It would help anyone with a better recovery than him (i.e. 95% of the cast) more than it would help him. Edgehogging would just make the top tiers better and the bottom tiers worse. It would also further discourage offstage play because if you go deep enough that you have to go back to the ledge and miss your opponent, they'll likely make it to the ledge first and you'll get fucked

You also have to consider the fact that, unlike Melee, this game has many recoveries that don't have hitboxes, which means it would be trivially easy to camp the ledge even after your invincibility expires to gimp them if they're knocked far enough that they can't land on the stage.

There's no argument for edgehogging except "Melee has it and Melee =good"
