have the balls to call you out
more like people let their subs expire and didn't resub because he wasn't live
>user im so sorry you've lost all 8 of your sisters and brothers up to now :(
People would just get mad that I'm a transgirl with a gay guy voice.
Also if I tried to do or practice a female voice, my father would shoot me in the face in my sleep.
I also can't bring myself to ai algorithm speak transferring out every word like gun with bangbang so i don't get black listed for VIOLENT AND CONSERVATIVE CONTENT
For how many months?
It's a business. It's no different than your income being based on how many things you sell in a month. Sometimes things happen in the market and your revenue might heavily swing.
desu for all that you really could've gotten some better shots in.
Because i like going outside and playing games in a game center/arcade with my niggas. Games are just a pass time when i want to play fighting games or SHMUPs. I'm lucky enough to he decent in both, so i play both good and bad players. The bad players: i help them become better so i can have better games and see them again the next time i do visit. The good players: i ask questions on what i should be doing or what is plus or minus on block.
Eigher way, i'm out there socializing and having fun with people.
What the fuck are you talking about op? 48 hours?
If you are late to a job in America you're fired.
Also what jobs?
If you even get one interview after putting in 1000 resume applications, consider yourself lucky.
>needing money to travel
mate most people who travel do so on basically no budget.
a traveler friend of mine hasnt even paid for food for the last 6 months. she "borrows" it from people in the hostels she stays at and, being a lesbian chick, can convince most dudes to buy her food/dinner. so many desperate dudes out there that think buying a lesbian dinner will somehow get them a 3some.
I wanted to trive my hatchet into his skull while telling him to run backwards through a field of cocks but honestly I knew that I wouldn't be eligible for unemployment benefeits and wouldn't have a workplace violation complaint case.
yeah, or they either
>be the first person to stream some new hit game
>be the first person to stream a new update for a game (like Dwarf Fort)
>regularly stream an obscure title with an autistic fanbase and branch out from there
>have tits
>are incredibly good at the game they play or are near pro level
I'm not convinced there's a market for watching a guy savescum xcom2 and use hella gold orbs in dmcv on DMD as he jokes to his wife about the diary of Anne frank being written in ballpoint pen
Prime example of the top people of any competitive business field in which literal millionaires care about their 1% earnings swings more than most wageslaves.
This is why being at the top is not a desirable outcome for you. It's like a drug and it ruins your life.
Allocate yourself in the more elastic high tier, it's just better overall. You won't be a pathetic being having to put up a fake front functioning on numbers alone, and you'll still have enough money to be rich.
Don't be fooled by society. Millionaires are unironically tragic cases.
That story is really boring and pointless.
You're telling me that 40k subs ran out in 2 days and those people didn't hit a buttonto resub? And isn't automatic resubscribtion a thing on twitch?
Faggots get banned for saying faggot.
Have fun trying to convince a bank to give you 50k in cash.
And this anecdote about a lesbian helps our male user how ?
Also flights to overseas places still cost some money and not everyone is ok with spending their time in a hostel, which means paying more for accommodation. Not to mention just general spending money if that's what you want to do
>upset that the internet doesn't stay static in its manic trends
Fortnite isn't the king of all streaming anymore and the only reason it's still relevant is that Epic has permanently trapped its workers in crunch time to keep zoomers supplied with new skins and mini updates. Their core designers will wear out and this game will sink into the same deep crevasse every other popular game now resides.
Because ARTIFACT IS BACK BABY
>make content that panders to kids
>shocked that they behave like one
Really moves me almonds.
I don't even understand streamer culture anymore. Someone kept sharing this guys videos on FB and he has millions of views and its just him looking at the camera with music playing every time something mundane happens in GTA San Andreas. Like I guess I am out of touch because to me in now way is this shut funny at all.
almost every top streamer is either a camwhore or "acts" like retarded clowns to get chatters to laugh with or at them
Damn, never thought about it this way... I guess streamers really deserve millions of dollars per month for playing video games.
Amazon Prime members have to manually recommit to giving streamers dosh because if you don't then Bezos doesn't have to give them the threebux. Normal Twitch subs are automatically resubbed.
Because I have the personality of a rock and I’m a short fat Mexican with man tittys and I’m a 30+ boomer. People don’t want to watch me
>Oh hey user you need travel money?
>Just become a female lesbian and leach off of dudes
Brilliant.
>twitch has a policy that lets blacks say nigger I believe
Time to make fake accounts boys
I used to work at Walmart. The turnover rates are notorious. Every few months you'll see different ppl working there.
