You know, whenever a character I wasn't particularly familiar with would get added into Smash, like Lucas in Brawl for example, I was never bothered. I always took it as an opportunity to learn about a new game series. Many of my favorite series have been introduced to me through Smash Bros. You know, I never played Persona 5 until Joker was announced? I bought the game and finished it because of his announcement and I loved it. So here's a question: why are so many people crying over Erdrick because they don't know much about him? Why can't they accept that this is a character that will make people happy? I feel like all of their problems could be amended by checking out Dragon Quest. If they like it, great, you found a new series. If they don't, oh well, it's just 1 out of 80 or so characters anyways. I don't see where all the hatred comes from. Are you mad that your parents took you to church every Sunday to save your progress or something?

it's not about erdrick, it's not about dq, it's about smash. erdrick is the most boring, generic character that could ever be added to smash. people have been sick of anime swordsmen that all look and play the same since smash 4, and erdrick only adds to the problem. people would be a lot less resistant to the idea if we didn't already have a million fire emblem characters filling the exact same archetype.
that being said, a lot of rosterfags are hypocrites on this because they beg for characters like isaac, crono and lloyd irving that have the same problem.
