BOTW

OoT was the state of the art and a fucking bombsehll on the industry in '98. It is the better game and will never be topped. This is partly because Nintendo gave up on trying to make blockbusters like the other companies and focuses on fun gameplay.

THAT SAID, BotW is a great game and huge step in the right direction after the dog vomit that was Skyward Sword.

why does no one else notice that botw zelda has severe fetal alchohol syndrome?

This, OOT was flawless & the most well designed game of all time, only Metroid Prime compares in terms of being a perfectly paced awe-inspiring classic from start to finish

OoT will never be beaten because video game conpanies have forgotten how to make intros. OoT will forever be the horsey game. That chilling ocarina intro melody tansports you into the realm of Hyrule with its hypnotic tune, the mysterious rider gallops across the field at night and until dawn breaks, the peace is broken by a glimpse of the future of a scene so out of context no player could even guess the circumstances it. OoT is a perfect game from the moment you turn it on and until you beat it. BoTW is a fantastic game too, but for different reasons and has mostly become my go to zelda game, replacing OoT.

BOTW's laid down the foundation for future Zelda's, the 2020 BOTW sequel will likely end up being the greatest game of all time

OoT is designed better for its given parameters but both are fun and have value

Interesting find. I can see it.

OoT has the "nostalgia" factor going for it that makes people ignore its glaring flaws and shit game design such as an empty hyrule field, or the fact every path leading somewhere are just linear paths with arbitrary roadblocks that actually prevent you from exploring.

I really hope so. I really like BoTW and felt its weakest points where the amount of too-easy/short shrines and weak npc quests. If they can adjust that and give me a simillar game then Ill be happy.
Otherwise I checked out the botw modding scene recently and theyve come a long way. They can change merchant inventories, some enemy behaviors and more. If my pc could run it well Id love to take a crack at a custom BoTW experience for my tastes.

Seething GameGrumps cuck, it's sad how this picture becomes so accurate now. OOT is literally zoomer filter

This, honestly. OoT gets a pass for a lot of things it shouldn't because it was so groundbreaking for the same little kids that are posting on Yea Forums now.

BotW is easily the better game and it's not even close.

A Link to the Past

That is not true, OoT has insane replay-ability. The game just had everything going. Every single part of it was good. People usually hate water levels. Not in OoT though, it was amazing like everything else.
Brap of the wild on the other hand is skyrim with shittier graphics.

>That is not true, OoT has insane replay-ability

It only has replayability for you because you're blinded by your own rose-tinted nostalgia for it. For the vast majority of people, there's absolutely nothing in the game that makes it worth playing a second time.

BotW arguably does have some degree of replayability because you can go anywhere and do the main quests in any order you want from the start. OoT is absurdly railroaded by comparison and also almost completely bereft of any optional content that would make it worth revisiting, and you can't even give it the "oh well it was good for its time" excuse because there were previous Zelda games that were far more nonlinear in comparison -- particularly the first one.

Fucking cope more, even zoomers who play shit like Skyrim & TLOU know that OOT is the GOAT

I don't see how posting a random list you found online addresses my point. You're acting like a child.

OoT is better, but BotW is a top 5 Zelda game. Only OoT, MM, ALttP, and LA are better.

Easily Breath of the Wild. Better combat, way more experimentation with the various systems in the game, way better exploration that includes more towns, minigames and overworld puzzles to find, better designed puzzles that focus on a plethora of things such as riddles, the environment or physics as opposed to bland "shoot the eye switch" bullshit in older games, more traversal mechanics, actually feels like a living and breathing world with NPCs and wildlife, actually nonlinear, I could go on.

I do believe OOT's pacing and atmosphere has yet to be matched, but BOTW felt like a true adventure.