One of my coworkers told me not to call out more than two days during the first 6 months working. If you skip more than 2 days, they'll fire you after the 6 month period.
I've known ppl who were pretty good workers that got fired for trying to take a day off. If you don't have a doctors note, don't bother
Sure thing Joe.
That's BRs. BR people have to live with what San Andreas is every day with car jacking and favela murder so he's just like, wow, how usual for us eh huwhuwhue
Who unsubs from someone because they didn't stream for two days? That legit doesn't make sense to me, is this seriously how streaming "culture" works?
user, Twitch is saturated, almost every niche is checked at this point. Maybe you can try to be a YouTube reviewer, big names are falling so is a chance for new talent to fill the void.
Can you grab your mam tit, lift it close to your face and lick the nipple?
Post perky brown man tittys
But I am user. And I'm close to being able to apply to be whatever the fuck an "affiliate" is too
I've started streaming but mostly just to get footage for videos that I'd like to edit and I don't record the voice track. I don't have a cam so I'm probably never going to get a lot of people watching but I do have a good quality mic. It's good practice talking aloud even if it's to myself, I'm slowly getting rid of speech problems I had like uhmms and hesitations. I already have a full time job with a good pay so I'm doing it just for the hell of it, it's pretty funny discovering the stuff you can do with OBS and Vegas Pro.
I'm preparing a Yakuza Kiwami 2 video, I already have a few (I think) good ideas for edits I could do.
>le reddit japan work meme
Irrational children and NEET bux mean that streamers have to act like a melodrama and be a substitute friend and sometimes love interest? It's all horrifying and don't try to think too hard about it. You'll just go mad.
Thx for the clarification. But surely those 40k can't all be Amazon subs right?
>face cam
Ugh. I'd never want to have to see my own dumb face constantly as a streamer. It's bad enough getting used to your own voice.
Vinny get's my respect in that way at least. He only ever cams up either for a joke, or to show some physical comedy. Or he'll put that weird worm-thing up to try to unsettle people just walking into the stream.
So how much money does PewDiePie make? He uploades videos daily, is closing in on 100m subscribers on youtube, all his videos have millions of views, he sells merchandise, and advertises crap on his videos.
Enough
Some boomers are bad, but not all. I'm from a poverty ass asian country, so the boomers I see are hard working and ask for little. As long as they have a roof, a bed, and some food, they are grateful. I do my best to respect my elders and go out of my way to make their lives a little more conveniently comfortable since i see their children fall into degeneracy.
Fuck the city, fuck the mid west, fuck NY, and fuck any nigga riding a john deer tractor on a main road.
I'm lazy.
Probably not 100% but I wouldn't put it past streamer givers to manually halt their subs just so they could do it while said streamer is active so they get that one second of acknowledgment. Yes. Really.
sasuga user
>being a wagecuck
>who is Jerma985
He is paid enough that he could reach billionaire status from income alone. That is nearly impossible. Most people need to supplement their income with investments, etc, to reach that magic number; he does not. He will, though, if he's smart.
>OBS
Oh man. This software is amazing. I can't actually believe it's free. You can do so much with it.
Yes, that's why people with common sense push for unions.
>tfw having a comfy time doing a Let's Play that averages 0 views
>if I end up being unable to play for a few days, I don't forget what I was doing because I can just watch the old recordings
There's also something meditative about talking and reflecting about the game you're playing as you're playing it
so is this just corporate hubris? i mean there's no way it's more efficient to hire and train new employees to replace your current ones just because they took a day off. more than likely, they're just going to pull the same shit and restart the cycle. i guess it could be like a scare tactic but still, that seems stupid as fuck from a money-making standpoint
My hero.
i thinks thats just from whatever lardass got lazy and didn't finish cleaning up from where his wojak crops went a little over the line
Years ago when youtube just started I played around with video capturing software and captured me playing contra for the NES and even edited funny comments here and there. This was before the AVGN was a thing. 1 week later that video had like 100k views. I shrugged my shoulder not understanding if that was a big deal or not and closed my account because the notifications in my email box annoyed me. So yea I fucked up there
Fuck off kike
It's a good feeling user. I'm going to admit I actually do laugh at my own jokes and fuckups sometimes as well.
imagine having such surface level abstract reasoning and understanding of economics when you literally work for a living
>They can burn my work place while I'm not there for all I care
Come back when you have an actually good job
etika got banned for youtube and had a meltdown because he couldn't say nigger
UK here, I decided to leave my job one day and never go back, didn't respond to any texts, emails or letters, it took about 3 weeks for them to start the process of giving me warnings, written warnings, final warnings and about 5-6 weeks before I was officially let go, and they still paid me for all that time, feels good man.
