How many people have actually played chrono trigger...

how many people have actually played chrono trigger? i hear everyone say its the greatest jrpg of all time but next to no discussion about it other than its ATB system, OST, and character design

I've played it probably 4 times through. I've played Chrono Cross about 3 times through. Both are in my top 5 ever, but I put Cross ahead.

Because it's been discussed to death and is part of a series with no future.

It is really damn good though, not my #1 jrpg but it's enjoyable and better then most of the genre. For me personally it's short length and quick pace makes it easier to return too compared to other jrpgs.

well still theres new people coming in trying it out right? no one says anything like "why is there no party chat like in other jrpgs?"
that came to mind right away, i dont know how people can love this game without some form of party chat or interacting with you party outside of cut-scenes

I played both once and I don't see how anyone could consider Cross a wholly good game.

I dislike both of them for being WAY too story heavy, and you can't even skip the cutscenes, which is an even bigger sin. That, combined with the new game plus which was admittedly innovative for the time, only compounded how little I cared for the story.

i played through Chrono Trigger twice, it's a great game. i consider it a must-play game for anybody that is a fan of JRPGs.

i would love more CT discussion, but Chrono threads are always rife with shitposts between the CTfags and CCfags, and after so many years there's just not much left to say on CT that hasn't already been said. if the franchise wasn't condemned to eternal purgatory then we'd probably see more threads about it.

I emulated it like 20~ years ago when everyone at school was sharing complete NES/SNES/GB rompacks.

>i dont know how people can love this game without some form of party chat or interacting with you party outside of cut-scenes
Because it's not necessary? Have some imagination, make up what you think the characters are saying, like a real rpg? Have you never played a rpg where your party is just generic classes?

Fuck Judau and his shit taste in females.

It's one of my favorite NTR series along with Lufia 2!

I've been pushing my way through Gundam in release order and basically every character in every series is being painfully, aggressively retarded in every scene and I just don't know how much more of this I can take.
War in the Pocket and Stardust Memory are the only two so far that didn't feel like my brain was dying with every episode.

The eternally cucked childhood friend, lmao.

I just binged the original 3, CCA, and F91. Out of all that, Bright was the only sane person and he got shat on at every possible moment. Kamille was nice though.

well yeah i have but ive always found party chat a nice feature since sometimes it gives insight to a characters past or what they like
its not like you can't make up what the are saying, it just gives a little more common ground other fans can work with

it's fun, good story, good skill system, time travel is nice, one of the best soundtracks ever (shame it's on the snes tho), atb sucks but doesn't ruin it
it's worth 1 or 2 playthroughs
Dragon Quest V is better

I was like that when I was watching them, by ZZ I learned how to love Tomino shit-characters shenanigans

Agreed on both points. A show with Bright as the main character would probably have been better than any of the original UC series. I'd recommend you try War in the Pocket or Stardust Memory, they're both short and clearly better than the original 3 or CCA. WitP has the best story and characters, SM has the best animation.

Just wait until Victory. So fucking retarded.

the game has been discussed to fucking death online what kind of discussion do you expect 25 years later?

>tfw 7 episodes into Victory
at least now i know for sure not to hope for it to get any better

I played it for the first time a couple years back, and it was really good, but I didn't have much to say about it, and I didn't feel any desire to replay it. if I had played it as a kid I would have been more interested in getting the other endings I think, but as is I just don't wanna deal with the roadblock battles again

oh yeah, and Crono in Smash > Erdrick in Smash

I finished it once. Really enjoyed it. I’ve been planning to go back to it soon since I got the DS copy

You don't need to play it to know that it's the greatest jrpg of all time. In fact, it's a lot harder to say this with a straight face if you've played it, therefore people shouldn't play chrono trigger.

just youtube the endings.
also crono has a super fucking boring moveset.

So, you have shit taste, and you wanted it to be known?
