that was the best twist in the series. it truly shocked me. i liked how earlier in the case, you broke his locks and found out his "secret" and you felt like you found out everything there was about him.

That was a good twist, but then the culprit of the case was the most obvious, boring possibility that it still made case feel a little dry.

The culprit wasn’t the focus of the case
It was how much control they had over everything to fucking it up. They technically had a sound alibi, even when you reveal Amara, especially when she gets fucking shot

AA5 might be mediocre, but the last case was all around amazing.

The premise is good, but i feel that the first game did the killing game setting the best (finding out why somebody psychologically broke down to commit murder was my favorite aspect and the first game does it right), and the sequels bog it down with worse pacing, worse atmosphere, more wackier characters, shittier mini games, and forced motives. The series is divisive, so not everyone is going to like the same game the same way so I feel that if you like murder mystery games, you should still play all of them as they all offer something a little different.

Not that it’s a bad thing, but this series is full of tropes. If you don’t like em, you probably won’t like much of the series at all.

I love AA from 1-4, but DD is just... Meh (DLC aside). Couldn't bother finishing SoJ as well. Case 3 was just dragging for too long and things weren't getting interesting. Maybe I will come back to it at some point.

That's what they usually do for the first and second cases. Ace Attorney is typically more of how-dunnit than who-dunnit anyways.

They have done that in almost every case 1 and case 2.

AA4's second culprit was a complete shock to me, and I don't think they gave away the first case's killer too early either. Spirit of Justice also didn't reveal the identity of the killer in the opening of the 2nd case. What about 3-2?

I really love these games. I've played the first three games, Apollo Justice and the first Edgeworth game. The problem I have with them is that barely remember anything that has happened in them. I'm not sure if I should buy them all on iPad and play them again, or just continue from where I left.

Mimi Miney didn't deserve all the shit she went through, and in the end it was Morgan who truly convinced her to plot against the doctor.

I've only played the first three, if you've played the crossover the twist at the end of that was very much a Layton twist and those are the kinds of story twists the series do. If you're fine with that and like puzzles I'm sure you'll have a fun time.