Good luck actually using them and not being seen as a pussy bitch boy thats needs vacation
I worked in a target distribution center, it was the same except the turnover wasn't as bad because they paid $20/hr to do the job.
I ended up quitting on them after the hassled me about missing 4 days in a 3 month period when recovering from being hospitalized.
no one cares
because i'm a legitimate asperger king, ugly as sin and i'm not that great at games that aren't grand strat
is there a market for quiet autism streams like that?
user, you see how bad Kizuna AI plays video games and people still kiss her ass like no tomorrow
If you say so
Trihex was banned for saying nigga, probably got reported by a white guy, too.
Are they any channels that stream as a collective? I've always thought if you could craft a twitch profile around a group identity like Mega64 or Funhaus it'd mitigate the burnout and make for something unique.
Say Chad streams on Monday and Thursday. DeMarcus on Tuesday Friday. Burt on Wednesdays. Then Saturday Sunday could be group streams. Then one guy isn't streaming 24/7 but you've always got content and your channel is varied in games and personality.
Boo fucking hoo you want to be an entertainer you got to entertain. You fucking slut, go tell someone who gives a shit. I can't believe just how retarded these fucking streamers act with their entitlement. That isn't a struggle or even a downside that is just part of the "job".
Yeah, I do that too. Granted, my jokes are primarily dry and rather dumb aside comments but somehow they work, at least to my own ears
I will also have me beating a puzzle boss by traditional "hit it until it dies" means immortalised which is funny in its own rights
>hurr durr you can switch off your brain and not be an obsessed faggot, your job must suck
Come back when you don't think about your job on a fucking vacation of all places. You do realize that vacations are for your mind to rest, right?
I worked a tech support job where one time I had a 101 degree fever at work, coughing and sneezing like crazy, wanted to leave early so I can go to the doctor and get medicine and the fucks at my job had to have an hour meeting first to discuss if I could go early. Like I have no fucking idea what was discussed in that meeting for an hour. An hour later I just got an indirect email with the word "Go" in the body and I was able to leave. I even worked from home later that day to balance things and they still got mad
Based
lmao stop working at a trash company that treats you like dirt, loser
if your corporate culture doesn't let you use PTO even when you've maxed out, LEAVE.
if your company doesn't allow you to cash out PTO, LEAVE.
Should've seen the Twitch rivals today with 1g and Dog getting destroyed playing the halo/portal shooter.
Because I'm fucking worthless, I'm not an interesting person whatsoever and I'm not even that great at video games so I don't see why anyone would watch me stream anything.
not for chat.
Only if you're a nigger streamer
Because I'm not going to use a service that forces you to respect women and faggots.
Also because they ban loli. No loli = no buy.
>I can't control myself from saying nigger.
That, basically.
Laughing at your own jokes is dead-pan humor, but laughing is contagious. It depends on how well you laugh about it, too. Some people have strange laughs.
>>good luck finding another job because your reputation is ruined
like any other company would give a fuck.
>tfw teacher
>tfw I remember praying last summer that Fortnite would die and I'd never see another fucking floss or dance or hear about it
>as this school year closes I find myself repeating this prayer
Please go away Ninja and Fortnite and something, anything be here when Fall starts.
Not unless you work at some fucking slave labor place like
>Walmart
>Target
>tech support
Anywhere that's not some bottom bitch minimum wage shit is going to give you sick leave and PTO.
Yes there are streamer networks. I don't know how prevalent they are in the US but the biggest channel in frogland is a collective of streamers playing Fortnut. They get paid by the channel itself and they also have their own channel on the side when they're not on.
I usually don't laugh at them while recording or playing but checking through the footage afterwards, it catches me off-guard at times
>your reputation is ruined
whoops, look at that, I forgot to put that company on my resume :)
>user, why do you have this gap in your job history
Oh, my father was in the hospital. He's disabled, he had a heart attack and later pneumonia, I moved in with him and helped him recuperate for a couple of years.
Actually not a lie
On the flipside though it's actually hard to get hired for a decent job though.
I've been stuck in a retail job for 10 years. I even have a 2:1 degree, and have set up a business before for a family member, do part-time care work with someone with a disability, and actually know a computer, and technology in general, and can type quite fast.
And it's gotten to the point I get rejected with "overqualified" being an excuse almost every time. Which I don't believe at all. It's more like they equate my ability with ambition and don't want some complacent git nipping at their heels.
