What was your method of cleaning vidya discs? Which method actually works.
What was your method of cleaning vidya discs? Which method actually works
the best way to clean a disk is to take care of it and put it in a case
just use a terry cloth and wipe it from the inside-out. Do NOT use any cleaner OR use a swirling motion to wipe it
that's not cleaning a disk you dipshit
this.
All these 'cleaning liquids' and 'cleaning CD cases' were just going to ruin your dvd.
>bought gamestop disc cleaner as a kid
One of my biggest mistakes.
It's a disk, not a cartridge where the contacts build up dirt. If wiping it with a rag isn't enough, you're dealing with scratches at that point so good luck taking off the scratched layer.
Imagine actually going through your whole life on superstition alone instead of actually figuring anything out
I used turtle wax and it worked.
When I was in middle school and broke I would buy scratched copies of Xbox 360 games from movie rental places for like a dollar. Then I would borrow my friends copy, install the game to my hard drive, then the shitty disc was good enough to bypass the DRM at the beginning and it was play off the HDD. I thought I was so smart getting brand new games for a couple bucks.
actually oils build up which can easily be removed with alcohol
Who are you quoting?
Small circles with a rag and some Brasso would buff out any scratches that my discs got. Was pretty useful since my little brothers constantly left them outside of their cases.
imagine how many people ruined their discs by wiping toothpaste all over it cause they didn't realise their toothpaste is filled with little crystals
Dishwasher obviously
I used Axe body spray on it, then wiped in a circle motion with dry cloth.
When I was younger putting the disc in a freezer was the advice given to me.
>did it work?
No.
Actually, who the fuck was quoting?
> The best way to put out a fire is to never be around a fire
You're a retard.
Who the fuck am I quoting?
hydrogen peroxide on a cotton swab
>zoomers will never know that feeling when you put in a disc and it doesn't work
optical engineer here
CD's are just engraved epoxy-plastic grating structures, coating with aluminum
ideally you clean using a non-contact method or liquid solvent
avoid physically cleaning it (i.e. with a rag or cloth), they're fairly resilient for a commercial product but you still run the risk of damaging the grating structure and ruining your disk
who the fuck was quoting?
I once resurrected a Inuyasha ps1 disc doing that.
I put them away after they were done and didn't leave them out like a fucking animal. My disks were never dirty.
