I think ADV simply helps me pay attention more, you see the story one line at a time and so every line feels more impactful. Also generally has better UI with menu functions present on the textbox. You don't have to click often so long as you actually use auto mode

Hisui's route is one of the most metal things I've ever read.
Shiki ends up bedridden for some three or four days straight, and is stuck with migraines that make him feel like death, and like his entire brain has fried, like using his MEoDP for a long time but even worse, and it only goes away when he sleeps.
Except when he sleeps he goes into an increasingly paranoid SHIKI's mind. SHIKI, who shares senses with Shiki while Shiki is asleep, can sense when Shiki is stuck with him, and goes insane whenever he does, stabbing himself until he stops. And so Shiki goes between headaches that can kill a man to being fucking stabbed awake, and not just feeling the stabbing, but bleeding and everything else too.
Hisui's route without a question makes the not too bad other routes look like trash in comparison, and also makes the entire rest of the VN worth reading just to see and experience to the fullest.
It also makes you cry like a bitch.

There's so much potential for an action game as Archer, where he gets an assload of different swords/spears/bladed weapons and the like each with a different gimmick/ability, where you can randomize which weapon you use or set your favourites and "load" a new one when one breaks and so on, but sadly it'll never happen because his design is too close to Dante and the only people who cant do it any justice (DMC team/Bayonetta) wouldn't find any interest in making a game like that with a Fate character instead of their own series.

Did you read the VN? He was being dramatic in beating himself up over choosing to prioritize Sakura's safety, but he still did everything in his power to keep her from killing more people as well. He still followed his ideal, even if he was claiming he wasn't anymore. In spite of the shift of his PRIORITIES, the result was Shirou not killing one to save others like Kiritsugu did.
He had to make a tough choice, one that was always foreshadowed he'd have to re-encounter repeatedly in previous routes like UBW.

I guess it doesn't matter the semantics though. Shirou still settled down and likely stopped his heroic shit and stuck to babysitting Sakura because she consistently plays the victim and that triggers his hero autism enough to keep him around.

He's not just selfless, he has a problem putting his own needs on any level of priority when other people have needs. Hence why cooks, why he lets Sakura and Fuji-nee come over for breakfast and dinner, why he tells Saber that he's just being chivalrous to the point it looks like misogyny, all of that. If you read the VN, his internal monologue is really telling. The moral of the game total is that being a phone hero takes mental health issues.

You absolutely want the Realta Nua version, it has full voice acting, professionally done CG's and updated art etc etc. As for the cringe scenes you can patch them back in if you really want to, fan made repacks usually offer such an option. Replacement scenes are a lot better IMO and fit well with the lore.

What are some legit really good VNs? I'm totally new to them and have only played Danganronpa which was pretty gud. I want to see the best of the genre
