I think the issue is that the that the animation cycle consists of too many evenly distributed frames. You get to see every part of the 3D model's motion, instead of 2 dozen frames creating the effect of motion.

Eh, you have targets where everything is the same except one. Older PCs, PS4, and Xbone are all roughly equivalent. Maybe somewhat weaker in some respects technically but not a big deal for this game. Also they all use x86, all the most basic instruction stuff is easily portable.

Switch is the odd one out. That was Nintendo's choice, and it has its advantages, but disadvantages too.

Nah, I supported it because I want a new portable system. And I picked the Switch for this game because I like my metroidvanias on handhelds, and wanted to enjoy them the same exact way as the GBA and DS Castlevanias.
