I want to get into the Atelier series, and i heard mixed things about Atelier Sophie specifically. Some say its the best of them all, and some say its the worst so im asking to clarify. I just want to play the comfiest game Atelier possible.

Also, a lot of people hate sophie because it was a more "casual" atelier game, it eased up on a lot of the more annoying aspects of other games like resource and storage management, and everything was pretty simple to get to and manage. In other games you can't just grab everything you find on the floor like you can in sophie.

So apparently Lulua wasn't made by the main team. Instead it was made by the Blue Relfection team.
The main team was making the new trilogy game instead.

Disappointing. It doesn't have the charm of previous Arland games, feels more like they just wanted to milk it rather than do a proper sequel, and doesn't have the "Everyone is here!" feeling of Meruru.

I had a great time with sophie and idk why people complain about it. Good music, fun combat, mechanics and characters, and pretty much every time you went to town there would be something new happening, usually cutscenes to either introduce new characters or advance their subplots. Meanwhile when I tried to play Totori it was a fucking snoozefest, right out of the gate all you can is repeat the same quests over and over again and barely anything happens
