Best track coming through.
Best track coming through
That's one of the few tracks I can't picture in my head at all, and I've played the game every day since it came out.
Is it just not in the story mode outside of one or two missions?
where can I find this track?
It barely appeared in the story.
I'm partial to ocean view desu
I also like thunder dome but that might just be because I haven't played it much
>thunder dome
kek, meant thunder deck.
Riders is better because it has Cream the Rabbit as playable.
Checked saucenao for the source on that Cream pic.
Why did the artist delete it?
Go to Exhibition Race and play it there, it's also the first track of Grand Prix 5
My favorite track is Market Street or Doctor's Mine, for their attention to detail and using elements of the original stages in their track layouts, maybe Haunted Castle because it references the Unleashed short
I'd say the new desert, ice, and spagonia themes all have a perfect record with the new tracks. They're all fun.
I wish I could include planet wisp there since I love the latter two tracks, but the first one is boring as fuck. I guess every kart racer needs a Mario Circuit, but wouldn't whale lagoon suffice in that regard?
Whale Lagoon already was the Mario Circuit of the first ASR game, so I guess not.
But I agree that most of the new stages they made are really damn good, it's such a shame there's not more of them. Sonic Mania all over again. Hopefully we get some DLC tracks, preferably mostly new ones, but I wouldn't mind the last few Sonic ones from the other games that aren't in this yet coming back too.
All of the Sonic zones they reference with the paint kits make me itch thinking of the potential for a race track, like Hydrocity, Studiopolis, or Twinkle Park.
I would love to have some of those too. Mostly the Mania stages, Stardust Speedway if they did the time travel gimmick, and a zone of different locations on Angel Island, mixing ones from Adventure and 3. Even a space themed stage, because that's the only major Sonic trope I don't think they actually accounted for. Would love to have both full zones of 3 stages for DLC and some one off stages, maybe even with more paint kits and missions for them too.
Yeah, space has a lot of potential. I'd love a track based off of Final Rush.
I think one great set of three would be Station Square. You could have Speed Highway, Twinkle Park, and cap it off with the flooded city with Perfect Chaos coming at you.
I would too. Maybe have one based on Final Rush, then Egg Hangar and Galactic Parade return too. And I would love a Station Square based zone too, as well as Radical Highway. The DLC potential is so high for this game.
Do you unlock any color pallets from getting all the stars in Adventure mode? So far I know getting the keys unlocks Vinyls but i'm wondering if I just need to play the gatcha to get the rest of the colors i'm missing.
>yfw everybody fucking slams into each other on Bingo Party's intersection
I got the Green Hill one from the mod pods, so I'm assuming that's how. Wish I could just get the Stardust Speedway one already so I can give it to Metal Sonic
yea I got Green Hill but I noticed I was missing exactly 7 colors so I was wondering if there was a star requirement, then again I have all of the stars in Planet Wisp and I don't remember getting a color for that. Plus I also have the Casino Night theme. Maybe i'm just over thinking this and I just need to get keys to get the rest of the Vinyls.
Sky Road is the best track and its music is great i love the giant ring it feels like were flying into the goatse asshole
I don't think you get any unlocks from stars unless there's one for getting all of them, but I can tell you there are unlocks behind beating every race in chapter on hard mode. Doing it in chapter 2 gave me the goalpost sound from the genesis games as a horn. I don't know if that also applies to expert yet.
beat all story missions on expert some are available from mod pods
I'm missing the exact same amount, but I don't seem to have gotten anything with the keys. I also wish I could get the Sandopolis paint kit so I can decorate the Chao Pod to resemble Cream, like I did for Vector with Espio and Charmy
>Sandopolis paint kit
Weird i'm missing that one as well. Here's the full list of the colors i'm missing:
>Music Plant
>Rooftop Run
>Sandopolis
>Stardust Speedway
>Planet Wisp
>Seaside Hill
>Studiopolis
Are you missing this exact list?
Also please ignore Zavok's "I'm comfortable with my sexuality"mobile
whoops I meant "I'm comfortable with my masculinity"mobile
Yeah, exactly those. And they haven't shown up in the gacha machine at all
So maybe my theory of having to get all stars holds some weight. Jesus fuck those ring challenges I still can't platinum 2-2
Reminder.
