>this came out in 1996
This came out in 1996
So?
The best game for it, Star Fox 64, came out in 1997.
I'm getting one in a couple days, Mischief Makers, Jet force Gemini, and Snowboard Kids are on their way.
Any other gems I should get?
an odd way of spelling perfect dark, which actually came out in 2000
an odd way of spelling WWF No Mercy which came out the same year
just get a flash cart and have every game
I was 10 in '96 and even then i knew that nintendo was gay lmfao
Shit tier console, the PlayStation was leagues better
/PS1/ thread anyone?
Same year as WWF No Mercy? Think, user!
and it shows
>flickering textures
>cartridges
>that closeted gay kid that called everything gay
>realizing you just called yourself gay
lmfao
Enjoy your unplayable scratched disks
i love the little art on the cartridges. mario being chased by a fire breathing browser, donkey kong on a yellow cartridge, mario's thumbs up on the minikart. good times.
>32 bit
>3d on a console that was never designed for it
Enjoy your 3-handed unusable controller. Be sure not to rotate the analog stick too hard
Not him, but this is my copy of RE2 that is 20 years old. And he is wrong too, carts are also fine, my copy of RE2 on N64 is also a testiment to that.
>copy
thats your license to play it
>he can't figure out how to hold the controller
>he doesn't know how easy sticks are to replace
Kek. PS1fags mad. Remember that time you had to buy a whole new controller just to play 3D games?
sure hope capcom ever decide to revoke it user, that would probably suck hm?
>he doesn't know how easy sticks are to replace
user thats not a great selling point
completely straight here, user
>buying a console at launch
>he thinks i was old enough to remember the 90s
Remember that time Nintendo got sued because kids skinned themselves playing Racist Italian Stereotype Party?
>anime
Sure buddy
Not how physical games work, dumbass. Those are copies of the game that you actually own that function as both the proof of purchase and the game itself which can never be taken away from you or deleted. Only digitalfags get licenses and intangible files.
>trip and drop my 64 on concrete after coming home from playing with my friend
>loud ass smack and it bounced a bit too
>come home worried sick that I broke my only console
>worked like nothing had happened
Thanks OP. Gonna dig it out and try pokemon stadium again.
>still have my n64 from childhood
>the games are still fun to this day
How the fuck did they do it?
You had better let us know if she still works.
Those nostalgia glasses are a little too tight.
straight as an arrow
PS1 was most definitely designed for 3D. It's Saturn, Jaguar and the 3DO that were barely useable for 3D games.
I dunno man, some games aged like shit, but a good chunk of them are still pretty playable.
Not exactly, but claiming that the stick on the N64 is some ireedeemable flaw is ridiculous given that it's a really easy fix for anybody with a brain.
No, I don't remember when Nintendo sued. I remember them giving out free gloves to those who complained about blisters after improperly using the stick.
>anime
>feet
It’s only a matter of time
>the PlayStation was leagues better
Remember that time when SONY hastily resigned the control pad for their console IN THE MIDDLE OF ITS FUCKING LIFESPAN because Nintendo fundamentally changed gaming forever with the N64?
they didnt even have analogue sticks on it at first they clearly never planned on it needing to have 3d games
how the fuck does nintendo do it?
the gamecube was near indestructible
Ahhh the famous Dualshock edition games kek
Most games were fine without analog sticks. Usually there would be an alternative to rotate the camera with the shoulder buttons. It wasn't until FPS games came along that analog sticks became a must, and it wasn't until Alien Resurrection in 2000 that the use of analog sticks that we know today was implemented.
too bad nintendo didn't do the same. the n64 controller was a piece of shit.
>Around 90 complaints were received by New York's attorney general's office and Nintendo of America eventually agreed to a settlement, which included providing gloves for anyone who had hurt their hand(s) while playing the game and paying the state's $75,000 legal fees.
Remember the time NINTENDO partnered with Sony to create a video game console but backed out at the last second and robbed Sony of a lot of money, influencing Sony to enter the video game market and outsell Nintendo every generation?