What they don't realise is that I'm a work to live kind of guy who just wants a comfy earning doing a job which doesn't feel pointless and makes me feel so shitty and alone and pressured, and some free time to enjoy life.
Family always comes first to me. Hell I'm going on holiday with my disabled brother even though I can't get the time off work because of fucking Ramadan settling on the same week.
I just told them "Well. You'll have to punish me when I get back then. Because my brother needs me to look after him. It's not like I'm not used for being punished for things out of my control"
Seriously, they just punish you for everything in retail these days. Even if they can't prove you actually did anything. Punish first. Punish always. And they wonder why they can't get any fucking staff. jeez.
>$20/hr
>minimum wage
>sick leave and PTO
I used up all of it being hospitalized, and the moment it was up they threw my ass under the bus.
I don't know the exact reasons or the science behind it, but they usually do this to entry lvl workers. One of my coworkers told me it's a hassle to fire someone that's full time.
Is that game any good.
He just should ask EA if they pay him another million dollar to play Apex for a week.
>And this anecdote about a lesbian helps our male user how ?
Voice changer and snapchat filter to look like a girl.
Or he could just dress up like a cute trap. Instant mega$$$ there.
>Do you think people just work every single day with no breaks?
Gamers do.
If you take a 24 hour break from gaming you're not a real gamer.
And don't give me that "Games aren't work" shit, Games are MORE than work because they actually reward putting in the effort.
Those eyes are mega attractive. What is this?
>rubbing my hands together weird
Oy Vey
Fucking retard
just cuz
I remember when I worked at a college Barnes and Noble and called in sick since I had sick days due to the flu my boss called me and said "no you aren't come in now". There were two times you could not call out which was the first week of classes and when you retards sell your $200 books back to us for $15. So I worked with the flu and got 3 of my coworkers sick and made shit worse. Good times.
I want my TWITCH
probably not. If you call in and say hey it's an emergency you're usually fine.
heres a thought:
maybe if your job is that taxing and just giving you anxiety, it could be time to stop
or just deal with the fact you don't have the peak subscriber amount you might have had in the past but you can actually enjoy life, even creating content can feel more fulfilling
Yeah but HAI DOMO BAATsUARu YUUCHiUUBA is 2D, and it's okay when 2D does it.
kek
>be streamer that makes millions of dollars
>haha, Im just like you normal blue collar workers, being a streamer is super hard work haha
good playing ones do, they look at your references and any bad markes won't land you that god paying job
I already work 10-12 hour days and some weekends as a developer. I would easily choose to do this work load for video games if it meant I could retire after 2 years. These fucks are ridiculous with their bitching. Make as much as you can, invest the money into rental properties and you are set for life.
>when Fall starts.
but user, it's been September for 20 years now
Never underestimate the stupidity of people with money.
I'd hire a prostitute
have her dress as my waifu
fuck her a lot
probably also do more cocaine/meth than I currently do
Donate money to whoever the Facebook / Twitter / Smear merchants are salty at, because they're always salty at someone and it's hilarious to watch them get even more salty
twitch.tv
Sorry to be "that guy" who posts his own clip. But it's an example of something I always watch and it genuinely cracks me up every time.
Why would someone want to watch me playing JRPGs, Touhou, and various multiplayer games with my friends?
Baste
Ten grand a month with no benefits is an unremarkable middle class income.
I post on Yea Forums. That should give you an idea of my charisma and people's skills.
If'll you're waiting for Halo on PC then probably. It'll flatline once Reach drops.
>Ten grand a month with no benefits is an unremarkable middle class income.
This is why you marry a teacher or someone who can put you on their health plan
Oh, the horror. Wanna switch places? I have entire college institute resting on my shoulders.
because I dont have any social media besides email and a cell phone (if those even count) so I cant advertise
I can stream well since my computer is gud but I doubt id get a single viewer especially since I usually just put on a podcast/lets play while I play some shit or silently with music
I also mostly play indies or old ps2/gamecube games
id love to stream but theres just no way for me to get an actual audience
I'd singlehandily keep unpopular manga going. I would pull a Watamote on fucking everything that catches my eye. I'd also commission a lot of porn and porn translations. Fuck it, I'd even fund manga translations. I would also get a lazyboy and a homegym that'd make /fit/ cream their tight fitting pants. Then once I hit my natty limit I would juice and juice hard.
I would irresponsibly spend my money and not have a care in the world.
