is this because those libtard brothers got kicked off twitter
>6 years
i am getting old
Why did Razer bought this piece of crap in the first place?
I had no idea razer even bought that piece of shit, what kind of retards make the decisions up there?
Ouyabros...
At least they can still play their physical library.
The only news was that this shit still had support of sorts.
>Ouya
I thought Ouya was defunct as of like 9 years ago...
Ouya vs N-Gage in a battle for the GREATEST CONSOLES OF ALL TIME
>Oh yea that existed
Wait, Ouya was owned by Razer? kek
>Thank you for believing, but you can stop now
I know it was a piece of shit, but fuck
That line it's just depressing
The Ouya company sold themselves for obvious reason and was bought by Razor
How could this be happening to us, ouyabros? We were supposed to win this one. I mean just look at this catalogue.
sad that it isn't even worth collecting seeing as there are no games on it, it's literally a paperweight
POST YOUR FACE WHEN YOU NEVER BOUGHT A PHONE PROCESSOR THAT PEOPLE COULD CODE EMULATORS FOR
No, it's because that piece of shit was an abomination with no games and the worst controller since madkatz went out of business.
Razor? The crack group?
Not that I ever bought into this shit, but I really don't get any joy seeing this die. I really hoped something would have come from the micro-console fad where we could get a cheap console with just quality games. No room to make over-bloated service games, just clean indie stuff. Sure there's steam but that's fucking aids. Maybe some day
>Make mini console with same processing power as phone
How was it ever going to succeed in the first place? Why would you get an Ouya when everyone has a phone?
Bros...
I want one as a keepsake.
No, dude, the ngage at least had a few decent games and the redesign was kind of nice but came too late. Ouya was just an abortion.
Isn't this thing huge in China? I thought Alibaba bought it. I distinctly remember seeing pics of Ouya-tan being paraded around in a skimpy Chinese dress for the viewing pleasure of a bunch of Chinese businessmen.
Nintendo Switch: Like the Ouya but people actually bought it
How could it have failed when it had such great advertising?
youtube.com
Tell me, can you use an 8bitdo bluetooth controller with it? It wouldn't be so bad if you can pair it up with that and turn it into an emulation machine.
this was still the early days of mobile gaming. the era was so hamfisted on trying to making everything like a smartphone look at windows 8 and how well that turned out
And I'll get to relive the blunder with PlayDate
Dude, this hidden gem of a console struggled running neo geo games.
>2013 was 6 years ago
WHAT THE FUCK
I didn't know this thing had still been on life support.
I get your point, but even for a small form factor, low power device this thing was just miserable. I bought one as a joke for my kid and the controller's buttons sometimes get stuck while pressing them, and since the fan is on the bottom, you had to set it to the side, otherwise it would overheat. It saw all of three days of use before going into the attic.
>6 years
jesus
I don't see the similarity.
Yeah true, and it's processor was considered old two years before the console even came out. Maybe the Android market place or another place like it gets its shit together the HDMI-phone plug in future people used to predict may come true after all
They probably bought it for a bag a of peanuts.
Wasn't there some exclusive Ouya games? Wonder if they ever got ported over to something else.
There was some shit with a frog, I think?
Gaming
but on the TELEVISION
Yeah, and something to do with towers plus Yoshi's Big Adventure.
I think they all got ported eventually, or they were too shit to matter. The thing was running android so "porting" them was automatic.
I still had mine.
I liked it. It was good emulator machine.
Razer bought the company off the communists shortly after launch and it was a complete failure. I'm guessing they thought they could do something with it, what exactly that was I have no idea.
Projecting redditjakbro?
Again? Ouya dies about as often as Voyager 1 leaves the solar system.
I bet it dies again in a year when razer fires all the remaining former Ouya staff.
Nah, it can't even run PS1 games and the controller is the worst one I've ever used.
No
is this the press s gif thread
No
Oh yeah, that was a thing
>2013 Yea Forums: The ouya is going to become a success, sony and M$ eat your hearts out. Who /ouya/ here?
>2019 Yea Forums: not even one F when the console dies forever.
Fucking hypocrites I swear to god.
they bought Ouya because it had online store infrastructure that could be implemented to similar hardware they produced
Based. This is your future steamfags.
TowerFall was the only decent one, and it got ported.
