Majora's Mask

Should I play OOT first or can I jump straight into this one?

OoT first.

MM is a direct sequel to OoT.

Play OoT first.

play OoT
skip MM
second biggest meme on this board after FO:NV

play oot only

Zelda stories are basic as shit you don't need to play them in any order unless you want to go
>wow I remember that NPC, totally epic timeline!

MM is a direct sequel to OoT, and designed with OoT's veterans in mind.
So yes, definitely play OoT first.

Get the original v1.0 US (NTSC) N64 versions for both.

Daily reminder that OoT is overrated garbage and Majora's Mask will always be the superior game.

>le "I haff not even played teh gaems!" -post
Majora's takes place immediately after Ocarina, and you play as the same Link. It's a huge exception in the general rule.

MM is gay. If you must play an old game, play OoT

OOT and MM are literally the only good 3d Zelda games.

OoT is the worst game I have ever played, not kidding.

OP, just play Majora's Mask

>Majora's takes place immediately after Ocarina, and you play as the same Link.
That's as far as the story continuity goes though.

You can probably play either first 2bh.

Play OoT first.

It doesn't matter all that much, but the end of OoT is the set up to MM.

>OoT is the worst game I have ever played,
yes, you are kidding / you've played very few games.

>just play MM
I repeat: you kid, hard.

Why do you feel the need to give advise on this subject if you haven't played either?

And? Name one piece of story continuity that actually matters in OoT. Did helping the Gorons defeat the dodongos shape the politics of Termina? The reference itself is the extent of the narrative observation. "You play as the same link" is as far as it ever goes. It doesn't matter.

>You can probably play either first 2bh.
You can also jump straight to the Return Of The Jedi without watching the first two films, but is it smart? Fuck no.

see

MM works better if you played OoT first. Also OoT is the most critically acclaimed game ever made, so you should play it anyway.
They're both masterpieces.

When you guys buy n64 games do you get the cheap fake rom carts of the games or go for the authentic carts?

>OoT is the worst game I have ever played
So you've played a handful of video games? Got it.

>"You play as the same link" is as far as it ever goes. It doesn't matter.
To (You). But when THE Hero of Time's birth, life and death is covered through two games, then referred again and again in the future titles, to the point that he makes a return in a ghouly form later on, it suddently starts to matter.

You are also clearly totally oblivious to the Alice In Wonderland -themes of MM if you can overlook the significance of OoT in this equation.

>THE Hero of Time's birth, life and death is covered through two games
Except it's not.
>it suddently starts to matter.
He's literally the same person, all you need to know is what the game tells you at the start. They literally put that in to let you play either game first.

They actually have a strong link in terms of story.

In MM it's like 'and then Link moved away from the setting of the last game and went somewhere totally different and unrelated.'

>t. shit taste

Ironic

I still own the very original cartridges from back then, so...

In the few cases I've hunted down older games, I always go for the OG copies.

bump

>tfw had a good n64 collection
>still have em
>manuals too
>game boxes i didnt bother
>game boxes worth as much as the actual game now

Damn you 6 year old me

>tfw my parents trashed or burned most of my games' manuals and boxes, because "they take too much space" + "no one needs these anymore! :^)"

>still have my N64 game copies, but my system is probably gone forever
Do they sell for cheap?

>Do they sell for cheap?
the console?
around 50-150 bucks on Ebay.

Is that with or without the expansion pack?

OoT's almost required to enjoy MM. They're kind of a package deal. One enhances the other.
