surprised to say that I have it
I've played less than 10% of them

>trashgobbler

I have that badge and I don't think it's impressive at all. I have 725 games but not from spending lots of money — I buy indie bundles because I like silly indie games so I end up with tons of cheap crap — and even if I did spend lots of money to exceed 500 games, it still wouldn't be impressive; it would just make me a person who spends lots of money on things.

pic unrelated

This is what I get when I sort my badges by rarity.

I was surprised, but I guess it makes sense. Of course none of my event badges would be most rare; far more people participate in each store-wide event than craft a badge for any individual game.

I doubt any of these are actually impressive, but moreso than the level 1 badges being posted

>paying money to put jpgs on your profile
big cringe

Can you get that badge today? Probably not...
Also, Are there more secret badges like this?

my rarest badge is the level 5 grim fandango one

I'm not a thief, sorry.

It's not just about the jpgs, it's potentially profitable over time. When it's cheap enough, adding the badges to your account can be worth it because every single game you own has you eligible to win the free "random packs of cards" that drop for each game randomly, and the XP you get from crafting the badges boosts your level, with every 10 levels coming with a flat +20% boost to how often you get those drop rewards.

I'll admit I've spent about $140 on leveling up and getting badges through Steam, but due to that I get generally 2 to 4 card pack drops a day, averaging maybe $.30 in value after the sales fees due to most drops being lower value. Over the few years since I've bought those packs, the free card packs I've gotten have added the majority of the money I originally spent right back into my account. In 10 years, assuming the cards keep coming (and they should as Valve makes millions off of them right now) they'll have paid for themselves several times over with profit, and I get to keep the jpgs and other minor benefits.

You wouldn't download a CAR would you? WOULD YOU??!!

Just try and stop me nigga
