They're both great games. Which one you think is better probably comes down to what you think is more important. 64 has better levels and more memorable areas, Odyssey has better controls and more nuanced mechanics.

When I played odyssey I felt kinda cheated, the game looks bigger than what it actually is. It's still a great game though.

Mario 64 was made by a smaller team, so it has more soul. Thats how it works. The larger a design team is, the less soul the game can potentially have.

I think they're about on par, though I prefer Odyssey

If Odyssey had sliding, and Mushroom Kingdom wasn't so disappointing it would have been objectively better.