Same as Lego. They use quality plastics unlike all the rest of the cheap chink shit everyone's used to.
i wonder how badly that guy kicks himself every time he plays a shooter on a console
there's nothing gay about boy feet
>OP came out in 2006
Whoa...
Last time I checked Nintendo have sold more consoles than Sony and are far more acclaimed.
they don't do it anymore, that's for sure. the switch is a flimsy piece of shit. the 3ds was also known for its shitty build quality.
>every generation
The Wii says hello.
The switch does too.
vgchartz.com
Misread your previous post. Thought you said Nintendo was the one suing. Either way, they shook it off like it was no big deal.
>the switch is a flimsy piece of shit
it's no gamecube but it won't break if you drop it
"BROKEN ARROW, BROKEN ARROW!"
In total, no doubt Nintendo's sold more consoles. They have almost double the amount of hardware Sony does. The handheld market's also always been dominated by Nintendo ever since the Game Boy came out 30 years ago.
So did I
Rekted
it's still a huge step down from the nintendium days, back when their consoles were still made in japan instead of china.
Play Fighter's Destiny, kudasai!
neat!
>tfw we will never go back to games being sold physical only and all the positives that come with that
In total, yes. In recent years, hell no.
Gamecube, Wii U and 2DS say hi back
>switch
>34 million sales
PS4 has sold nearly 100 million, it doesn't even compare
>splitscreen Vigilante 8 with the bros
Those were the days.
Aero Gauge, Amazing soundtrack, super fast racing.
overrated console only americans bought
You're also comparing 2 years to 5.5 years
>Loading times
>had to resort to using 2DS
lol
Next you're gonna say "t-the PSP outsold the Micro so it was better!"
Even when you add in the Wii U, Nintendo barely sells 50 million consoles. PS5 will sell more than the switch, guaranteed
>inferior multiplats
>caring about handhelds
I only used it as an example of the stupid ass business decisions shitendo makes. Those stopped being relevant in 2007
The PSP is better than Micro. What's your point? Micro is cute and everything, but it's the shittiest iteration of that console.
>PS5 will sell more than the switch
PS5 is going to be another PS3 with how things are going
>Those stopped being relevant in 2007
That's just you being a salty snoy
>PS5 is going to be another PS3
You mean the console that pioneered blu-rays, changed the way we think about single player, and outsold the 360? This is a bad thing?
>That's just you being a salty snoy
Cope harder, nobody above the age of 10 plays mobile games, either on nintendo toys or smartphones
>switch
>34 million sales
>PS4 has sold nearly 100 million, it doesn't even compare
PS4 is 8th gen, Switch is 9th gen
PS4 has been tracking behind the Wii and PS2 for years now
>Lost Sony $4 billion
>Movie-games
Gonna be a PSYIKES from me.
>outsold the 360
you mean when the generation was already over?
don't pretend like the PS3 wasn't dominated by the wii and 360
>lol cope
sorry, who pushed sony out of making handhelds again?
>nobody above the age of 10 plays mobile games
The majority of mobile game players are adult men. Try again.
Because less people are playing games in general. switch is more like 8.5, you know they'll probably make a new one when the new PlayStation and Xbox comes out and their sales plummet
>muh movie-games
They keep making bank so maybe it's you that's the problem.
Xbox started strong but limped to the finish. We all agree the Wii won.
>sorry, who pushed sony out of making handhelds again?
Apple and Samsung
No they aren't. thank u, next
>Popular = Good
Expected from a Snoy sucker
Early 3D was really amazing. I feel like today we're always ready for the next gen because the current one uses bullshot trailers showing a level of detail we won't have for a few more years.
>why doesn't anyone play the games i like? why do they keep playing games i don't like?
>it's society that's to blame
Grow up, nincel
>BUT N-NINTY
keep sucking up censorship and diversity
If you want to escape censorship and progressivism, your only option at this point is to go innawoods. The left controls everything, nothing has been left unscathed.
It"s one of the best, vut don't forget tjat Super Mario 64,Ocarina of time & Smash came out on this console.