The Ring Challenges and Daredevil missions are making me feel like a scrub, I remember thinking I was going to get every star in this game before it came out, then it came out and put me in my place
>Like Sonic, Shadow, Knuckles, Big, and Blaze
Feels good
I was thinking about playing Knuckles or Vector before the game came out so I'm happy things turned out as such.
The last 7 colors can only be obtained by beating all of the expert missions on the 7 chapters. Some of the vinyls also require getting all the keys in the chapters.
That's a nice ride for him. I would post mine since I based it on Sky Sanctuary but I want to unlock the Emeralds vinyl for it
Fuck me, guess I better get started.
Ah ok. I already knew about the Vinyls. Can't tell if the expert challenge will be harder or easier than trying to get all stars
It only requires beating one of the mission requirements. You don't need to do perfectly to "beat" a mission on expert so it's pretty easy.
Well it's only the races for expert and you only need the bare minimum to "beat" them, so it's probably not too bad. You can get all the stars on normal and then beat expert for the clear.
I completely disagree with this tier list. Speed and Tech are better than power. Power is only good in time trial.
>All technical characters are shit
>All power characters are good
lolwat
If you're a shitter maybe.
Tech are very good in team races, though.
Not to mention, it's still not as bad as Transformed
>Near the end of World Tour and unlock S class
>Have to do every single mission on the highest difficulty to reach the end
Fuck that
Power has no recovery, and getting hit by items is an inevitability in online play. In Time Trial they can squeeze out a couple of milliseconds over the other characters if you play perfectly, which is nice and all, but in a race that doesn't mean shit.
Everyone has a use in team race really. Also items make sure no one has a free win.
That's true. I usually go for speed though
So what ended up being the difference between Acceleration and Defense? because as I understood it from Mario Kart Acceleration was how long it takes from being being hit.
Power characters get fucking massive defense and don't spin out when they get hit. The low acceleration balances out a lot more than you give it credit for, and the speed difference is incredibly noticable. You blast off the starting line way faster than everyone else and with good defensive item usage you can maintain a lead very easily. You should probably play power characters more because it sounds like you're making a lot of assumptions.
Defense is how long items knock you out for and acceleration is how long it takes to reach top speed with no boost.
Turbine loop is actually based and redpilled. Dont know why people hate it. The way that hologram moves is kino
I like it better than the original honestly.
But all the reused stages in this game except maybe Ocean View are superior to their All Stars Racing counterparts, visually and gameplay wise
why are Rouge and Tails specifically so low?
I never got to play as AGES.
I'll have to download a 100% save file some time.
Very low boost and speed stats.
AGES is pretty good, I didn't get him until a few months ago on the lead up to this game myself, and after I did I said "fuck the rest."
Rouge has one of the highest speed stats among techs, tied with Chao.
Chao also has good boost for a tech.
Cream is coming back soon.
Outside of Time Trials, is boost really that big of a deal? I personally feel it does nothing.
Why are you not drifting at all times?
What do you mean "beat". Do you mean just complete or win in first place as a team? The xbox one version has achievement tracking so when you do a race on hard, you can see the percent get closer for the achievement to unlock
A lot of focus is put on boosting in these games, so I would say so. Haven't done Time Trials yet though, I want to make sure I get a bunch of the customization out of the way first so I have the best combos. I have a setup for Sonic that resembles the Speed Star from the last game, and it seems pretty fast so I might go ahead and start doing them
because you gotta let your partners Skimboost off you.
This dose feels weird, but thanks doc anyway
The entire race should be you chaining level 3 drifts together.
Presumably you're drifting relatively straight and not going all over the road.
If they can't follow your line that's on them.
Say the Babylon Rogues get into TSR as DLC. For their Ultimate themes, which character gets which Riders theme?
>Sonic Speed Riders
>Ungravity
>Free
And almost no boost. Boost is more important for top speed than the speed stat is. Rouge can hang in a straightaway with no items only hitting the gas, but as soon as drifting and boost pads and items come into play she falls behind dramatically.
One should get Catch Me if You Can instead of Sonic Speed Riders. Maybe Jet.