>He got payed over 40k dollars to test a fucking game whilr streaming, essentially becoming a highly paid shill
>Bohoo I lost 40k suscribers because I didn't upload shit in 48 hours
I'm pretty sure someone like him can brush It of, and if he can't then he should just find another fucking job.
Oh wait that's right, he won't despite his whinning because he keeps getting hundreds of thousands for playing videogames.
Idiot.
My upload speed is garbage.
lol
I have literally no reason to not stream considering I do nothing but play video games all day. I won't get big or even medium sized but 1 sub is a little extra money.
There is no more of a complete way than to commit emotional suicide than by taking a passion that makes you genuinely happy and making your entire livelihood dependent on it.
Reducing what makes you happy into a chore will destroy you.
Yes, making six figures IS unremarkable middle class income, good job.
if i was on ninja's level, all you have to do is collect enough scam money from streaming to live comfortably without ever working again and then never stream again
>$1000
>per month
wtf do you do? are you third world?
>I lost money by not working.
Holy fucking shit.
He's just being a pissbaby because he's losing the fortnite audience and his numbers are plummeting
Because I'd go insane from playing the same shit everyday. I don't know how people have the mental fortitude to play the same game every fucking day.
>people seriously thought this green haired hack would overtake pewdiepie
I have dignity
Horrible internet.
All work sucks and you gotta bust your ass to get anywhere, streamer or not.
I can't stand twitch "culture".
Imagine if you could just make even a portion of that money and live.
I envy and fucking despite successful YouTube content creators and Twitch streamers because they are capable of making so much money doing jack shit other than play video games. I wish I could just stream and be successful but I'm too much of an autistic loser.
I have $8 in my bank account with $200+ in the hole (PayPal credit) and I don't have a job cause I'm a NEET.
Google and yandex has failed me kind sir. I request knowledge of the creator for this cropped act of depravity. Please accept this imagination of my dick after I get a hold of the full image as prior payment for your cooperation.
Playing the same game day in day out sounds about as soul crushing as being a wage slave.
can we get some subhype in the chat!!!!!!
poggers my dude epic
Not good enough. I think anyone who streams without being at least in the top 1% of players online is wasting their time. In fact I think it's kind of insulting. Who the fuck is Joe Schmoe to think that anyone wants to watch him be mediocre at a video game? Every time I see someone plug their twitch stream in an online game, I just want to fucking humiliate them.
If I made $1,000 per month I'd be thriving since I live rent free and pay for nothing other than video games.
Oh no, what will he ever do with his millions and by grinding I'm sure he means making millions more.
What a fag.
Reminds me of hentai prince and stony cat.
You have to be absent for 20 days for the company to fire you.
I've actually considered it before since vidya is my favorite hobby and my friends have always been pushing me to try since they all think I'd be good at it for some reason, but I see all these streamers and every last one seems like a fucking monkey doing a dance and putting on a show so the plebs throw quarters at them. If I ever do stream, I'd probably just do it cam/micless and just do jackbox or something every now and then for Yea Forums.
You would be exactly the same if you ever got to that point
if you are the guy which leaves for days with out notice you are probably not in for the good paying jobs anyway
I have regularly worked jobs that had Saturdays being mandatory here in the US.
Some jobs are just 9-5, some jobs though need productivity goals reached and that's where saturdays and sometimes sundays come in when things fall behind.
You can be a variety streamer, do just chatting or creative shit so pretty much as soul crushing as you make it be
>quit working for 2 days
>only make 550k dollars that month instead of 600k
wooooow
Doesn't each sub net him 5 dollars that month? He just lost 200k smackeroos.
TPBP
kek
>makes 200k a month
fuck my life
Twitch take a BIG cut of subs, and the IRS take a tax a lot of his income.
He's still the biggest faggot in the world, but he is losing money
>tfw carry over 20-40 hours each year because I'm not ridden with AIDS and susceptible to every damn sickness on the planet
>he cant enjoy one game
>he has to keep playing fotm garbage and shovelware
lmaoing@urlyfe
Depends on how much twitch takes
not for the shit tier jobs
Because I’m a non-native speaker of English and won’t last in a competitive market with the natives.
And in my own language (Russian) there’s exactly zero demand for the kind of games I play (old and new weeb shit on consoles) and zero opportunities to ever make any money as people here are poor and stingy.
fpbp
I can handle myself fine in a public space but put me on the internet and I won't be able to stop all the casual vitriol Yea Forums ingrained in me to come out.
user you're forgetting the however many couple thousands of children still subscribed to him
$2.50 is the pleb cut. As you pull in more subscribers, your cut goes up. $3.00 and $3.50 are pretty common, and a full $5 100% cut is not unheard of once you hit the massive numbers to rival esports events.