There was never support for ouya on Yea Forums you newfag
for now
Yes there was you fucking poser, at least before the scamstarter was successful.
2013 was the prime era when Yea Forums was looking at anything and everything to fail and laugh at it
the switch is basically the indie-games console that the ouya set out to be, plus the joycon controller adapter thing kinda ends up looking like the ouya controller if you have grey joycons. obvi it's a nintendo console, but the switch eshop has been slowly trickling out like every major indie game of the last 7ish years
There was. A lot of people thought it would be the best fucking thing ever. Then it released and it had what basically amounted to cellphone games. No AAA company took that thing seriously.
That's every year you ugly cunt.
they probably bought it cheap for rights to some bullshit
long live the zune of gaming
They knew the power that little box contained but were unable to harness it.
Add pippin to the list
4chin down?
This shit bothers me so much.
what is dead may never die
what the fuck lmao it was still in production?
>with the fan you can really crank performance
>Ouya
More like Ouno
did the creators of superjail make this
Jesus, I forgot this fucking thing even existed at one point. Didn’t it kickstarter at the same time as Star citizen?
i legitimately don't even remember what the Ouya even did, it came and went like a fart in the wind for me.
Shame, bought it for skyrim and gtaV to play on the go but the pricks never delivered.
Once it lost duck game as an exclusive it was fucking game over anyways.
android as a console
>people literally thought you could play Skyrim and CoD on this
Kickstarter really attracted the retards
Razor jewed themselves.
It was just supposed to be an ultra poorfag-tier console that ran phone games like candy crush.
By the time it released there were already ~$200 smartphones more powerful, and obviously have the utility of a phone.
what the fuck, this shit happened almost a decade ago?
where did all the time go...?
Wasn't it also supposed to come with the deal of "free games"? Buy the console and play anything you want? Don't know how that was going to work.
>he actually thought a device that has the same specs as a phone from 2011 could run these games even at the lowest settings
You have no one to blame but yourself
I think they bought it so they could somehow get the retards who funded it to buy razer products, there was nothing worthwhile in the scam product.
You're telling me people bought the ouya just so they could play fucking duck game? It was game over the second this piece of shit came out.
But Skyrim is coming before it closes... right?
It's a shame. This would have been the perfect machine to play Diablo Immortal on.
>mfw my roommate gave $200 to their kickstarter campaign
I hope you're still giving him shit to this day.
I only gave him shit back then because he always complained about being short on money while buying stupid shit like this and playstation 3 games.
Any good movies?
He's lucky, he wouldn't hear the end of it if I was his friend. A few years ago a friend of mine fucked off to Thailand for a few months and somehow managed to end up completely broke even though everything is dirt fucking cheap in this shithole, I'm still making fun of him because he can't manage money to save his life.
But with strange aeons even death may die
Even the N-Gage had a few cool games and ports, like Falcum stuff, Metal Gear, etc. Ouya had the android port of Final Fantasy III and that's about it.
F
>Muh emulation box
Wii can do better.
no there wasn't, are you retarded?
Yea Forums was laughing at retards expecting skyrim and other popular games to run on it, knowing full well that it'll only run garbage phone games
It was still technically "alive"?!
They did? GOOD RIDDANCE TO BAD RUBBISH
I want to fuck Ouya-tan's corpse!
*bloquea su camino*
No, user, that's the rationalisation you just came up with. You weren't here back then.
Thanks I could help, bro.
At least that shit had RE4. What did the ouya have?
Nigger I was here you newfag redditard
get the fuck out, you came here during the election
You weren't, stop trying to fit in. Nobody gives a shit.
I was, you weren't, end of this dumb charade.
Can't believe your buyers remorse over Ouya is making you do this.
i thought they did that ages ago (like, right after the purchase)
Good thing the hardware is still usable via side-loading (unlike that other little box with a fancy game controller that starts with "O" as well)
user database or something as sinister software relater
a severely butchered version of it, mind
ouya 2 when
The hell is that about?
And we can't forget about the Gizmondo
Reminder:
1. The fan doesn't exhaust the hot air out of the vents.
2. The company mismanaged its stock so badly that it is now impossible to know whether you got a retail or backer version no matter how you buy.
3. They didn't think through hardware internationalization at all and nearly had shipments of Ouyas destroyed for not meeting international safety mark standards.