Wave would get Free, and Storm could have Un-gravitify
If you finish any one objective in a mission, it counts as you passing it. Expert doesn't require you to get all stars in every mission, it only requires that you need to beat each mission in expert, which means you only need to do the bare minimum and complete one objective in each mission.
>The last 7 colors can only be obtained by beating all of the expert missions on the 7 chapters.
Fuck me. You're joking.
Sounds to me like you only activate your ultimate once per race.
>Same studio gave you S class at the tail end of the campaign and made you replay every single mission on Expert in the previous game just so you get a congratulatory screen with text on it as well as the last two characters and a mod
I highly doubt they're joking
I see i see. Well im glad for that at least, i hope to have it done tomorrow then since each chapter just has a few races. I must say getting all the achievements in this one was much easier than transformed. Im thankful theres no yokozuna this time around. That was terrible
At least this one is just colors and is way more forgiving because it's not replay every mission and do them all perfectly.
You just have to get 1st place, you don't have to get stars.
>Power characters [...] don't spin out when they get hit
Yes they do. Defense only lowers the stun animation after the spin. Power characters still have the same initial hit animation as everyone else.
Is following someone's drift really that tall of an order for you?
>character literally no one wanted to return in ANY game is top tier
what a shit show
Tips on beating expert races then? The grand prixs are going to be cancer, since you have to do good on 4 consecutive races
That ain't Haunted Castle
That's true.
I just hope there's nothing locked behind getting all stars, because I'm not going to bother when I can barely get a star on stuff like Daredevil and Ring Challenges.
My advice is to make speed and boost stats your priority when customizing your cars, but I haven't done it yet, so I could be wrong
Based and, dare I say, redpilled. But both stages are damn good. I give Haunted Castle the win because I was disappointed that it didn't have the ghosts from Night of the Werehog only for them to still reference it. I think most of the stages near the end of the game's track list are really good as a whole, though.
Man I love that track so much. It's like a combination of Graveyard Gig and Galactic Parade.
Gonna start a PC lobby soon, anyone want in?
Add RickDanto
The green slime in the middle of the track reminded me of Sewer Scrapes
It might be easier to just go into team ranked and ask everyone to join. It's currently empty anyway.
That's genuinely depressing
>Sky Road
>Get 400 rings in a single drift
Goddamn I suck at this. I might never get that chapter's Vinyl
As soon as you do the first jump, don't let go of your drift and make sure to get every ring in the lines and I'm pretty sure you'll have it before the second jump.
Not me, but what about your other people. Most notably AIs, because most of the races are padded out with bots.
Honestly the Expert races have been a lot easier than I thought they'd be. A piece of advice is to remember that you do have mods you can use to give yourself an advantage like Increased Ultimate Charge. Also the enemy teams will wait until the final lap to use their ultimates or at least wait until you use your Ultimate to catch you unaware.
The ai does fine in my races. The only thing to really be careful of is not driving in offroad as a tech type. The AI is too stupid to realize it shouldn't follow you. Most of the ult charge is just from spamming the share item button anyway.
And, once again, if they're real people and somehow having trouble following you that's on them. It isn't hard at all.
Also make sure your a technique character for that little ring magnet. Its not much but it does help. None of these challenges are as hard as transformeds and thats a good thing
The Grand Prixes in the chapters should honestly have just been playing the 3 acts of the zones from start to finish. The first game had some GP missions but had them only be 3 stages, and each one was the same location/franchise since that game had 3 stages for most of the locations in it
>None of these challenges are as hard as transformeds
Getting platinum in the daredevil challenges is harder than anything in Transformed by far.
I just got all stars and keys. The hardest achievment for me is wisp you were here, you need the drill and to pass 6 people with it. im always in the front so i can never get it
This, I thought at first that they were going to be reskinned Checkpoint missions and I was very, very wrong
They're far worse
I found the trick to easy platinum in daredevil is to do a super quick twitch drift as you go into the red loop. You don't go into a full drift but it still counts it as a drift bonus.
Do you have all the achievements? How did you get speed painter?
See:
I've been doing pretty well with Rouge so far.
Im at 46/51. But i also just learned you get that by beating the race missions on expert
Some of the announcer lines crack me up.
>Bad day to be an Egg Pawn!
>Any closer and you'll be part of the pole!
