Its a fucking salt factory of a combat system.

I like Mordhau and MnB but I really wish there were multiplayer melee games that DIDNT use this combat system, there has got to be another way to make a game like this without directional combat, because it always boils down to there being some people who learn the busted mechanics and exploit them, and then everyone who isnt using these same exploits gets dunked hard and quits, leaving a tiny community to populate a dozen servers. Its not a high skill ceiling, its a matter of learning what is broken and sticking to it. Learn to drag in Mordhau and use a 2 handed weapon and bind horizontal swing to a key, the more people do this quicker it will die, but you wont be ass blasted when you keep losing.

Are hitboxes actually that precise that you can hit someone through their raised shield or was he preparing an attack? I still have trouble judging enemy hitboxes, some shit will get blocked no matter where the the shield or weapon is, yet sometimes I get chopped even though my parry timing was just right

The hitboxes are pretty fucking tight tough, weapon clashes are one of the coolest things that can happen and only work because the weapons themselves also have pretty excellent collision with eachother.

I rarely die or get a kill and go "yeah nah that shoudln't have happened" and that's pretty impressive for this kind of game.

I haven't played Chivalry, and my experience with M&B was pure singleplayer, but I'm 30 hours into Mordhau and I haven't seen anything I'd consider toxic.

fashion, less fall damage and yeah, helps me get my medic bag to the front faster, but i do have a level 2 all over version with the flat top helm for when the fighting gets serious

I had a class I kinda randomly thought of and it was a lot of fun. Take two regular axes, and when someone is injured whip your one axe at him, if you miss they almost always go in for a kill, but you have another. Also trying the Targe shield out, it seems okay.

Also I think a regular axe does more damage when thrown... maybe ?

If you got good aim with them, even the throwing knives do decent damage, especially useful on someone retreating into their team.

I think the throwing axe does more, sadly. if you want to whip shit at people use a throwing weapon. Javelins are apparently coming in future which is nice.

How does Mordhau compare to Mountain Blade?

I have thousands of hours in the latter and am wondering how similar Mordhau is. I never got along with Chivalry (despite playing M&B in first person). Is it worth it or should I just wait for Bannerlord.

Seconding this question. I have a ton of hours in M&B multiplayer but I hated chivalry. Wondering if Mordhau is worth looking into.

Honestly, it's hard to top the mechanics that are in Warbands combat. The way all armors can stop/deflect different stuff with matching audio. The way weapons like polearms can be at a disadvantage when fighting nose to nose, and you also get an audio queue.

I really wish Mordhau had at least the polearm thing, because getting stabbed by a longspear in it's long-range grip while you're facehugging the guy is genuinely stupid.

I like M&B and never was fan of the "high end" play in Chiv like turning the fuck around and looking into the sky to kill people, so I played it more like people did at the start.

Mordhau is great, it has better and more in-depth mechanics then Chiv, while being a bit faster and a bit less janky then old-but-gold Warband.

why chivalry get so much hate online? I observed this on Yea Forums and over websites especially at mordhau release. I don't get it. The game is the best & most original multiplayer experience i had in last decade. Even arcane magic warfare was so much dumb fun and it is a shame that it died too early. It wasn't a worthy sequel but it was a great game on its own.
I have 150 hours on it on steam and probably around an other 200 on cracked server when they were a thing and i only had four or five times when i faced someone that was specifically toxic & disrespectful against me .This is much less than what you will encounter in one match of dota 2.

The game needs voice chat so you can easily shame the people who do this shit and make it easier to kick them.

There also needs to be team damage/kill trackers on a score board so your team and verify when you call to ban someone for being a team killing shitter. There should also be a RO2 style instaban if you get too many tks, and a chat based forgiveness system as well. These problems have been solved by other games.