>found my n64 the other day after lost it for 15 years
>even still had my childhood copy of Pokemon Silver in the transfer pack
>the save file was dead and the SM64 and Smash are missing
fuck
yeah, and this came out in 2019
*unzips pants*
like clockwork
>little brother's friend always brings this over
>talks all kinds of trash on other fighting games and acts like this is the holy grail
>finally play this piece of shit game and wreck him
>he starts telling me I'm using a cheap character or something similar
>gets so salty that when he stays over once he tries to tell my family, at the dinner table, that Dead or Alive 1 (I had for PS1) was a porno game
No matter what I will always associate this game with that retarded faggot kid. I even remember him trying to brag about putting his dick in a vacuum cleaner hose once
Dilationstation 4 had a roughly 3 1/2 year head start and has sold 100 mil meanwhile the switch on its second year has already sold a 3rd of what the PS4's managed to do in 5 1/2. It hasn't outsold it in raw numbers, no, but its outselling it in terms of the pace its selling at. You've managed to completely ignore my link highlighting this fact.
I hate being a fence-sitter but I loved that whole gen and the one after it. The moment Sega dropped out of hardware felt like the end of an era.
Because it's irrelevant in the grand scheme of things. Like I said, when the new Playstation and Xbox come out, switch sales figures will plummet, and Nintendo will make a new console. They should honestly just become a third-party developer like Sega
Which brought about Ape Escape, so I'm ok with it.
>b-but the NEXT one will be good! You'll see!
Sure faggot.
I never loved SEGA hardware. They always had dope games, but their controllers were fucked. I got a genesis right here and never play it because of how mushy the buttons are. Also whoever decided to put the cord there on the Dreamcast controller should have been shot by a cannon. Like what the fuck were they thinking?
>They should honestly just become a third-party developer
Nintendo almost never loses money
Sin and Punishment was better
this was pretty much my reaction when I got N64 for christmas
The DC cord isn't that bad, I mean the notch in the top is there so that more or less nullifies the problem. The one gripe I have with the DC controller is that the stick didn't have a rubber grip. It was fine for what it was but the hard plastic kinda sucks compared to the rubber capped sticks of today.
Yeah the last four were good, so the fifth one will probably be good too. Only good Nintendo consoles were the SNES, the GBA, and the Wii.
HAHAHAHAHAHAHA
kotaku.com
I liked the Saturn pad for fighting games and the 3D controller felt nice with NiGHTS, etc. but I agree on the DC controller. I have no idea how my friends used it for fighting games. I had to buy a green goblin fightstick and ascii pad back in the day since the DC d-pad was such shit.
>tfw 8 years old playing mario kart and starfox
>The best game for it, Star Fox 64
yea, nah. It was fun, but not as fun as this.
>switch is 9th gen
>with technology from the 7th gen
Dark Souls 64 was released in 99
Damn you're right, I don't know how I forgot about the little notch in the back. Looks like I need a new battery for the VMU.
I don't think I ever held a saturn controller. Also why the fuck is the DC so goddamn loud?
Give me one (1) reason games shouldn’t come on SD cartridges or something similar.
Child = soulless
Manufacturing cost.
Hold the fuck up nigger
It was rechargeable
Had a aux port
Actually fit in your pocket
50$ new
The Gameboy Mirco was a ducking Chad console it just came out late as fuck
Digital is easier and is more environmentally friendly
The only times Nintendo has lost money was 2011, 2012, 2014 and 2016 and it wasn't a lot
Every other year has been profitable since 2008
I'm sure the weight has a lot to do with it.
Literally the worst 'mainstream' console ever made.
2015 isn’t 7th gen
Any game with the Rare logo, SM64, Pokemon Stadium 2, Starfox, Yoshis Story, Mario Party 2&3,
>nigger
>post not read and opinion discarded
Let's finally bring up an ancient debate as old as time itself: Which was the more durable material, Nintendium or Nokium? Both could probably survive even the most retarded scenarios at peak production considering a game boy survived a fucking bomb blast.
SM64 OOT and Mario Kart could carry an entire generation I didn’t think it was possible but I always go back to those three
So literally just the WiiU lifespan?
