The characters within the game don't understand how multiverses work. From within, to them, it would appear they are just going back in time. Her explanation was that time is gathered by the observers all over the world and stored in spheres. If the sphere is destroyed, that time is erased. When MC breaks the sphere at the end of Act II, a piece is left remaining and some people have vague memories of events that were erased like the lady from Arboria who lost her baby. This is enough to prove that the spheres represent time rather than it working like a multiverse.

The combat system is fine as is, it just needed higher stakes to warrant its thought and use.

the combat system of a jrpg is just one facet of it's presentation. People who play jrpgs, for better or worse, enjoy the little things like the battle animations, idle animations, dress up costumes, art style, etc etc. All the little things that add up to make the game have personality.
Turn based combat gives time for those uniquely videogame world building aspects time to bleed through into the player's mind. That doesn't even go into the actual simple chess like structure having limited moves but near infinite (in practice) complexity for how to do accomplish tasks. Its on the easy side on the default setting but that is fine because it lets you stay comfortable while roaming the world, getting some quality time in with it. When you get to a boss it definitely "feels" like a boss and is appropriately challenging, even with a simple ruleset.

They see it from a different angle than you see it from, at the conceptual level.

My meta theory is that the Luminary is training to be the next God. He saved reality, then went to see what a "perfected" reality was like and saved that one too. He is powerful enough to move thru the multiverse and can save a reality from penultimate evil and has knowledge of the gulf between what could be and what is. He even somewhat mentored a group and then left them to their own devices when he knew they were strong enough to handle anything without his help, creating heroes in his absence.
He is set up to be the perfect candidate.

DQ is a gambling simulator. In combat you are just gambling how much resource points (hp, mp, items) a given combat will take from you. So the minigame becomes optimizing random battles to syphon the least amount of resources, allowing longer forays out from town before you have to warp (hopefully warp) back to town. There was a perfect beauty and simplicity to achieving it and learning new humps of it as you encountered new enemies and types.

DQ11 ruins the entire Golden Formula.
It allowed you to camp and do literally everything there. No more going back to town and factoring that go out come back system into your risk.
It replenished mp on level up. Free resets to that go out come back formula (that doesn't exist anymore anyway). Also allowed magic dmg spam like never before. Small add is boomerangs and whips come too early so you have mass attack spam at like level 8.
Combat on the whole is too simple so the overall risk is gone unless you play draconian from the start.

DQ 'math' in every category was an autist's wet dream of progression humps, jumps, and plateaus. But DQ messed up simple things that had wide reverbs on all the systems. It sort of sucked in hindsight.

His father invents the Chivalrous Code. The only aspects they cover in the game are the same as the martial aspects of our Chivalrous Code, so we can assume it is all the same as evidence about other aspects mirror it as well.
Part of that is how a man acts, and part of how that act is portrayed, or why, is because it is a real depiction of the person you are with the idea that the chivalrous man is a pious man that has Providence. An innate quality he shows the world.

I didn't rush for it. I found out the enemies have a larger chance to hit people on the left (hero) and then move rightward down the line. So I put the best armor on Sylvando and the Hero and had Sylvando takes the hero's left spot and moved him to the second spot. 99% of attacks would go to sylvando, who would dodge half of them. Then the half he didn't dodge would hurt, but he had the hp pool of a tank with okay armor so the shitty heals I had at the time did the job mostly.

DQ11's combat changes really messed the flow up and made it too lopsided any way you tried to tilt things.

DQ is better than most combat systems. Buffs matter but aren't broken, status effects work on bosses and are useful, game is actually difficult. Only thing better is Etrian. Played P5 back to back and 5 was awful in comparison
