He's a really cool character but at the same time I wish he was an actual threat, which no villain in Sonic ever really is because you can't have furry animals dying in a kid's game. If he were actually as fast as Sonic and included both short and long range weapons, Sonic would be absolutely fucked. So he's fast, but he's also useless.

See here's the thing about Sonic. During gameplay he can actually die, so they can do whatever they want with attacks, villains, etc. and it works, it's fun. But during cutscenes, Sonic and his friends obviously can't die, so you never actually get to see anything cool story wise. Remember in Unleashed when Eggman actually caught Sonic in the opening video? What did he end up doing, again? Oh, right, just launching him into space and turning him into a werewolf. Like wtf, it's constantly like masturbation without the payoff watching these two fight each other.
