AMD Didn't kill Intel

While 15% IPC gain probably put's it near Skylake IPC, it's not going past 4.6 boost with 105w Ryzen 7s. 12 Cores is nice though. You AMD fanboys need to stop smoking so much crack. Where's 5ghz or 16 core? Fuck AdoredTV lol.
>inb4 Intel fanboy
No I just buy the best and we'll have to see some benchmarks before a winner is truly decided

Cope

Intel has literally nothing to compete with this. Everything they have is more expensive, a housefire, for barely any gain whatsoever. Intel is unironically finished

I'm honestly disappointed. /g/ was making this out to be the holocaust. Maybe if the 3700x were the 12 core chip like rumors said, was 400$, and had 5.3 boost, then that would have been a holocaust. I'm honestly not impressed at all, typical ipc gains.

Let me guess, /g/ is having a meltdown right now because AMD shills overhyped this?

What's a good upgrade from an i5-3570k for gaming? My motherboard is pretty old so I don't think it supports Ryzen

Attached: 1369874352146.png (352x340, 222K)

Just build a new PC

No cope I do not care which corporation wins I play games at 4K, 8700k gonna last me while maybe when the benchmarks come maybe Ryzen 7 will be worth it

I've heard good things about i7-4790K but since it no longer gets hyperthreading its probably not worth it

You'll definity need a new mobo but the 180-220$ Ryzen 5 will probably be really good now

no they're pretending like amd just holocausted intel when they just made the expected 15% ipc gains and released an overpriced 12c cpu glued with infinity cum that was supposed to be 16c

>$499
The price makes it a winner.

Attached: 1558298590656.jpg (190x166, 9K)

remember that intel without hyperthreading is utter garbage, and intel with hyperthreading is a fucking mess

what ever,no different for old ryzen.
and more and more intels cpus going win, wait end of year.

tdp is just that high what is should be with more cores or clocks...none upgrade.!!!

looks same effect ike gpu sector, fury, vega and radeon vii...no different
well radeon vii was 7nm gpu, but not belive it! so lausy efficiency, and still slow!

ok, cputdp also same...there is anyhting new, just different name....i wonder how long amd can sell product with no profit..well looks that no longer...sooner or later its eat hole company and debt givens not tolerance more...end of 2020 is my guess.

hmm. i try really see different from ryzen 2000 series, but no....oh yeah... more cores..but is it only trend or commercial way.
you dont need more than total max 6 cores for gaming, even 4-core is enough. easily.
more than that is waist of cash, no matter how much its cost.

and,i still see not any goodies from amd 32-core cpu...erhh i mean where to use thouse??!! tell me..

200-cores cpu.... so what!

no help gaming,apzz or rendering...useless.

another hand, real pro rendering use always intels cpus...why??

well, buy them amd fans, you keep amd up and pay them callary...youself you give so little back.
except red fine main...lol

Literately Intel without HT will see you may at worst 15% less framerate at 1080p (also depending on the CPU and game). For 7th gen and older the only fix will be disabling HT, but for newer gens you can keep it on once the fixes get released. It really sucks dick and hurts performance but it's not a big deal for gaming

>PERFORMANCE DOESN'T MATTER
Why in the flying fuck would you want to pay more for less performance?

>Because even losing HT Intel CPUs are still a better investment than Zen chips were lol

Intel is the best CPU company in the world while AMD is some random chinese who'd steal your data while making garbage hardware.
I'd rather get Intel any day.

Intel and AMD use different sockets and chipsets so you'd have to get a new mobo anyways.

In what fantasy world are you living in? Did you miss the yet another wave of gigantic intel security issues?

This belongs on /g/, faggot.

They said gaming like 100 times at the conference this belongs here

Based ignoramus retard, Ryzen has been the better value since gen 1 and even before the intlel security shitfucks.

Attached: SeCUriTYHoLEsDoN'TmAttER.png (1063x145, 15K)

Everyone uses Intel so it's no surprise hackers try to find security issues with it, Intel already patched it so there's no problems there at all. Whereas AMD have the same security issues but since nobody owns those CPUs, nobody bothers finding vulnerabilities for them.

>mfw 3900x becomes the new flex standard for Yea Forums, /g/ and /pcmr/
imagine living in the year 2019 and using a c/t count less than 12/14. even worse, some people on this very website still using 4/4 and 4/8. literal homelessness on our 4channel.

