Ryza is looking good.
Nah i'm waiting for the next EXA_PICO installment
Ryza is sexiest Atelier since Sophie.
no really wanted a male protag for once, disgusting to have all these female protags all the time. fuck trannys and their yuri degeneracy.
honestly this
but they would need to make their setting in a town on the other side of the planet far away from their precious lesbians otherwise idol / yurifags would throw a tantrum large enough to destroy whats left of their company
>Nelke's tits
What did OP mean by this, literally the only person to mention them
I hope my 2080ti can get stable 30fps on this
It's way too easy.
>Japanese game
>Stable FPS
>that ocean
Water looking really good now. Might even be possible for an future installment of Atelier to be featured on islands like the pacific islands.
They were quickly forgotten, but they did get mentioned a bit when her game was coming out.
>no time limits
Hard yikes
Been playing Lulua after finished Atelier Lydie. The quality of audio and soundtrack is very subpar compared to Mysterious series especially Lulua and Eve voices.
Interested in Atelier series' crafting systems. What game should I play first?
>Anybody else playing Atelier Lulua? How's it going?
Pretty good, though I got stuck sometime in chapter 3/4 due to overthinking, but now I'm just rolling through the game, currently in chapter 7. Game doesn't run a stable 60 FPS, though that might be because of some settings I put in for it. Otherwise I'm liking it.
Pleb feature that will never return
Sophie is the greatest alchemist to ever live!
If you're just interested in the crafting system, start with Sophie.
If you're okay with time limits, start with Rorona.
Starting with Lulua is also okay.
It'll probably run at best 20fps on PC
>tfw this image paints the game in a much better image than it really is
>tfw can't walk through the streets as the beauty that is Nelke
I myself am wrapping up chapter 3, I defeated the boss in Orthogalaxen and I'm going back to Arls and Arklys to see some side events before going back to Arland's Parliament.
And so is my wallet.
Sophie has pretty basic one you can begin with. I really like Firis's, but right now I'm having trouble with it. Rorona is really straight and to the point, it's like Sophie except without another thing added.
What is with them and getting rid of it? Sense of progression feels like it's gone. Think it might be because of their short ass dev time that they cant make a good time limit?
They said they removed them due to feedback from players who were stressed out by them and because they kept making the environments bigger and thought time limits were counter-inductive to exploring them.
On a scale from 1 to Atelier Sophie, how good is this game?
I finished Nelke & the Legendary Alchemists: Ateliers of the New World, and man does that game suck. Not sure what Steam reviewers were thinking, unless there is a trainer out.
Why did you post a picture of me on the right?
>tfw can't remember the reasoning behind this CG
Damn that really sucks. The time limits with all its systems really brought it all together. Now the time system and date system feel weird and out of place.
Nelle is it's own thing, no other atelier game plays like it. Sophie is a good start for getting the feel of current atelier style.
The good news is that Nelke introduced you to every single important character in the whole franchise, so no matter what game you pick now you'll have some familiarity with them.
Agreed, Lulua is my first Atelier without time limits and I've been wondering if there is a point to having a calendar at all. Are there seasonal events?
>because they kept making the environments bigger and thought time limits were counter-inductive to exploring them
The challenge of Atelier Firis is getting to the exam. Yet it gives a false sense of comfort in the fact it never tells the player they need to complete several large tasks before they can take the boat, to the tip of the continent that the test is on. Speedrunners are the only people that can pull it off with time to spare.
Atelier Iris never has time limits and it's still one of the best games. I'm not sure why you enjoy having to replay a game several times to actually 100% it. It's a waste of effort.
It's better than Sophie, if that's what you're asking.
Yes, there's the Arland festival that starts in December and some shit that only grows in November from what I've experienced so far. If you're too slow, you'll miss the Arland festival, has some neat shit to buy.
Solid 7.5 for me. Comfy game and it has the most catchy battle theme.
youtube.com
>It's better than Sophie, if that's what you're asking.
Depends what you mean. Is it exploration based (Atelier Totori) or task filled (Atelier Meruru)?
