For the people that really liked Yakuza 0, I recommend checking out Kiwami 2. It just came out on the PC and is one of the peaks of the series; massive improvement on 6.

it's in my backlog, first im finishing up kiwami so i can get caught up with the updated version of the story, only part i really like is the majima everywhere system

As someone that has played almost all the Yakuza games, including the samurai ones, I think Kiwami 1 is among the worst; it's just a substantial downgrade from 0 in pretty much every way, paired with the most cliche story. I like what they did to add depth to the villain, and I really enjoyed Majima Everywhere, but other than that, it was almost entirely a bore.

It's definitely an odd system, and sometimes you need to figure out what character/weapon type suits you best. The characters are all very different in terms of stats and abilities. You also have to learn the shooting mechanics, vehicle mechanics, and Overdrive, as well as weapon passives and TECH to create your build. There's a LOT of systems to learn, on top of each Melee weapon having a Bayo-tier list of strings that each end with a certain kind of Vehicle Attack (instead of Wicked Weave), and of course having Offset.

I can understand the appeal, but it just wasn't for me. I found it too clunky, too boring, too repetitive.
Well they're visual novels so I doubt you'll have problems with that.
