SMT IV glitched out on me and I'm never looking back. Seemed good but once you get the overworld map it's horrible when it comes to pathfinding.

I'm really glad they fixed the map in IVA. The pathways were a lot more defined, and they told you the names of areas on the map properly.

Honestly, for the dungeons to be difficult and have good gimmicks. The dungeons in IV were a little underwhelming. Outside of that, some interesting architecture like Nocturne. More emphasis on exploration and over world interaction with the locations. The empty hallways are truthfully boring nowadays.

For the story to be Apocalypse tier, that would be frightening. Outside of that, a low amount of demons. I'm hoping for 250 or 275 at the highest. This is the first time we've had a fully 3D mainline title since Nocturne, so I hope they go all out.

I like Titania. It's a good name, I like A Midsummer's Night Dream and her design is simple but classy.

I hope SMTV bothers shaking up the formula while remaining recognizably SMT. Something like having multiple endings per alignment so they can flesh them out more and avoid the pitfalls of "massacre everyone/an hero to save everyone/be indecisive i guess". Also, I want them to emphasize the demons as an important feature in marketing, in-game, have elements that encourage people tio develop a fondness for them. They really deserve more attention then they get.

Only in anarchy ending and that's because Dagda turned flynn into his mind slave. Nanashi is pretty much equal to Flynn. The only time Nanashi got to use his own power without Dagda interferring is the anarchy ending where he separates from Dagda, and we don't get to see how strong he is by then.

Law & Chaos in SJ are downright bad endings, in comparison to Neutral. SJR makes the endings more beneficial for humanity, though. Either way, I still find Zelenin & Jimenez interesting human representatives. The issue is that they downright didn't give a fuck about the means, so long as they got the ending they wanted. SJR remedies this with the new + endings.

You guys are too hard on Zelenin. She clearly meant well at the beginning, but her experience with Mithra made her paranoid and turned to the angels for protection. Then Asura and finally Jack's team completely break her spirit and faith in humanity. When she's turned into an angel she gets the standard brainwash any good angel has and turns into a puppet. She's a tragic character really.

This is correct logic, we visit two such places in SMT IV called Blasted and Infernal Tokyo.
White is retarded not because their plan is to wipe out this one universe but because they think their plan will stop ALL conflicts in every universe.

That reminds me, the part you mentioned about Tokyo and knowledge makes me think about a line in the SMTV trailer. Something about the Da'at, and pursuing knowledge. The trailer also mentioned the Great Flood, or something along those lines. So I was thinking,

The White ending would have actually been engaging if they executed it properly, and there were a way to defeat YHVH. I imagine it something like, you defeat the alignment representatives, deny Isabeau, and end up finding a way to connect the Yamato Generator with YHVH's Dimension or something to erase him. You'd still die, but it would be based.

Also I like how both law and chaos endings are hinted to fail in the end.

I'm excited for SMTV attempting to capture that Nocturne vibe again, since Nocturne has a very rich atmosphere with extremely interesting visuals. However I found that Vanilla SMTIV slowly began to become my favorite SMT just for how interesting its settings and lore became, and I feel it would be a missed opportunity if they returned to using a simple story/setting like they did in Nocturne.
It helps that Kaneko himself came up with the world design and basic story premise of SMTIV. Here's hoping he's at least somewhat involved with V.

DeSu 2 will probably leave a sour taste after experiencing a great game like 1. SJ Redux is pretty good, I'm up to my third playthrough on it. IV is a good game but becomes way too easy.

Mephisto puts you in this escapist fantasy where you are chad on the beach with hot bitches.
The only way for you the player move forward is to reject said escapist fantasies and wake up to the harsh reality.
People always write off the beach dlc as a symptom of the persona cancer settling in.
It would have beem personashit if Mephisto created a domain that looks like a beach where you and your "friends" hung out for a day before fighting off mephisto with the power of friendship.

I think you misinterpreted it. It takes the orderly aspect of Law, and combines it purely with the Strong ideology of Chaos. The weak are killed off entirely, and the strong individuals shape society together in a orderly, beautiful fashion like Chiaki mentioned. She has support from Angels, so you can imagine that everything would be organized. I don't know, I wish they let you experience the world after creating a Reason. If Nocturne is ever remade, that would be nice.

One of the things I liked about the routes in DeSu is how it isn’t about you deciding whether to get fucked by either the demons or the angels. It’s you deciding what to do with your newfound power.

You must have a lot of favorite demons, user. Not him, but it actually made me use a lot of demons I usually don't give a fuck about. I had to experiment with sources, try new demons, etc etc.

To be fair, that mostly applies to DeSu 1 in particular. DeSu 2 is more so it's own game, strays away from the Angels vs. Demons, and doesn't have routes as easily defined as Law, Neutral, or Chaos. If DeSu 3 is ever made, I hope it goes back to the roots. More mythology and what not. I had a pretty cool plot idea for DeSu 3 at one point.

IV, or Apocalypse? In IV, you have to do a relatively big side quest string to gain access to the area. In Apocalypse, you reach the level 70 ~ 80's or so, and unlock the Black Card to gain access in a quest.

What was the idea, user?

there's very few "bad" places to start, givem you know what you're getting yourself into. The only places I'd tell you to never start are persona 2:eternal punishment, digital devil saga 2 and iv:apocalypse since they are all the second game in their respective duologies.
Really it depends what you have access to.
If you have a 3DS, I'd start with SMTIV
If you have a PS2, nocturne is good but if you care more about a constant story Digital Devil Saga might be better.
If you have a good enough pc you can emulate pretty much every megaten

I got the idea as a basis from some of the characters in DeSu 1/2 like Amane, Io, and Mari, who were possessed by demons in the games. The essence of the story would be
>Demon outbreak in Tokyo as usual
>Demons from multiple mythological groups would select certain humans as sponsors by possessing, and empowering them
>The humans branch off into groups and duke it out, in a Battle Royal fashion
>The group who reigns supreme gets to rewrite Tokyo and alter society according to the specific mythological group, without YHVH being present or any alignment business
It was mostly a shower thought. Many of the concepts have already been done, and it's not exactly original.
