I love all three but Devil Survivor was my first Megaten game and I will always love it for that.

I guess devil survivor is more what I'm looking for. Persona doesn't take place in the post apocalypse.
I wanted something that took place when the world is already fucked like in 4 but more focus on its characters but not in a sloppy way like 4A.

Persona & Devil Survivor are what you're looking for
Personally don't want this. I think the strengths of SMT games lie in it's gameplay, exploration, player input and customization. It does this better than any JRPG.