4. .. And they marked their international backer shipments as gifts because they think customs are stupid enough to not notice something is wrong with 20+ identical gifts sent at once from a corporate address, thus making their customers obliged to pay a penal duty top up.
5. The customer service was non existent. The only way to get a reply was to tweet publically about the problem, but it was never a helpful reply.
6. It's was meant to be open but it HDCPs the output.
7. It's was meant to be open but it had no recovery mode and thus can be permanently bricked.
8. It's was meant to be open but it required an Internet connection and a credit card number to even boot it up.
9. The analog sticks didn't return their positions properly.
10. In attempting to fix 9 the developers made so many changes that it was impossible to tune the controls of a game because a different console/controller might be returning different values for the same motion.
11. The buttons on the controller could get stuck under the faceplate.
12. It used its own download service, which was glitchy and slow.
13. It used its own download service, which didn't have much content on it.
14. They claimed they wanted to solve the problem of indie channels being unprofitable because they are flooded with crap, but did absolutely nothing to try to solve this.
15. ... So their channel was flooded with crap.
16. ... And most of the good games were already available on mobile phones.
Not him but he's right, I remember that too. Stop being an obtuse newfag cunt
Just ignore it user. It was fishing for a sucker and he bit hook, line, and sinker.
>not having every single game you play backed up and cracked
How would you go about doing that? I've been trying to reuse a few of the cracks for some games on others, but I obviously don't know what I'm doing. I just want to play games without starting up steam.
>1. The fan doesn't exhaust the hot air out of the vents.
That's what you get for putting them at the bottom, you don't even have to be an engineer to tell why this is a bad idea
>2. The company mismanaged its stock so badly that it is now impossible to know whether you got a retail or backer version no matter how you buy.
You're telling me the red slip with the cringy message on top of the box is non-indicative of whether it's retail or backer? Wew lad
>6. It's was meant to be open but it HDCPs the output.
Copy protecting the entire hardware that was advertised as easily moddable? What were they thinking?
and now she works for playboy
>almost a decade
6 years isn't "almost a decade".
A 30 dollar raspberry piece of shit would be leagues better.
I'm not done.
17. There was no password entry or anything for the in app purchases, so if a game can trick you into mashing buttons it can pop up the purchase screen partway through and have you OK it with a button press before you even notice anything.
18. It advertised itself as budget and cheap, and it's not good business to develop a game for a console aimed at people who don't have any money.
19. It advertised itself by its ability to run illegal emulators.
20. They ran their demo in the parking lot outside E3.
21. The unofficial forum admin accidentally included a hentai link in their sample development screenshot.
22. .. And Ouya themselves included the word "redtube" on their official twitter feed.
23. Amazing Frog.
24. The Secret of Universe Alpha which had a PC demo that installs a bitcoin mining trojan onto your computer.
They got more than 8 million in it's kickstarter campaign alone.
Then Alibaba tossed an other 10 million.
Then they sold it.
Julie Uhrman most probably came out with enough to retire her children. And yeah, I know that OUYA was sold off because it had debts, but that became Razer's debt not the owner's.
It's blatantly obvious that Uhrman's whole plan from the beginning was to just get OUYA on the market then sell the company to a bigger entity regardless of the performance or sustainability of the business since that's how 90% of start-ups seem to work. The OUYA was literally a get rich quick scheme
It's quite common for these people to take even 90% of the investments as their own payment and sell the company cheap and laugh all the way to the bank.
hes talking about the krassensteins
>21. The unofficial forum admin accidentally included a hentai link in their sample development screenshot.
>22. .. And Ouya themselves included the word "redtube" on their official twitter feed.
Truly, RIP
>21. The unofficial forum admin accidentally included a hentai link in their sample development screenshot.
>22. .. And Ouya themselves included the word "redtube" on their official twitter feed.
Sounds hilarious, but 22 is less heinous with some of the shit modern corporate PR accounts get away with nowadays. Was it an intentional reference?
Also, link to hentai?
>24. The Secret of Universe Alpha which had a PC demo that installs a bitcoin mining trojan onto your computer.
Incidentally, was it chinkshit?
Turns out that mobile games are shit, even though there are millions of them
Its obviously the game.com.
N-Gage is massively better than Ouya. It had actual games instead of mobileshit (despite being a fucking phone).