Streaming was OK when it was a side project. Like a pro- / good player showcasing his point of view, interacting with chat, giving tips and all that.
Now it's turned into some glorified cult with its own set of drama and substories. Almost every big "personality"-streamer lives with each other and only interact with each other, while raking in millions for "reacting". It's insanity.
She has a front ass but now I'm wondering if she's got back tits.
That's Dagasi's artstyle, I'd recognise that anywhere. Check Pixiv, user.
Are you a genuine neet then?
Because you need 2 of 3 things to become a streamer:
-dedication
-skill
-charisma
and I have 0 of them
That's why we gotta work hard to try to take it back.
Oh no he will only get 900k this month instead of a million what will he ever do
>stream Vampire The Masquerade: Bloodlines back in 2015 and the first day get like 25 viewers watching me at my peak of just that first day
>suddenly i get a mix of feeling of how much I fucking hate this, having to entertain random strangers while worrying about the number count at the same time
>go down to 15 viewers by the time i'm done, which still isn't that bad\
>the next day I stream it's only around 12 viewers watching, but still for just starting out seems really promising numbers
>realize i don't care whatsoever about what the viewers say and having to put on some bullshit facade like I do is tiring
>never really stream again, destroying an actually promising start a lot of perpetual 0-2 viewers who've been trying for years don't even get once
It's really not all that cracked up to be from my limited experience. I'd rather play vidya on my own.
Yes. I work in administration in a hospital.
Wrong. All you need to be a streamer is to play video games. To be successful enough for it to be your job then yes, you need the things you've mentioned.
>we
funna gunna be a yikes from me dawg
What the fuck is a personality streamer?
Here's how you solve your problem:
1. stop watching """""personality"""" streamers
2. stop watching big streamers
3. look for streamers you'd like
4. ????
5. profit (for them)
I've found a few streamers that are fairly entertaining to watch. They are all good at whatever game, talkative and informative and they are entertaining.
lol same here, 36 hours a week 8 hours a day for 1000$ a month
I'm thinking of going back to uni though
If we're arguing semantics then you don't need to play videogames either to be a streamer, just stream irl or asmr or whatever the fuck
I just have a small following for my loli doujin translations.
ah fair enough then. is your income in relation to cost of living or is it just shithouse?
What do you do user?
I'm not arguing semantics, where the fuck am I arguing semantics? The definition of a (video game) streamer isn't "someone who streams video games for a living and has a sizeable audience". It's just someone with a camera and a video game.
>inb4 now you're agruing semantics
You brought it up.
name
shit i work 20-25 hours and make the same amount every month
>playing forknife
>job
>is your income in relation to cost of living or is it just shithouse
It's a mixed bag. Renting a bachelor's flat costs me ~$230 a month (really low standard). However some fucking genius mastermind decided that I still have to pay $60 for vidya here.
Clerk in a pharmacy.
Just pirate whatever games you can
I'm a chef at Wendy's.
Poor internet
I don't have a youtube fan base that will follow me to twitch. Also I don't make youtube videos because I don't commit to recording every game I play, which I would likely need to in order to pull the content I want from them.
I remember casually streaming once for an entire two months years ago because I had fuck all to do. They were mostly just 3-5 hour romps of me listening to music while playing shit like old RTS campaigns (AoM, RA2, C&C Generals, Battle Realms), playing on a private RO server, browsing steam's most popular releases and just throwing caution against the wind, etc.
It started off slow. Mostly just played silently with the music on but because no one barely streamed some of the shit I played there were always a handful of maybe 4-5 people that would sometimes show up. So it started with me just shooting the shit with chat while I played vidya. Apparently some of them were just fucking bored as well, with some dude doing his master's thesis while chatting with us. They'd answer questions, I'd answer them, and vice versa. Even got away with saying the casual "faggot' and "nigga" in there.
I peaked at like 15-20 viewers for a while but at one point halfway into the second month some dude I didn't know, apparently one person in my chat linked my channel to him, raided me with like a hundred people. This is while I was playing Papers, Please I distinctly remember this. And jesus fuck it was a culture shock. Imagine this entire new sub-group of people with their own culture and in-jokes suddenly becoming your audience and almost overtaking all your old chat bros. Imagine that and then just perpetually experiencing it as you climb the twitch ladder. I hopped in one time to watch the dude who raided me and man the amount of hustle he goes through was a bit much. It was at that point that I beginning to get around 50-100 dudes but at that point I just stopped because it wasn't comfy anymore.
