Retarded faggot that you are, you've missed the entire point. Part of the charm of the original Gamecube game stems from the atmosphere of being in a haunted house. That means low light, with ghosts popping out at you. It also means when you "clear" a room, you're given the reward of the lights going back on.

Here, the lights are already on. Bad atmosphere. Bad sense of accomplishment when the room is cleared and the lights get slightly brighter.

It's the same reason the first two Paper Marios are liked, user. They're stylistically and aesthetically very "un-Mario," and making kiddy things serious was very popular at the turn of the 00s (see Sonic.) For people like Josh who only ever play Nintendo games and don't want to be seen as children, they want more "maturity" and "grittiness" in their bing bong wahoo. Miyamoto thankfully saw the writing that was on the wall and after Super Paper Mario told them to stop that shit, and I'm glad he did. The franchise would have become another Sonic in terms of story, it was already drowning in donut steel OCs from the first three games and fans did and still do beg for more.

I have no idea why this game needed a sequel and a remake. The story in the original game was wrapped up as well as it could possibly be. I agree with some of the posters in this thread that the original was never meant to be scary, but the original had an atmosphere that i have a hard time explaining but thouroughly enjoyed. The 3ds remake was stupid because it lacked what the original had which was all the neat lighting and particle effects. And it looks like LM3 will be like the 2nd game where everything is lit up and looks like shit. The original LM was more of a tech demo for the gamecube and nothing more, and what really pisses me off is a game that actually makes more sense/warranting a remake gets no attention whatsoever, mario sunshine. A game with actual platforming and gameplay variety. A game like luigis mansion is meant to be played once. Its not a bad game but nintendo fans are autistic and want a sequel to everything even if it doesnt make sense.

Portable games have to be bright so you can see them in ambient sunlight or with low backlight power, and the textures have to be simple so objects are readable on a small screen. This isn't a "mistake".

I suppose nintendo could do a second graphical pass for docked mode only, but that's an inefficient use of development resources that maybe only something like 5% of users would give a shit.
