The reality is that Zesteria and Berseria are equal. Both are two sides of the same story, spread 1,000 years apart. Zesteria is just filled with a lot of depression, while Beseria is supposed to be depressing, but it's more entertaining due to the cast. The real reason why Zesteria is so hated is the behind the scenes politics involving Rose.
