What are you going to do when the streaming only future arrives?
What are you going to do when the streaming only future arrives?
Play old games instead. Nothing new is ever good anymore anyway.
i dont know i dont even play video games
Already started bodybuilding. I know what the future of vidya looks like. Just look how soulless hollywood is.
I won't participate. I'm at the stage of playing my backlog and eventually I'll take a long break. With the e-celeb scene, always online, matchmaking, mtx, and all this other bullshit, I've lost interest in keeping up. Everything is so homogenized, as well.
Play my vidya. I still own what I currently have.
t. contrarians
your not cool
meh, I never was anyway
finish my back log
Start playing more /tg/
Like Warhammer?
Probably fully P&P Tabletop RPGs under the OGL.
I refuse to believe there won't always be at the very least a niche group of developers dedicated to making games for local play. Hell, you can still buy Blu ray movies, and honestly, when was the last time you did?
Watch it crash and burn.
hopefully I'll have grown out of vidya by that point
BDs are great, you can rip them yourself and play that shit on any device without the need for YIFY garbage
I would play my DRM-free backlog that I'm backing up right now; for PC, Mac and Linux, just in case. I plan to get the Humble Monthly just for the 50 games of the Trove.
You don't have to tell me. I used to be far more autistic about the very real visual and audio advantages of physical media vs streaming. I still occasionally will go get a disc for this reason, or at least download a proper rip. But I can't think of one person I know who still regularly consumes movies on physical media, yet they're still perfectly accessible to buy. That's my point.
Anyone else kinda getting tired of just pressing buttons and staring at a screen?
No, just me? Alright.
Back log for 15-20 years and then suicide
>derp, everybody is a contrarian, except the consumerist me
Use my software engineer degree skills, take a loan and then become leader / cofounder of studion similiar to
>cd project red
>warhorse studio
And make millions because no other competition makes it easy.
yeah, video games suck, but then so do movies, comics, stories, books, music, art
Yeah, that's why I use a trackball (?).
Doubt i'll be playing vidya for much longer, Given the state of things
no money?
Dumbass, I'm not being contrarian. I just don't think those things are good as widespread phenomena and they detract from my personal enjoyment of many games. It's called having personal preferences, I'm sure an idiot like you is bewildered by such.
>mfw a smashfag walks by
Wow dude you might be onto something !
>conformity is good for me
Streaming is the next logical step of digital distribution. Streaming games would not even be taken into consideration if PC gamers didn't cuck out to digital only years ago.
Myself and the other real gamers didn't want digital distribution but there are enough brainwashed casuals that make it so our opinion doesn't matter. Paying for a fucking download was normalized and popularized. The step from digital only to streaming is a much, much smaller step than going from physical only to paying for a fucking download. What makes people think streaming won't be accepted?
I'm guessing 10 years from now, after the next console generation is done. Streaming is fine for movies and shows but not with input lag. That will drive me crazy.
And in 10 years that is another generation of people, my demographic has shrunk to nearly nothing, and I am officially pushed out.
Assuming I am still interested in video games, I will go and finally play through my backlog. There are literally hundreds of games to play to last me a lifetime. Or maybe I will finally get a life.
I have hundreds of old games to play
It won't be allowed to happen. Even if some games follow that model it'll never be all of them.
I dont even remember the last offline singe player game that I finished, might've been soma and that was years ago.
Games that aren't big AAA titles aren't even worth the resources to stream. There's no way that every one off game, AA and indie developer is going to stream. They don't have the infrastructure for that.
you mean cloud computing?
>physically owning a computer is illegal