And even they made a profit for a couple of years
That's nearly half a decade of losing money, certainly a stretch from "never losing money"
Childish namecalling come from defenders of a children's toy. Really makes you think.
Kind of hard to say considering that nobody really uses old Nokias and people still play old Nintendo consoles. I think probably Nintendo at least pre WiiU.
Go back you thin skin nigger monkey
based
I remember playing a certain mode in this game where you were able to collect like 10+ nukes and throw them all out. Eventually the shockwave turns blue.
Funny way of spelling Banjo Tooie.
Nice projection
>It doesn’t matter PS5 will rule all you’ll see!
Get a grab faglord
The Dreamcast VMU not only eats batteries but it doesn't hold shit for saves. I'd get some batteries for the novelty of a few mini-games, but definitely invest in one of those 4x multi-page cards if you don't want to constantly fight for save space.
No idea why the DC is so loud. My '99 launch model sounded like a cyborg duck getting fucked, my used replacement after that did as well and the one I still have new in box that I tested recently sounds like shit. Also, Saturn pad was pretty nice for fighting games.
they lost 2.14b in total of all that
they made it all back and more in 2017 alone
God, you can't even fucking read, can you? I didn't say PS5 is gonna rule you all, I said Nintendo made a bad business decision by releasing a console halfway through the current generation, because when the new Playstation AND XBOX come out, their sales figures are going to drop due to the nature of the consumer market.
This was way better than then N64, too bad I chose the Saturn instead
Okay? The whole argument was that you said they never lose money.
My PS1 in 1997, the unique smell of the console I still remember it
Key word almost and there's no sight of them losing anything in the near future so literally no reason to go third party
>feelsbadman
Imagine if Sega didn't go full retard with stuff like the Saturn and 32X, they might still be making consoles today
Even almost doesn't really fit when you lost money 4 out of the last 9 years, and they should still go third party because their consoles are fucking trash and miles behind the current generation
>they should still go third party
yes, i'm sure they should listen to you with your excellent business knowledge of "this shit sucks bro"
Kek.
>I personally didn't like anything but these consoles so everything else was bad
>the console that doesn't exist yet having any bearing on the here and now, where Nintendo is outpacing both competitors and will somehow
The absolute state of (You)
Look buddy, not only did I read "What They Teach You In Harvard Business School", I also read "What They Don't Teach You In Harvard Business School", so I know what I'm talking about, m'kay?
>I personally liked it so it was good
They were bad. NES only succeeded because Nintendo had a monopoly, N64 was trash, Gamecube and Wii U were commercial failures.
>the console that doesn't exist yet having any bearing on the here and now
t. brainlet who only lives for the right now and can't plan for anything past 2 weeks
But Super Mario 64 came out in 96.
I've never even seen a Saturn in person, but it's on my list of shit I need to get for my collection. From what I understand there are 2 saturn controllers, the standard one and the "3D" one. Think the difference between a standard PS1 controller and the dualshock. The one meant for 3D games like NiGHTS is more or less a fusion between the dreamcast and genesis controllers in terms of design. I don't know if the button quality leans more toward Dreamcast or Genesis though. The dreamcast is loud because of a single part in it, and it's the laser. Specifically whenever the console needs to reposition it. If there's a loud beep when booting it up though it's your VMU. It needs a new battery.
I prefer N64 but the pad was huge crap
I'm not saying that they were good because I liked them. The consoles were all solid with the only real falter I'd say being the Wii U. The NES didn't do good because Nintendo had a monopoly. It did good because it was good. The western market was completely fucked and the NES fixed it. "The N64 was shit" is a far cry from an actual argument and it only proves my point that you think they failed because you didn't like them. In reality the N64 revolutionized 3D gaming and has set foundation that games are still built on to this day. The only reason the GameCube trailed behind was because of the other two consoles opting to be multimedia centers instead of pure game consoles. The Wii U is the only one I'll concede was a poor console during its lifetime.
It's just a snes controller with three grips though. The only thing is that it looks weird.