The best part of that time was when I just sat in the middle of Payon for like three hours while I talked with six or so people in chat.
But then I realized at that point I just wanted to go back to the golden age of Ragnarok.
There's no virtue in turning yourself into an automa for a living. This kind of petty bullshit is just another reason why it's fucking stupid to live for streaming, along other factors like being forced to only focus on what's trendy right now for example
There's no more depth to this compared to flipping burgers
Shippoyasha
hey man at least you've got an apartment and job, doing a good job man
are you training to advance in that field or is it just a paycheck?
>overqualified being an excuse
It's not. When you say all those things you know or do, what they conclude is that the moment they start giving you shit, you go "fuck it, I'll start my business/do IT/whatever", and do like the user you replied to
you have to have a fake persona and play shitty meme games instead of games you love
that's the prob with twitch
>Imagine this entire new sub-group of people with their own culture and in-jokes suddenly becoming your audience and almost overtaking all your old chat bros
Sounds like Yea Forums after 2016. Oh wait.
The true horror is Kripp because all he does is play Hearthstone and shit mobile games forever and ever every day.
Oh no, the struggles of making 7 million dollars instead of 8.
>tfw I get 9 weeks paid vacation/year
mmmmyessss
FOR SAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAN
Just for a paycheck. It's a pretty cushy job so I don't mind it too much, but I did feel like a fucking loser when I learned my old highschool buddy was studying to become a doctor.
40k subscribers is $100k per month
and to this guy it's fucking nothing
boo hoo
clean it up wagie
>doing a good job man
Thanks. I hope you're doing well for yourself too.
time and time again proven bs, but whaterver, if you have this attitude people would not like you anyway when you give up and unistall all game after failing on a level for 5 minutes
>
> (OP)
>The problem is I'm a massive asshole who tks and trolls my teammates. I fuck around too much and rarely have a kd higher than 1.0
Sounds based af, I'd watch you
>Battle Realms
MY ABSOLUTE NIGGA
woomy!
Would you watch me if I streamed myself running up to people in Pavlov and then acting crazy and shooting myself in the head?
How can anyone lack this much self awareness? The faggot earns millions playing fucking video games, he's not down a fucking coal mine.
Only if it would be in Elevator.
bro... the struggle... *cough*
i'm dying bro... please... subscribe...
He probably meant followers not subs.
>P-please user......I'm going to die unless you subscribe
>How is one man supposed to live off of millions a year?
I think the worst part is that he damn well knows when peoples subs run out they wait until he's streaming again to resub, so he can thank them. So it's no surprise he's losing subs when he's not streaming. He's gonna gain them right back when he streams again
It's always mindboggling to me that people donate on-top of subbing
like jesus christ this guy is already making 20k/mo, do you really need to run mommy's credit card just to get ignored for your dumbass comment
>I think the worst part is that he damn well knows when peoples subs run out they wait until he's streaming again to resub, so he can thank them. So it's no surprise he's losing subs when he's not streaming. He's gonna gain them right back when he streams again
I haven't thought about it, but you're probably right. But hey - at least now he can play a victim of his success for a while.
>OH NO I'M A RICH STREAMER WHO GETS PAID MILLIONS OF DOLLARS BY EA JUST TO STREAM THEIR GAME
>PLEASE PITY ME WHILE YOU'RE ALL GRINDING 9-5 DESK JOBS
>I JUST WANT TO BE ABLE TO NOT TURN UP TO WORK ON A MONDAY AND TUESDAY WITH NO CONSEQUENCES!
How can this fuck be so out of touch?
That tweet says it was posted on a Wednesday, which means it was a Monday and Tuesday that he didn't stream, idiot. Most people, if they don't turn up to work on a Monday and Tuesday because they don't feel like it, get fired.
If we're speaking about a male streamer (so the beta orbiting isn't in effect), it's a combination of those things :
-your message shows up on stream
-your message is guaranteed to be seen/read (popular streamers can't read the chat because it's too fast)
-the streamer says your name
There are more uncommon reasons but this encompasses the majority of why people donate, you even have people donating 5 dollars back to back with the second one saying "bro you missed my dono here's another 5 bucks lol".
I'm wondering why parents even let them do that
My 5 year old cousin got streamer merch for his birthday and I wept inside
Earning millions is still no excuse to neglect losing 100k+. Are you that retarded with money?
Do people seriously unsubscribe just because they were gone for a couple of days? Ive still subscribed to people that havent turned on their stream for years now because I cant be assed enough to log back into twitch
>out of touch?
