>Where are a couple of months
Right here

Attached: 2019-calendar-v2.0.jpg (3508x2480, 596K)

i dont get it

It has been playable for months though. I completed the entire game a few weeks ago. Was fun.

The only game where I can play a reality bending mage
youtube.com/watch?v=he0IuJ3t0gU

Its a remake of Daggerfall, the best RPG of all time.

There's still some features missing and the futur look good because Gav spoke about adding a real sea into the game.

That actually looks cool as fuck, whatever that is. Man I fucking love videogames.

To cure your lycanthropy in Daggerfall, you have to give your diseased blood to a sickly child to pass the curse on to them, then murder them once they change.

getting into this now. this is actually a lot cooler than i though. i was surprised when i started the dungeon and i saw the tree was actual 3d. so this is like a full remake with new assets?

Attached: dagger.png (1285x711, 748K)

forgot pic

There is modding support. It already have quite a lot of mods actually.

Attached: D2DtgrqUgAAgz3g.jpg (1200x750, 77K)

Still waiting on Morrowblivion.

What's with the ugly ass font that doesn't match the game?

Ability to switch font. This one is cleaner and easier on the eyes. The original is available. This is retro mode

Discontinue. So does Skywind, Skyblivion is where its at.

Attached: D7sCJCwXoAATq5C.jpg (1200x675, 116K)

Attached: DagOC.jpg (1915x1080, 593K)

holy shit, this is a lot cooler than i thought it would be

Attached: bar.png (3000x1594, 1.06M)

What does the remake change?

-Port the engine to Unity
-Support modern system and resolution
-Modding support from the get go
-fix all old game bugs and quest relate bugs
-Lot of small things that make the game better and easier to play, like the 3D mini map

I already have a save in my dosbox version, is it worth restarting?

Attached: 1499039427895.jpg (400x501, 137K)

what ever happened to that user who was gonna walk across the daggerfall map?

Attached: 1556663037769.png (476x732, 328K)

no, while it is playable from start to finish there's still a lot of things missing or not working as inteded.

does it make it easy to install and are you able to play it like a normal fps game with wasd + mouselook?

Its possible but you need to restart the Brisana quest via console

Of course. Just need the free version of daggerfall here.

Then Install Daggerfall Unity

I've already been playing for a month or so. Went on hiatus until they released the build with the magic item maker. Pretty much everything is in the latest build, with just a little bit to go. Pic related is my character right now. Went with a busted OP spell-absorbing caster custom class and have just been killing everything by spamming fireballs at my feet. Pretty fun. Might go through with a melee guy once it's finished, but the game is way more tedious until you get good weapons to increase hit chance.

>1918x1080
What?

Custom resolution support I guess

Attached: CT9vCslUYAATX69.png large.png (1023x574, 1018K)

My favorite thing about Daggerfall might be the zero tolerance anyone has for you sleeping in public. That shit is illegal as fuck no matter where you go.

MOOOOOODS

I intend to reintegrated the prostitute guild and full fledged animation once its fully release.

Attached: 1499816790285.jpg (640x480, 103K)

is it still the jank combat system? i didnt really like swinging the mouse around vs just clicking the mouse

There is the option for just clicking now

Attached: SilOkkG.png (1019x633, 287K)

I like that too. Finding an inn is such an integral part of the game, and really makes me feel like I'm living a full life in Daggerfall whereas Morrowind onwards makes it too easy to just rest wherever or just never sleep except to level up.

I especially love the dungeon design in Daggerfall more than anything else. The mazes are really fantastic, and the generation gets you some extremely difficult ones every so often until you start to recognize the "chunks" that make up the dungeons and git gud.

why do people on Yea Forums purposely like to play old shitty games with terrible dated mechanics?

because it's fun

All mechanics from Daggerfall are present in Skyrim. Daggerfall has just more of them in shittier graphic.

youtube.com/watch?v=a8L6ZYvkEI4

>All mechanics from Daggerfall are present in Skyrim.
See that mountain? You can _____ it.

Attached: 1488610890871.png (254x451, 244K)

There is a fucking climbing skill in Daggerfall.

Attached: CasualGaming.png (1396x679, 357K)

>extra spell pts during winter
>those side effects

Is this a shop or does Daggerfall actually have these mechanics? Have they really been dumbing down every single TES since the beginning?

Attached: What.jpg (640x480, 25K)

Yes, user. That's the point of that post. That is a mechanic from Daggerfall that is NOT present in Skyrim. In fact, there are shit tons of mechanics from Daggerfall that are not present in Skyrim.

>Have they really been dumbing down every single TES since the beginning?
Yes

Attached: YES.jpg (1280x720, 60K)

Is this vanilla daggerfall? I really want to play this now.

Yeah, you could give yourself phobias and shit to offset the perks at chara creation, was pretty broken but neat
After Battlespire the guy largely responsible for Daggerfall fucked off and TES was doomed to become theme park instead of building on complexity

did you just ignore the rest of his post on purpose just to make an argument that he already addressed?

>Where are a couple of months away from the remake of the greatest RPG of all time.
This has to be 1996 Todd that traveled through the future.

Once upon a time, there were quite a few angry autists at how dumbed down Morrowind was.