>false sense of comfort
>not get to Fussheim and immediately start trying to rush to Reisenberg as fast as possible only to still not know what the exam entails and why the mayor wants you to stay inside Reisenberg when that means not getting materials
Then you time travel with your save and do it right because there were too many questions of how limited time was. Apparently it just goes to waste if you don't use them at the end. The exam requires you to do quite complex stuff like actually memorizing stuff
She's really cute. I'm guessing I need to play the other Arland games before this one though?
It's advised since there are tons of references and returning characters and places, but it's still standalone enough in terms of having its own plot that you don't absolutely need to play the first three games to understand it. It's also very different gameplay-wise.
Nelke is a cutie but fuck taking walks, I need to micromanage these clueless alchemists and all their sidekicks running stalls.
Capitalism, ho!
>No pop-in, grass doesn't thin out in distance.
This is going to run terribly, isn't it?
Fuckin heck, man. I still haven't been able to finish arland (that's on me tho) and so I think ima have to wait for this one to be discounted. Haven't gotten more than 5 hours in nelke yet and now there's a new girl with a FAT ASS? I just can't keep up. I'm literally starting to play multiple games at the same time but then I either get burned out or top horney. How the fuck do y'all do it?
So is there a plot to these games or is it just capitalism simulator:alchemy edition?
>the next Atelier game is actually a major improvement in graphics
It was about time.
A bit of both? You progression requires completing tasks, some which require you to go to specific areas.
Gust has always been most of a generation behind in terms of graphics so they're about ready to hit PS4 level.
Is the Lulua fun? Waiting for it in the mail.
Most people won't even understand that chart, but how did you pull that off? Did you heavily invest in multiple buildings early on or something?
Make multiple saves? Or just do what Ayesha does and let you pick the ending. I really dont think it's that much of an issue. Besides dont most replay the games to make stronger gear for the post game bosses?
Depends on the game, there can be a little plot here and there but it's often an excuse. The Arland subseries is kinda weird about it for instance. Rorona has no plot aside from the basic setup of having to complete tasks from the town's government to avoid them closing your atelier down, Totori has a plot about the protagonist setting off on an adventure to find out what happened to her disappeared mother, Meruru is back to little to no plot with the protagonist being a princess tasked to developed her backwater kingdom before the day they're set to merge into their neighboring country, and Lulua is rather plot-heavy with a journey, a mysterious book and the secrets of the world's past.
PC port when?
Just don't stop. Be like Sophie. So busy doing Alchemy that you miss Church all the time and your best friend scolds you because you haven't appeared for like a month.
Huh? They've been released on PC alongside console for like the 4 last Ateliers.
Hows the switch port?
Or just I just go for PC?
>capitalism simulator:alchemy edition
More like Blacksmith Simulator: Alchemy Edition. You start busting out a notebook for these end game combinations and numbers. I guess nothing makes you feel more alive and like an actual alchemist than this.
Fucking KT. Unless that is a cutscene, those graphics look far better than the PS4 version.
Can't help you. I was playing Totori non-stop, but five hours into Meruru, I just stopped playing altogether.
>Hows the switch port?
Unironically one of the best-performing jrpgs on the system. I'd say only Vesperia is superior, and that's technically a decade-old game. You can try a demo from the Japanese eShop if you want to check.
>Or just I just go for PC?
If portability isn't a deciding factor, then sure.
>tfw Firis's screen is bugged and I can't see what All Stat Enhance does
There are no words for my suffering. I assume it's either 3 or 5 to all stats minus resistance. Can anyone confirm?
it looks the same on PC as on PS4. I've just forced a higher resolution and added reshade here, runs like shit. The PC ports have literally no graphic options.
Are the Switch ports tolerable?
Playing Atelier in bed sounds neat.
>be playing Atelier on Switch in bed
>such an exhausting game that you fall asleep midplay and your face gets a tablet lodged into it
It's very neat.
