I don't see many people using an over/under arrangement for dual monitors. It allows you to have a primary and secondary monitor without having to turn your head 30-45 degrees and allows perfectly positioned bookshelf speakers. I've found it to be much more comfortable than when I had a single monitor with a TV beside it for video media and extra display space.

it's very nice and minimalistic, perhaps just a carpet for the middle of the room to regulate the temperature changes that can occur. Personally I'd get some cloth/carpet looking neat designs with flower patterns in many colors on the "ceiling" to give color to the room but that's just me.

almost all video game stuff was saved, my ps2/sega cd games which did not contain anything too expensive became disk only. rest of the losses were cardboard boxes the worst of which was steel battalion but the contents were luckily not in the box at the time.

my house has a raised foundation so the main floor was unaffected so i was able to continue living in the house, then i spent the last couple months cleaning and drying out the basement, the paint on the concrete walls is coming off in several spots now but at least it looks like i can rebuild my setup now.

Are you planning to take precautions in case shit like that happens again? Thinking now that you're rebuilding you'll be able to reassess some aspects.

There's literally nothing wrong with putting a PC onto carpet. The worst that can happen is that you get shit airflow if it's a bottom mounted PSU plus extra dust buildup, that's all.

Did you buy cotton candy instead of an actual carpet? Either way it's already been said that placing your PC on a carpet isn't a great idea if it's a bottom mounted PSU.