A statement has to be unpopular with the fans to be out of touch
Ninja is exaggerating. They don't unsubscribe, they don't renew/do it offline because they prefer to do it online
It's just delaying the income by a few days
>oh no, I lost 0.0026% of my followers, this is so sad!
Do not underestimate the attention span of children
Ninja is a Ramadan loving fag fuck this douche he can move to the mid east for all I care oh wait he won't because he's a pussy
But he says Nigger all the time on YouTube.
So basically like it happens in any job as a self-employed person.
I wish I had a cool job.
I don't care for vidya like I used to, and am admittedly happier after getting involved with other hobbies. I feel as though if I did become a streamer, I'd end up returning to speedrunning, and speedrunning (although fun) was a soul sucking experience.
Are you as retarded as Ninja and think losing subs counts as a "struggle"?
*said
why do you think he constantly purged his own channel?
A "follow" is not the same as a "subscription", you idiot.
Jesus fucking christ you blogposting redditor nobody gives a shit
>he thinks people in the 3rd world make 1k per month
LMAO!!!
Because watching your online pretendfriends play video games is stupid, and I don't want to make money off people doing stupid shit.
Same reason I don't draw commissions for furries.
That's a regular monthly salary in eastern Europe though, which you COULD call the third world, if you wanted that word to not make sense anymore.
Why would anyone watch me over the other 1871821709 streamers? Even I can't answer that so its pointless
>you even have people donating 5 dollars back to back with the second one saying "bro you missed my dono here's another 5 bucks lol"
Please tell me that's a complete fabrication, I refuse to believe that
It's a natural response to not being used to your recorded voice. You just spend your whole life sounding one way, then you're told you sound differently. It causes a dissonance between the voice and yourself, and you dislike it.
I find my recorded voice very nasally, though no one has ever commented on it. My recommendation for you is thus: If nobody ever complained about the sound of your voice and you still have friends despite hearing your voice, rationalize that your disdain is unjustified. Listen to your recorded voice, get more used to it. Try to see if there's anything you can do to improve it. You'd be surprised what speaking slightly louder can do to a mumbly voice.
It's your voice. Own it.
Some people really like giving money away.
It's like that Seinfeld episode where George only tipped $10 at the café because he wanted the waitress to see him do it.
Nothing changed in the twenty years since that episode.
delete this before someone else wastes their time reading it
wtf he's a TI player how is he not skilled???
>You're the best at being YOU! Nobody does it better!
Really though, your motivation for doing something shouldn't be indentifying a unique selling point. You enthusiasm itself should always be the driver.
So if you can't answer why you'd even WANT to do Twitch streams, then that's a much better answer for why you don't do it, just for the sake of your own mental health.
donating ruins fucking streams completely
you end up with a bunch of unfunny assholes talking on TTS to the streamer or constant trash music requests
a manlet
save it and retire after 3 years
some cunts are doing adderall and streaming for 16-24 hours, do you really envy someone who is literally destroying their body?
I want dumbfounded when I saw the phenomenon in action in the first place to begin with.
Who gives a person money randomly for sitting around playing video games?
Who watches others do that and thinks "I'd want to do that some day!" instead of "What's happening here? I better leave."?
Having friends doesn't mean you sound good, just that you otherwise are okay. You probably can name deficits in your friends yourself and still keep them as friends. Training your voice takes effort just as getting /fit/ but it pays off. Same way you respect the friend who got fit more than the one who let himself go and turned into a landwhale.
This. Unless you have the most obnoxious voice in the world, most people aren't going to care what you sound like. Hell, some people might even think your voice is cool.
I recommend playing around with your voice too. You'd be surprised at what kind of voices and noises you can do if you actually try.
You can't do this as a gay guy.
So stop being gay.
Done.
I don't think you can do that as a guy, full stop. Gay guy probably has a better chance.
This is why I wish I had a job, having stories to tell to people, life experiences, feeling emotions, even if anger.
Have you started your own business yet user?
I can't even find a min. wage jobs. I can't do shit like service or sale because I'm scared of people and never get called back.
I can write/read/speak English (not my native language), I know my way around a computer pretty well, but I have no other skills; and I'm too dumb for college.
It would probably make a lot of money for special events or certain types of streamers. Normies are fucking everywhere, even my irl friends think redditor shit like funhaus is the ultimate form of entertainment.
Because 90% of streamers make barely any money. Ninja being rich is like saying some guy won the lottery so buy lottery tickets.