I've heard L&S on Switch was bad. Can't compare since I played it on PS4. Lulua, I've been playing on Switch with the framerate dropping a bit in towns when docked yet it's really smooth in handheld mode
I've got one of these bad-boys, I can fall asleep whenever with no fear of bludgeoning.
Lydie & Suelle: eh, too many issues in handheld mode
Arland Trilogy DX: generally yes, I've had slowdown in Arland Town Square in Rorona for whatever reason and a few other places here and there depending on the game, but otherwise it's good
Nelke: haven't played it yet
Lulua:
By the way, all of these impressions are mainly from handheld mode.
Do these games sell well enough that they have to make a new one every month?
>runs like shit
Addendum: Runs like shit when you're playing in 4+k with heavy reshade effects. 1080p is probably fine if your computer isn't 5+ years old.
They're low figures in comparison to millions, but they sell more than indie studios that's for sure.
Their usual ballpark seems to be 200k worldwide a few months after launch.
They're stuck in a vicious cycle where they sell just enough to make a new game but only if the new game takes less than a year to make, which means it won't be more than mediocre but they sell just enough to make a new game but only if the new game takes less than a year to make etc.
Atelier Iris is terrible. It was the first game in the series that I played, and I never would have tried another one if a friend hadn't convinced me to give Totori a chance.
I squee'd like a moron when Totori showed up. I'm more attached to her as a character than is probably healthy. That also means I'm going to eat KT's DLC bait.
Based Totoriposter. Can't wait to play her game and see what's so hype.
In my case I connected to her more than I did to Rorona or Meruru because her situation is much more serious, she goes on her journey because her mother disappeared when she was little and she wants to find her. There's also friction with her sister who initially doesn't want to let her go fearing she'll disappear as well, her father has been a broken shell of a man since then, people in her village clearly know more than they're letting on about what happened to her mother and there are some developments I didn't expect throughout that made me empathize with Totori a lot. I love Rorona and Meruru and find them really entertaining, but their situations were much less serious and lighthearted.
Is Ryza supposed to be a sequel to Lulua continuing the Arland saga, or will it be a new game in it's own series?
>It's better than Sophie, if that's what you're asking.
They aren't even the same game genre. Why are you so mad that Sophie is the best?
Lurk for 3 years before attempting your first shitpost.
New game. We don't know if it'll be the start of a new series or a standalone, but given the series' history it's safe to say it'll be the former.
docs.google.com
One of the best things about the mysterious series is the levels of autism in the fan community.
Tabs are at the bottom of the screen.
I just finished chapter 4 and kind of want to wait for the Totori DLC to drop since this is the earliest point in the game you can use her.
however KT put out no fucking schedule and they didn't release any DLC this week. I want to kill them.
Not until July possibly. Just play regular and do a NG+
I checked on the eShop and it looks like that the first DLC pack (which only has outfits for some of the base game's party members and the Machina Domain postgame dungeon) is coming out on June 4th, although I think it might be already available if you bought the Deluxe Digital Edition. There's not even listings for the Totori and Meruru packs so who knows when those will be out, I'm not even sure the Meruru pack is out in Japan yet. I can't wait that long, I'll play the game now and either do a second playthrough when all DLC is out or just play it all in the postgame. It takes a special kind of evil to make me wish their disc-locked DLC was all day-one.
The content isn't on disk. They published version 1.0 of the game and all the DLC content are inside the version updates. Sometimes you can find dummy files and placeholders in that version 1.0 but from what I saw extracting assets from the JP Switch and PC versions they weren't implemented.
Not even the stuff from the first pack? Good to know that at least, though it's still way overpriced.
Oh, the Totori DLC isn't even out yet? I may play another game first and put this is my backlog until all the character DLC is out.
>Totori contemplating how she can get Mimi to take her out for dinner
Have the tables been turned?
>you end up waiting until Lyza is like three months from release
Not even kidding, if the release schedule is the same as Japan, the DLC is unlikely to finish until at least August.
Man, I'm looking forward to seeing Mimi. For the time being I had fun with Eva literally fuming when Ficus told Lulua he took an interest in her.
