Dunno about RP servers, but I started playing on /tg/ and most people seem alright there, even with newbies, so I can just mess around and learn the game.
Most heavy RP servers seem pretty intimidating and full of idiots

SS13 was dying, it needed new people. Normal servers just need a cap but shit like CM and Fallout greatly benefited from the massive boom. Fallouts actually fun now.