Attached: 65789.png (1022x765, 572K)

When the intel chips were nerfed by the security patch, how was the patch distributed? I stopped updating my windows 10 before that happened, If I update windows would it nerf my processor? I google around and nothing comes up, kinda (((weird))) that I can't find much info about it.

>Value
Sorry I'm not a tiddy streamer I can flip burgers for an extra 2 days to buy a better overpriced Intel chip

>he bought an i9 9900kys

Attached: 1464129914861.png (512x384, 307K)

Except the researchers that found the security issues also tested AMD and it's not affected and the only way to fully mitigate the security issues is to completely disable Intel's "features" like HT, please stop pretending to know what you're talking about because it's very obvious you are just doing empty damage control for free like a consolewar nigger.

off topic

fuck off back to /g/ you pathetic neckbeard

lol COPE

Cant wait for AMD to reveal how shitty their CPUs are and full of security flaws when people get scammed into buying their garbage. You get what you pay for and bottom level prices mean bottom level everything.

imagine buying a 9700k and seeing today's announcement. holy shit, what keeps these people from ending it all.

These Ryzen CPUs will get raped to fit inside a console you know

I'm just glad AMD is igniting the CPU market again and bringing back competition. If it wasn't for Zen 1, Intel would still be making 4c/4t i7's.

Less than half the price and better performance isn't impressive to you? When has that ever been done before for CPUs ever?

HURR DURR MORE COARS ARE BETTER

Anyone who thinks AMD's new CPUs are anything worth buying are stupid without any clue of technology and don't know what they're talking about.

Reminder intel benchmarks are done without the microcode and OS updates, which greatly reduce performance

Why do you want ugly games nerd?
While this is all nice those are stock Intel chips, no OC

especially since by then there is probably going to be 3 more performance reducing patches for exploits.

Yeah good luck with that OC with higher TDP on 14nm

9900K turbos 5 Ghz.
3800X turbos 4.5 Ghz

Neither are OC'd. Intel's 5Ghz got trashed by AMD's 4.5 Ghz.

/g/ is gonna riot

Pic Retaled, why didn't they compare it to the 9900k itself then? They are hiding something.

I'd rather buy from an American company like intel than some shitty china garbage like AMD. At least I know my data wont be stolen by the gooks.

>Intel's 5Ghz got trashed by AMD's 4.5 Ghz.
Is this whole thread another ruse or is AMD actually going to be better for gaming for once in a decade?

Are you retarded? They did it for the Ryzen 9 which is less than half the price and runs better.

Attached: 1558929283593.png (2000x1543, 58K)

Nothing but a /g/ thang

If 60 fps is all you care about it has been better since Ryzen 1, the far better multitasking makes a big difference for 1% frames.

If the presentation is right, then AMD is now the king of single threaded IPC AND multi-threaded IPC.

Before Zen+ was ~10% weaker IPC than Intel. Now Zen2 has 15% IPC improvements. This puts them ahead of Intel. So even shitty games that run only on 1 core will be better on AMD.

Gonna retire my 4690K for a 3700x

IPC +15% and +15% clockspeeds with better thermals. Single core performance should be very close to intel.

Are YOU retarded they compared the R9 to i9-9920X a CPU that max turbos to 4.4ghz

See

But which of these are gonna be good for gaming Yea Forums? Im serious because I want to build a new PC in the next few months.

Attached: 1558454107115.gif (436x425, 152K)

well i mean it has a nice ring to it especially when they both have 7 and 700 on the name of the chip and both of those chips have a closer price range

cope

Attached: 1558929225713.jpg (2053x1025, 137K)

>This puts them ahead of Intel. So even shitty games that run only on 1 core will be better on AMD.
When are we going to see actual benchmarks that prove this though?

And uses 165 watt vs AMD's 105 watt and 4.6 Ghz.

AMD shits on them by 10-15%. In both single thread and multithread.

Literally anything will be fine, my R5 1600 still runs anything at 1080p/60fps.
Games aren't very CPU intensive to begin with, they're all designed for horrid console CPUs.

7/7 (12 more days) is the buy date, so I suspect embargo will be lifted on that day.

IPC is not single core performance. And also memory timings still should be worse than on intel.

>7/7 (12 more days)

Attached: what are birds.gif (250x250, 847K)

Cool, thanks. Intel has dominated the market for far too long when it comes to vidya. It's about time that they get some actual competition.

AMD showed IPC in both single thread and multithread intellets.

Maybe before the dozens of Intel security flaw patches.

3600X as usual.