I can't say completely about the first pack but at least Totori and Meruru aren't implemented in any way. Probably the music too
How are the games on Vita?
At what point should I switch from Vita to PC?
They're all kinda bad, but you get used to it. Just don't play Lydie & Suelle on it.
Is crit damage 2x or 1.5x?
Is this one any good?, hows it compare to previous games? Everytime I play a new one it feels like the quality drops and Im losing interest.
I love Ryza!
anyway to unlock the camera? i just want to play a generic jrpg and look at pantsu.
Arland Plus ( Arland DX minus a Lulua teaser) was a PS3 game and converted without much issue.
Dusk Plus was also PS3 port. Definitely some slowdown in exploration areas. Shallie is a little rough where they inserted new content and they messed up the English dub files in Ayesha so that ultimate attacks are early game dialogue.
Mysterious is where things started going downhill.
Sophie had a PS3 version in Japan that allowed for an easy conversion (even the PC version runs on toasters with integrated graphics with no issues.)
Firis and Lydie & Suelle both didn't have a PS3 version with a focus on PS4 and larger exploration areas. All Gust vita titles from that point onward were barely playable buggy ports and most were skipped for the west. The PC counterparts also require a graphics card to run.
Switch did OK with Lydie & Suelle, but Lulua is the first one actually designed with the console in mind and proper optimization.
So does this have real yuri or just bait?
>Vita
The same games are available on the PS4...for $80. People claim they are worth it, but they are not. Meruru and Rorona are based around doing a bunch of tasks around a centralized area, while Totori is about running around, and killing/making things.
A man after my own heart.
All Atelier games are yuri bait. The childhood male friends usually fade into the background halfway through, while they are not even given focus in the sequels.
Atelier Firis still has areas that drop to 30 FPS even on a midrange gaymen PC.
How's the PC port?
Hey! Eva isn't anything special. But Lulua is pretty good. She really grows on you.
in all seriousness though I immediately had more fun with the combat after I pirated it then I did at any point with Ni No Kuni 2
>No English audio
>Arland characters supposed DLC isn't even out in Japan yet
Yet people were so mad over "Esty Dee" to the point where they would cheer for Greedy GUST and KT to release three seasons of ridiculous priced season passes. NISA would have never allowed this.
There's varying bait depending on the game, but mostly best friends.
Rorona's (female) master was a lolicon and made Rorona dress in frilly clothing, She also had a Tsundere friend but hasn't reappeared since people ship Rorona with the male knight character.
Totori meets a tsundere named Mimi and they're still together over 10 years later in Lulua
Meruru also has a best friend who's her servant (since she's a princess) and they're also inseparable.
Lulua's "best friend" actually tells her she's romantically interested which is brushed off as a joke but then gets cucked by a robot girl.
>tfw they model the pantsu even though you can never see it under normal conditions
there's a jap guy who releases camera unlocks for most Gust games but it's usually months after release and he's only done two of the arland re-releases so far. There have been too many Atelier games released this past year.
NISA has nothing to do with deciding if a Japanese game gets tons of DLC.
You're just not looking hard enough.
So how's the C game with these characters?
I really appreciate when they model panties that aren't just plain white.
>C game
???
There aren't really any lolis in recent games.
0, zero, nada, zilch. For some reason Japan doesn't draw these girls on pixiv.
Now do this with Sophie and Firis
Bonus points if Lydie and Suelle
They're too pure
This is Gust we're talking about. They don't skip on that shit.
I want to rub my penis between Atelier thighs.
WTF why is Rorona such a deadbeat? If Piana hadn't decided to haul her ass to bumfuck nowhere, Lulua would've been mostly alone and with no way to learn alchemy. I haven't met Rorona yet, did she fall in a river to get fished out in the ocean again?
Totori is already her first daughteru.
Atelier Ryza
It looked like those pants could burst open at any moment.
Atelier thighza
I want the new thicc
If nothing else, Nelke made me interested in some of the older Atelier games through introducing the characters. The game had some issues, but overall I enjoyed it and would probably play a sequel even though it seems unlikely one will get made.