Attached: Daggerfall vs Morrowind.png (1013x1355, 90K)

What is this.... it's a parody, not a real dungeon... right?

He wrote two opposite sentences, with the first one being completely false. If you want to say Daggerfall has more mechanics that Skyrim, say that. Don't say Skyrim has everything Daggerfall has before saying Daggerfall has more than Skyrim.

Attached: 1558040232178.jpg (500x594, 65K)

Wait, I saw this Dagerfall unity stuff like a couple of years ago. Is it still not done or is it playable?

Daggerfall dungeons are places you have to prepare for, have a plan just to get back out again and try to spend as little time in there as possible before you meet something awful and completely beyond your ability to kill
God forbid you don't leave a trail of gold pieces to lead you back to the entrance

Oh its real. old rpgs gave you hardcore megadungeon mazes that took literal days

Nah its custum, but some Dungeon can be very hard to navigate. Teleport is almost a must.

Attached: daggerfall_dungeon.jpg (800x600, 125K)

I'm pretty sure he just made a mistake on the first sentence user. Relax

>Is it still not done
Correct.

>is it playable?
Also correct.

Well, now I'm curious. Thx

I just skipped through a video. It looks..comfy.

It look more like Hilary

>you walk into the inn and rent a room

man the font makes finding the numbers a lot easier than the original, but it will take time to get used to

can you fuck them?

I've never played Daggerfall. My first TES game was Morrowind. When Daggerfall came out I was mostly console but I remember playing Dungeon Keeper 2 and shit like the Lost Mind of Dr Brain.
Is the character supposed to be some sort of reverse centaur or is it a werewolf (or khajiit) on a mount without weapons?

I love Daggerfall. One of my favorite RPGs. If you ever want to get a feature-complete jumpstart, you can get a pre-modded (IE all the bugs fixed) from

en.uesp.net/wiki/Daggerfall:Files
(first link at the top)

It's DOSBOX and the vanilla controls are hot garbage, so immediate remap them after you make your character (particularly an easier look up-look down mapping. I had played my first few days thinking the only way to see a rat was to crouch, lel). Once you have a nice control setup, it's all smooth sailing.

And by smooth sailing, I mean prepare to die 10-15 times in the initial dungeon before finding your way out. It's ruthless against improper starting builds. If you get frustrated, just watch a guide on the route out and blitz through. That way you don't have to worry if your an archer or whatever.

sorry annon, I'm usually one of the first to bait with bad opinions, but not even I can pretend daggerfall was/is good

Looks like a type of lycanthrope (probably werebear or werewolf) on a horse.

In DF, khajit are only the wood elf-looking type, not the furries they are today.

Thanks, user. CompUSA special edition took me way back.

Werewolf on a horse and using levitate

>werebear
There was a druid class in oldschool TES?
>wood elf khajiit
Oh, right, I did hear something about khajiit that look more like catgirls than cats but I thought that was a joke. I also heard about khajit that are actual giant quadruped animals.

Why be on the horse if you're gonna cast levitate?
Why cast levitate if you're on a horse?
The fuck is a werewolf doing on a horse or casting magic?

IIRC, there's 3 types of were- in DF: werebear, werewolf, and wereboar.

Khajit have always had different forms depending on the phase of the moons when they're born. It ranges from house cat to giant predator cat to furries to catgirls to normal humans.

horses go fast
make the horse fly
being a cheeky shit

>Why be on the horse if you're gonna cast levitate?
Faster.

>Why cast levitate if you're on a horse?
Faster flying.

>The fuck is a werewolf doing on a horse or casting magic?
This is Daggerfall, not Skyrim.

>This is Daggerfall, not Skyrim.
I never played werewolves in TES. Or vampires. I hate both too much.

>a couple of months
While most features are implemented already, this is still in pre-alpha, there's still the actual alpha and beta to go through. I'll be pleasantly surprised if it gets finished this year.

So the full sliding scale of anthropomorphism from "not" to "literally just a human".
Tell me at least that the housecats are intelligent because I just had a horrible mental image of a random ass cat giving birth to a human baby.

Intelligent, yes, but some combinations simply cannot be healthy for the mother.

Attached: Capture.jpg (3894x2000, 1.46M)

Ohmes is what you play as in Daggerfall, Looks like a regular wood elf.

Forms looked fine until Tojay. It fucking shrunk. Tojay-Raht looks stupid and it and Tojay both have creepy ass human faces.
Ohmes is literally a human, odd one out there because it has no fur at all. Ohmes-Raht is a shoddily done catman.
I guess the Sunthay to Cathay range are what we've seen starting Morrowind. Cathay-Raht is a fucking beast.
Then there's actual tiger and holy fuck that is one giant monster of a cat at the end. Looks more like a goddamn bear.

Does this come in a female flavor? I want to see that Cathay-Raht mommy.

all khajiit are born as small kittens

That's one hell of a growth scale on the Cathay-Raht and Senche/Senche-Raht if they start as tiny kittens.

they can also travel to the moons if they do enough moonsugar
basically, it's magic, nigga

Damn, everything about early elder scrolls lore suggests that they were on some really good shit.

too bad they disregarded literally everything to be the most basic shit imaginable

I thought that was just them being so high they actually astroprojected their souls.

either way, it's magic nigga