I would hope a CPU made like 1 and half years later is better, that's called progress

buy the next gen ryzen 5 6 core
It's quite interesting that the TDP shot up 40w for a chip with 100mhz higher boost
Where you live that it's already June 27th

I doubt people really care about them. If I had an intel cpu I wouldnt install any of these patches.
IPC is instructions per clock not per second.

intel shills LITERALLY on suicide watch right now

Attached: 1529429838391.gif (1336x1358, 2.34M)

Software gets more bloated and inefficient every year though.

AMD is for poor people. You aren't poor, are you? You do buy the best, right?

Same day. It's listed on their product page they just didn't talk about it

>I doubt people really care about them. If I had an intel cpu I wouldnt install any of these patches.

You don't have a choice, they are installed through automatic updates.

Literally all AMD did was meet any non shill expectations, they failed their fanboys

Horrid console CPUs, like the next gen consoles on Zen2

>249 burgerbucks
Nice. Definitely worth a wait then. Though that cheap ass 2600x is tempting.
for real? Fuck me, I know what i'm getting for my birthday.

Attached: 1558245009021.gif (500x500, 292K)

going from a half dead 3570k to 3900x will be interesting.

Next gen consoles will use superior zen 2 7nm cpu.

Windows 7 master race. They will never take me alive!

Yeah at 2ghz lol that's how hard they will be raped

Yeah, it's exciting. I might pick up a 3800x when I do a mini-itx build. That 65w tdp is gonna be cool as a cucumber in a small form factor build

That's still years away and AMD talked about how they are unifying the console and desktop architectures so performance disparity between platforms will be smaller, next gen consoles will be running AMD CPU/GPUs

CPUs have now more cache than my first pc had regular ram.

Attached: 1558931315453.png (500x500, 215K)

Years? Next year at the absolute latest. I'm being ironic when he says consoles have horrid CPUs when the next gen is actually really exciting with non-shit Bulldozer architecture

Good. I hope Intel gets raped. They can go fuck themselves for unnecessarily altering LGA1151 and making my Kaby Lake mobo incapable of running Coffe Lake CPUs. I want to see those Jews cry.

it's +1% using 9700k as a base user.
learn to read a graph.

I don't trust AMD's benchmarks, Intel 9th gen SC was over the 15% AMD claimed to get between Zen 1 and 2. We will still need to see benchmarks from 3rd parties

They have more L1 than my first, user.

are you guys going to upgrade from Ryzen 1 or are you going to wait and pick one up for cheap when AM5 is a thing?

Hello grandpa.

I'm upgrading from an I5 2400. Can't fuckin wait.

you're in for a treat, I upgraded to Ryzen 1 from my 3570k and even that was substantial.

fucking lmao

I'll probably upgrade on black friday or around christmas and give my current 2700 + gtx 1080 guts to my brother.

>google makes me solve 3 captchas to discourage posting
I see right through your jewish tricks, intelaviv.

Will my MSI B450 motherboard be able to use these? I'm probably not going to upgrade since I already have a fairly new 2600 but it would be nice to know if I can upgrade.

>R5 2600 w/ stable 4ghz all-core
Should I even bother? Or just wait until AM4 is antiquated

>While 15% IPC gain probably put's it near Skylake IPC,
How can this be when its been proven time and time again that the 2000 series Ryzen's are just 3% behind coffee lake on average? If the 15% IPC is true the 3000 series ryzen are gonna be at coffelake level or greater. Let's also not forget the boosts ryzens get with fast RAM.

If the 8700k loses HT in the end yes, maybe 5 years from now regardless, you won't see games take advantage of 6 cores even yet. Especially at higher resolution.

3700x looks sweet.

im using a i3 6100 that i got for free a year back, whats a good upgrade?

Do you wanna buy a new motherboard?

probably 3600x or 3700x.

yeah im fine with that honestly

Looks like I'll get a 3600x if the motherboards aren't out the ass expensive.

upgrading form the last great CPU: i5 2500k
(which will still be used for gaming, just relegated to HTPC duty).

when new flagship GPUs come out I will get one as well (been on rx580 for a couple years. great card but limited to 1080p for high FPS).

Let's see how well Zen 2 OCs when a 100mhz increase from AMD adds 40w

The point...
...your head

That was a low end part, clocked lower than the 9900k housefire, and it outperformed the 9900k with the same number of cores. Zen 2 IPC is better than current-gen Intel IPC, there is no arguing this.
