Civ 6 has much more city planning, and actually encourages Wide play, unlike Civ 5 that encourages you to just build 4 cities and sit on your ass till you win the game.
Maximizing tile yields is also really fun in Civ 6, with all the different ways to increase tile yields.
The only thing that Civ 5 has over Civ 6 is more unit types, and Venice.