Pepperoni & Goto were based in Mana Khemia 2
>tfw haven’t got to see if Nelke has different outfits yet aside from the pyjamas
I want to see Nelke in this out fit
good lord those thighs
fuck i might give this a shot
>literal breeding material
SHE MUST BE INSEMINATED
i want her to squeeze me with her thighs
They are pretty big, but not really pronounced with her design. Makes you think if that's intentional since Atelier is one of the few game series to actually have a female target audience.
>we will never get any more totori cunny
Which is the most accessible of all the atelier games?
>Thick thighs
>Wide hips and probaby has a big ass
>Big tits
Damn she is perfect in the right places.
WTF bros, Nelke didn't get this much fan art in the first week!
Oh my, she has got to have the most assets compared to all the other ateliers.
My vote would go to sophie's game.
Her game was too difficult for Atelier oldies.
Pre-order my game.
>doesn't wear skirt
>can't get upskirt shots
wtf i hate Ryza now
lol imagine being gay
the other games where not really upskirtable friendly eighter
>female target audience.
stop perpetuating this meme, the target audience has been male ever since atelier iris
Not that guy, but I'd love to see the stats.
Delete this, Totori is the hardest game, this can't be true.
goy, her fried looks so shit and cringe
and her voice is also cringe
Her trailer has only been out for a day and I've already fapped to her a few times.
how?
literally how?
you fapped to a clothed girl?
i dont get it
Guys, how's Atelier Annie for the DS? It's the only one I have access right now.
>the space between thighs and pussy forms a heart
What did they mean by this?
good lord
I doubt it will actually look like this when it's out.
Who is lulua's dad?
Thick thighs girl is going to be a tomboy?
me
me
me
More like she can act a bit tomboyish at times which is not the same as "she's a tomboy character".
>Just don't play Lydie & Suelle on it.
What's wrong with that? Does it run particularly awful?
>atelier mama mia
Id be down
Fapping to nudes is plebian, you should know that.
All the Alchemists get locked in the Thunderdome! They have 5 minutes to prepare before it turns into a no holds barred free for all! Who will win! Who's hands will see the most blood!
Rorona will kill! Rorona will kill them all!
>stopped playing during the best Atelier to date
That's unfortunate.
Sterk's Pigeon.
>Lulua is NBR
burn it with fire and flush it down the toilet.
I WANT TO IMPREGNATE TOTORI
Anyone wanna watch a stream of it?
Looks like the areas are going to be just as small as in the previous games
Been playing Lulua few hours a day since release. Currently in chapter 7 and just unlocked a new area that let me finish a bunch of side quests
Not a big fan of some of the side quests that want you to use specific items/spells/skills X times. For example I'll have to go explode a bunch of rocks to finish one side quest next time I play
Do atelier games get frequent sales on psn? I want to start with the DX trilogy but 90€ is a bit too much.
For less than half of that I can get all the Mysterious games from ebay.
>sterk losing to little girls at arm wrestling
Why hasn't he killed himself yet?
Probably ever few months some go on sale.
I think this is the first time in this series I want to use everyone in my party. Currently thinking of having Sterk behind two alchemists and I can't choose who I want in the other two slots. Any suggestions?
It begins
I'm just sticking with the first 5 because I'm too lazy to figure out another good setup. Using both alchemists in the back
I was using that for a while and am also considering going back to it. The original five has really good synergy if you're going to be using skills. Though the alchemist frontline ends battles insanely fast if there's a weakness to exploit
You got a link for that?
Now that there's a shitload of steam Ateliers which should I play? Sophie was fun.
You are limited by the uses on bombs though. I was thinking about getting Rorona in to get a third interrupt but the game is easy enough already that I didn't bother
Arland trilogy
I need lewds of thigh girl
my butt hurts.
From what?
From small, japanese, niche genre dick.
Mysterious games are shit so all you have to buy is the trilogy for $90
Do it user. Well have Atelier for decades if you spend that much.
Buying 1 Atelier game at full price funds the series for another decade.
